Porsche introduced the Cayenne to worldwide customers beginning in November 2002, with
the first U.S. customers taking delivery in March 2003. Since that historic moment when
Porsche introduced its first Porsche for the family, the Stuttgart-based manufacturer has
solidified Cayenne’s sales success. In February 2009, Porsche built the 250,000th Cayenne.
For the 2010 model year, Porsche increases its family of unrivaled all-wheel drive sport-utility
vehicles with two new models, the Cayenne S Transsyberia and the limited edition Cayenne
GTS Porsche Design Edition 3. Building on the astounding dynamics of the Cayenne S and
Cayenne GTS, both the Cayenne S Transsyberia and the Cayenne GTS Porsche Design
Edition 3 offer drivers unparalleled levels of exhilarating road-going performance, all-wheel
drive stability and luxurious accommodations for five people and their cargo.
The full Cayenne lineup now consists of the V6-powered Cayenne, the naturally-aspirated V8
powered Cayenne S and Cayenne GTS models, and the turbocharged Cayenne Turbo and
Cayenne Turbo S. All share an appropriately aggressive face, taut, muscular sheet metal
highlighted by broad wheel arches that hint at the available awesome performance, on the
road and off. All boast all-wheel drive as standard equipment complemented by a broad
palette of traction and stability enhancing technologies.
All Cayenne models are propelled by double-overhead camshaft engines featuring Direct Fuel
Injection (DFI). Porsche’s engineers have ensured that this sophisticated and still-rare
powerplant technology work seamlessly with other Porsche engine controls including
Porsche VarioCam Plus variable intake valve lift and timing system. The result is the
abundant reserve of power that Porsche drivers expect coupled with superb efficiency.
Despite their prodigious outputs, not one of the Cayenne models carries a gas guzzler
stigma and all are certified by the federal government as Low Emissions Vehicles.
The Cayenne SUVs feature a sport button enabling the driver to select between the Normal
and Sport modes. In Sport, the throttle becomes more dynamic and the Tiptronic S
automatic tranmission shift points are more aggressive. Also standard on all models is a
fully automatic tailgate.
And all Cayenne models can tow up to 7,716 lbs. and feature permanent all-wheel drive and
Porsche Traction Management and a 2.7:1 reduction gear for off-road or inclimate weather

New 2010 Models Celebrate Grueling Rally Wins and Porsche Design
Winning Porsches come in many shapes, and nowhere is the competitive Porsche
Motorsport DNA more evident than in the new race-inspired 2010 Porsche Cayenne S
Transsyberia.The Cayenne S Transsyberia is based on the Cayenne SUVs that won one of
the most grueling endurance races in the world. The rally marathon, which is held every
spring, is a two-week race that traverses Russia, Siberia and Mongolia and covers over
4,400 miles. It is called, simply, the Transsyberia Rally, and slightly modified Porsche
Cayenne S models have won this brutally demanding event three times in a row.
Just as the Weissach-developed Cayenne S Transsyberia competition models were based on
the production Cayenne S, the 2010 special edition, with less than 600 units earmarked for
North America, features the 405 horsepower, 4.8-liter naturally aspirated, direct fuel injected
V8 engine lifted directly from the Cayenne GTS. The Tiptronic S six-speed automatic
transmission with a 4.11:1 final drive ratio is standard.
All Cayenne S Transsyberias are equipped with air suspension and Porsche Active
Suspension Management (PASM), which electronically adjusts the shock absorbers to
achieve superior ride and handling characteristics. The permanent all-wheel drive Porsche
Traction Management (PTM) system divides the torque between the front and rear, with a 62
percent rear-bias for greater on-road driving dynamics.
The Cayenne S Transsyberia proudly shows off its winning pedigree in four different color
combinations – black with orange accents or crystal silver metallic with orange accents. For
those desiring a more ‘stealthy’ color combination, the Cayenne S Transsyberia is available
in either black with meteor grey metallic highlights or meteor grey metallic with crystal silver
metallic highlights.
With the exception of the meteor grey metallic with crystal silver metallic combination, all
Cayenne S Transsyberia are available with contrasting colored 18-inch Cayenne S II wheels.
Contrasting color is also used on the air intake vent fins, exterior mirror housing and
extended bi-plane roof spoiler. In addition, the Cayenne S Transsyberia can be customized to
include the decorative ‘Cayenne S Transsyberia’ side strips and off-road roof lights (for
vehicles without the optional moonroof) at no additional cost.
The standard front and rear stainless steel skid plates emphasize the Cayenne S
Transsyberia’s off-road character. An optional off-road package featuring a variable and
lockable rear differential, rock rails with integrated skid plates, a reinforced engine-bay
guard, and enhanced protection for the fuel tank and rear axle is available. A second towing
lug is also provided.

