The Yak 52 can be powered by a 2-cycle engine (46 or 50 class) or a 4-cycle engine (60 or 70 class). You can also use an electric motor equivalent.

The recommended propeller size depends on the engine you're using: 10.5x6 for a .40 - 2 cycle engine, 11x6 for a .46 - 2 cycle engine, 12x6 for a .60 - 4 cycle engine, 12x7 for a .70 - 4 cycle engine, and 13x6 for a Quantum 4120/05 brushless motor.

The Yak 52 can be equipped with a retractable landing gear. However, the landing gear is optional and must be purchased separately.

The recommended center of gravity (CG) for the Yak 52 is 4-1/4 inches (107 mm) from the leading edge of the wing. To achieve this, you can adjust the location of the battery pack.
