Set the radio to communicate with a repeater at 147.080+ MHz, 77.0 Hz

Turn on the radio and make sure it’s unlocked

Press V/M once or tw ice until the display
reads MEMORY, then once more

Set the frequency

F/W - ARS.ON - F/W - PTT

Set the transm it pow er level
F/W - 3 - HIGH - F/W

If the + sign appears at the top, skip to step 7

Get into the menu
Set the squelch type
F/W - 1 - TONE - F/W
or for repeaters that send a tone
F/W - 0
F/W - 1 - TSQL - F/W

Go to ARS (item 4)

Set the tone
F/W - 2 - 77.0 - F/W
Your radio is now set to transm it as specified
Store and name the current repeater and tone settings in a memory channel

Follow the procedure above to set your radio
for the frequency of your choice
1.
Press and hold F/W
2.
W ithin ten seconds of releasing F/W , you
must select the memory channel to store the
frequency. If the channel you want isn’t
displayed, rotate the DIAL knob to select it.

Get into the menu
F/W - 0

Go to NM WRT (item 28)
7.
Press F/W once to enter Edit mode then press
F/W again to erase the existing name, if any
8.
Rotate DIAL until the character you w ant
appears, then press F/W . If you make a
m istake, press the dow n arrow .
9.
Press and hold F/W for one second
Press F/W to store the frequency
The frequency is now stored in radio memory
4.
Press V/M to enter M emory mode, then select
the channel you want named
10. Press PTT to save the nam e
The stored m em ory channel now has a name
Recall a stored memory setting
1.
Press V/M once or tw ice until the display reads MEMORY
2.
Turn the knob until you reach the desired channel
The stored channel is now ready for use
Set the radio to communicate at 146.740 MHz simplex
Note: the Yaesu FT-60R will automatically turn off
repeater offsets if its current frequency falls
within the simplex ranges of the ARRL Band Plan
and the ARS (menu item 4) setting is ON. So, if
the simplex frequency you select is outside these
ranges, you must first set ARS to OFF.

If neither the + nor - sign appears at the top,
skip to step 5

Go to repeater shift

Turn on the radio and make sure it’s unlocked

Press V/M once or tw ice until the display
reads MEMORY, then once more
2.
Set the frequency
F/W - 4 - RPT.OFF - F/W
Set the squelch type
F/W - 1 - OFF - F/W

Set the transm it pow er level
F/W - 3 - HIGH - F/W
1-4-6-7-4-0
Your radio is now set to transm it simplex