The interior features standard sport seats with Alcantara seat inserts, and the standard
multifunction steering wheel is covered in Alcantara with a ‘12 o’clock’ mark at the top of the
wheel in the same contrasting color as the exterior, just as what’s found on the race-ready
Porsche Cayenne S Transsyberia SUVs.
The Cayenne S Transsyberia’s MSRP is $70,800 plus $975 for destination.
For 2010 Porsche also offers U.S. customers limited edition Cayenne GTS Porsche Design
Edition 3. Featuring interior and exterior styling cues that help communicate this unique
Porsche’s high-performance personality, it is the first time the Porsche Design stylists have
chosen an SUV rather than one of Porsche’s sports cars.
Available through authorized Porsche dealers in for an MSRP of $89,900 plus $975 for
destination, the Cayenne GTS Porsche Design Edition 3 comes in Lava Grey Metallic with
special design stripes adorning the sides and the hood. Bi-Xenon™ headlights are standard,
yet they are finished in black to tie in with the dark privacy glass on windows rear of the Bpillar and the monochrome black exterior package for the window surrounds, door handles
and door trim.
Adding to the look is the ‘Cayenne GTS’ model designation on the rear liftgate in black with
the ‘S’ in red and the standard 21-inch SportPlus wheels and the wheel arch extensions
finished in Lava Grey Metallic. Finally, customers can select an extended roof spoiler with a
double-wing profile as a no-cost option.
Upon opening the door, the unique styling is immediately noticeable with the ‘Porsche Design
Edition 3’ logo appearing on the stainless steel door entry guards. Exclusive black leather
interior with contrasting red stitching in the seams on the upper dashboard and door trim,
floor mats and cargo area mat further enhance the looks of this limited edition Cayenne.
Other interior accents include electrically adjustable sport seats with extended memory and
raised bolsters for additional lateral support, the Porsche crest embossed on the headrests,
and the center sections of the front and rear seats finished in Alcantara. The center console,
the door linings, the inner sections of the door handles, and the entire roof lining are
trimmed in Alcantara, as well.
A padded rim on the three-spoke multifunction steering wheel; carbon trim strips; the
‘Porsche Design Edition 3’ logo on the tachometer face; a 410-watt, 14-speaker Bose® 5.1
Surround Sound System; and a glovebox badge bearing the series production number round
out the interior package.
Performance comes via a 4.8-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine fitted with a Sport Exhaust
System as standard equipment and mated to Porsche’s six-speed Tiptronic S automatic

transmission. With 405 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, the Cayenne GTS Porsche
Design Edition 3 can sprint to 60 mph in just 6.1 seconds on its way to a top test track
speed of 156 mph. Also standard is the ParkAssist system and air suspension with a ride
height that is .78 of an inch lower than the air suspension system available on the Cayenne
and Cayenne S and standard on the Cayenne Turbo and Turbo S.
Like its limited edition siblings --- the Cayman S Porsche Design Edition 1 and the Boxster S
Porsche Design Edition 2 – this special model includes as standard equipment several
Porsche Design accessories. For this car, the Porsche Design Studio has created a Type
P’6612 automatic chronograph featuring a light titanium casing measuring 1.65 inches (42
mm) in diameter. It also has a metal strap with DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating, a special
coating carried over from racing engines that gives the titanium casing its characteristic
color. Finally, the exclusive chronograph face plays off of the Cayenne GTS Porsche Design
Edition 3’s unique interior. Also included is a four-piece luggage set (three trolley cases in
various sizes and a functional briefcase) bearing the Porsche Design Edition 3 label.

In addition to the two new Cayenne models, the 2010 model year brings a few model
For the first time, Cayenne customers can request trim stitching and leather in deviating
color, which previously had been exclusive to the sports car lines. Customers can select
decorative trim stitching in a deviating color throughout the interior, as well as leather seat
centers and door panels in a deviating color.
Through Porsche Exclusive program, Cayenne customers can now get two new options: BiXenon™ headlights finished in black and 21-inch Cayenne SportPlus wheels painted black.
The 21-inch SportPlus wheel is starndard on the Cayenne Turbo S and Cayenne GTS Porsche
Design Edition 3 (painted Lava Grey Metallic on this model), and the 21-inch Cayenne Sport
wheel is standard on the 2010 Cayenne GTS.
The 2010 models still feature many of the upgrades first shown last year, such as Porsche’s
updated Porsche Communication Management system (PCM), which is standard equipment
on the Turbo models and optional on the other models. The system now uses a touchscreen
rather than a separate keyboard. The optional navigation system (also standard on Turbo
models) is now based on a 40 gb hard drive.
In addition, the PCM offers optional Bluetooth connectivity for handsfree cellphone use, and
optional wired connectivity for external music and audio sources such as MP3 players, iPods

and USB memory sticks. Other audio options include XM Satellite radio with real-time XM
NavTraffic updates and a six-disc CD changer.
Porsche engineers adapted the company’s unique Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake
(PCCB) system to the Cayenne range. Beginning with the 2009 model year, PCCB with its
recognizable yellow calipers, is optionally available on all V8-powered Cayenne SUVs when
equipped with 20 or 21 inch wheels.
Cayenne Turbo S
As befits any flagship wearing the renowned Porsche crest, the 2010 Cayenne Turbo S is
the most powerful Cayenne ever built. Sharing the same essential 4.8-liter V8 engine as the
Cayenne S, GTS and Turbo, the Turbo S boasts 550 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque.
That is a 10 percent increase in power and a 7 percent boost in torque over the Cayenne
Turbo. The Cayenne Turbo S accelerates from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.7 seconds on
its way to a track-proven top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h). Like the Cayenne S and
Cayenne Turbo, the Turbo S comes standard with a six-speed Tiptronic S automatic
Despite the astounding performance, the Cayenne Turbo S carries no fuel economy penalty
over the Cayenne Turbo. Both the 2010 Cayenne Turbo and Cayenne Turbo S are EPA rated
to deliver 12 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway, and both are certified as LowEmissions Vehicles, Tier II (LEV-II).
Instantly recognizable as a Cayenne, and clearly identifiable as a unique model, the Cayenne
Turbo S rides on standard 21-inch alloy wheels with 295/35 wide-aspect tires. Other unique
visual clues to the flagship’s identity are the body-color wheel arch extensions and mattefinish air intake grilles. From the rear, the Cayenne Turbo S is instantly recognizable by its
dual-twin tailpipes made of precision cast aluminum, inspired by those on the Porsche
Carrera GT. Finally, the Cayenne Turbo S is available in a unique exterior color: Lava Grey
The Cayenne Turbo S passenger cabin is unique thanks to its standard two-color leather
upholstery. Buyers have a choice of either Black/Havanna or Black/Steel Grey full leather
seating surfaces, as well as solid Black or Sand Beige. In addition, the dashboard and upper
door panels have coordinating seams finished in the lighter upholstery color. The interior
also is distinct with its standard two-tone, padded leather steering wheel and carbon fiber
door and dash trim. As with the Cayenne GTS, the Cayenne Turbo S has bolstered front and
rear sport seats. The front seats have an extended memory feature and the three-person
rear seat features contours for the outer positions.

Besides its more potent turbocharged engine, the Cayenne Turbo S differs mechanically
from the Turbo by featuring Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) as standard
equipment. PDCC uses hydraulically assisted anti-roll bars to actively manage body lean in
curves to help improve response, agility, and provide increased passenger comfort. If the
driver selects the off-road mode and low-range gearing, the hydralic pivot motors are
released and the anti-roll bars are disengaged to provide maximum axle articulation.
The MSRP is $126,300, plus $975 for destination.
Cayenne Turbo
With its Direct- Fuel Injection (DFI), twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 cranking out 500
horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque and a six-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission, the
Porsche Cayenne Turbo sprints from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.9 seconds. On the test
track, the Cayenne Turbo tops out at 171 mph (275 km/h). Equally impressive as the
Cayenne Turbo's blistering performance is the fact that it attains LEV-II certification while
carrying no gas-guzzler penalty. Like the Cayenne Turbo S, the Cayenne Turbo gets an EPA
fuel economy rating of 12 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway.
Cayenne Turbo standard equipment includes air suspension with Porsche Stability
Management (PSM) and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM); Bi-Xenon™
headlights; Porsche Communication Management with a 6.5-inch full-color LCD with
touchscreen controls and DVD navigation; a 410-watt, 14-speaker Bose Surround Sound
System; a five-inch TFT color monitor in the instrument cluster; front, side and curtain
airbags; front and rear ParkAssist with audio an visual displays; a power tailgate; and 19-inch
Cayenne Design wheels with 275/45 performance tires. Total MSRP is $99,900 plus $975
for destination.
Cayenne GTS
With an enhanced powertrain and lowered air suspension and 21-inch wheels and tires, the
Cayenne GTS represents the top of the naturally aspirated Cayenne range. Refinements by
Porsche engineers sacrificed some of the Cayenne’s inherent, off-road capabilities in favor of
increased dynamic performance on pavement. To that end, the engineers lowered the air
suspension and made modifications to the naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V8 engine.
The drivetrain refinements resulted in a 5 percent or 20-horsepower increase to 405
horsepower over the Cayenne S. Responses to the driver's commands are further
heightened by a 15-percent reduction in the drivetrain's final drive ratio, regardless of the
transmission. The Cayenne GTS is equipped with either the standard equipment six-speed
manual gearbox or an optional six-speed Tiptronic S automatic. The engine's power
characteristics are optimized by a specially created sport exhaust system – which comes
with the added bonus of a throaty, meaningful note from the dual-twin tailpipes.

Thanks to these enhancements, Porsche test drivers were able to accelerate the Cayenne
GTS with manual gearbox on the track from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 5.7 seconds. The
Cayenne GTS with the Tiptronic S is three tenths of a second quicker than its Cayenne S
sibling, accelerating to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds. Top test-track speed for Cayenne GTS with
manual gearbox or Tiptronic S transmission is 157 mph (253 km/h).
To ensure road-holding commensurate with its added engine output, the Cayenne GTS’s
standard air suspension system sits 0.78 inches lower than the other Cayenne models with
air supsension. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Stability
Managament (PSM) are standard, as well. To ensure more than adequate traction, the
Cayenne GTS is fitted with 21-inch alloy Cayenne Sport wheels with 295/35 performance
More impressive than the Cayenne GTS’s performance is the fact that regardless of
transmission the SUV carries no gas-guzzler penalty. The manual transmission model is
rated at 11 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway. The Tiptronic S improves efficiency
by upping the ratings to 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway. Thanks to direct
fuel injection working in concert with Porsche VarioCam Plus variable intake valve lift, both
GTS versions and the Cayenne S achieve Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle (ULEV) certification.
The Cayenne GTS with the standard six-speed manual gearbox starts at $72,400 plus a
$975 for destination.
Cayenne S
With 385 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque available, the five-passenger, permanent allwheel drive Cayenne S can scoot from a standstill to 60 mph (96 km/h) in only 6.4 seconds.
Top test-track speed is 155 mph (250 km/h). Despite this performance, the Cayenne S is
certified as an Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle (ULEV). With its efficient Tiptronic S automatic
transmission the Cayenne S is rated by the EPA to return 13 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on
the highway. Thanks to Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) and Porsche VarioCam Plus intake valve lift
and timing control, the Cayenne S, like its Cayenne siblings, carries no gas-guzzler penalty.
The 2010 Cayenne S MSRP is $60,700 plus $975 for destination.
With an MSRP of $45,500 (plus $975 for destination), the Porsche Cayenne is the entry level
model in the Cayenne family of high-performance, luxury SUVs. Yet, its performance is far
from basic. The Cayenne is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine with Direct Fuel Injection (DFI)
and delivering 290 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. The results are felt immediately as
the Cayenne accelerates from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 7.5 seconds, a full second

quicker than the original 2004 model. Track-proven top speed is 141 mph (227 km/h). The
Cayenne can be had with either a six-speed manual or six-speed Tiptronic S automatic
transmission. Regardless of transmission, the Cayenne carries an EPA fuel economy rating
of 14 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway. The V6 engine in the Cayenne earns the
vehicle a LEV-II clean-air certification from the EPA.
Occupant Protection Off-Road and On
In addition to their stunning combination of performance and environmental sensitivity, all
models in the Cayenne line are equipped with a rollover sensor that in the event of an
impending rollover triggers the seatbelt tensioners and the side curtain airbags.
But Porsche firmly believes that preventing an accident is the best way to protect the
vehicle's occupants, so all Cayennes are equipped with Porsche Stability Management (PSM)
to help maintain vehicle stability, even under adverse weather and surface conditions. PSM is
fully integrated with the vehicles' other safety features, including antilock braking and braking
Even further stability, agility and comfort is available with Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control
(PDCC). This optional system (standard on the Turbo S) all but eliminates body lean in turns
via active anti-roll bars.
Permanent All-Wheel Drive, Porsche Style
Regardless of powerplant or transmission, every Cayenne walks a delicate line; each must
be a sport-utility vehicle and a Porsche. Inherent in the concept of an SUV is the ability to
traverse many more surfaces than Macadam or concrete. To that end, all Cayenne models
come standard with the maker's permanent all-wheel drive system, Porsche Traction
Management (PTM).
Under most conditions, engine power is biased to the rear wheels, as driving enthusiasts
prefer. In standard mode, the torque is split 38/62, front/rear. However, as conditions
warrant, the electronically controlled PTM has the capacity to vary that power distribution
virtually infinitely and instantaneously, directing up to 100 percent of the engine's power to
either front or rear wheels as necessary for optimum traction and stability.
And all Cayenne models have a 2.7:1 reduction gear for off-road or inclimate weather use.
To activate the low-range gearing, the driver simply applies the brake, puts the car in neutral
and tips the center console swtch to the off-road position. The Cayenne automatically
swtches to low-range gearing. If fitted with air suspension, the Cayenne automatically raises
from its normal level of 8.46 inches to a special off-road level of 10.67 inches.
Finally, all Cayenne models can tow up to 7,716 lbs.

Family Resemblance
Regardless of model distinctions, all Cayennes share a solid family resemblance. Every one
has a bold face with its headlights under clear glass covers and mounted close to the
fascia's outer edges. The strong front sweeps back to broad, muscular wheel arches. The
breadth of the wheel arches increases along with each variant’s performance potential and
tire size. Both the Cayenne Turbo and Cayenne Turbo S are further distinguished by their
power dome hoods, and the GTS shares their horizontal lighting units mounted in the outer
air inlets.
Leaving no stone unturned in its quest to refine the Cayennes’ shape, Porsche's
aerodynamic engineers optimized the shape of the exterior mirrors and the roof spoiler.
Besides resulting in an aesthetic, fresh look, the current body has a lower coefficient of drag
than the first generation Cayenne.
