477 MHz UHF HANDHELDS
COMPACT, RUGGED & RELIABLE
Land mobile 477 MHz UHF CB handheld radio range
TX Features explained*
> Programmable Scan Function
> Roger Beep
Programmable Scan allows up to 80 CB channels to be
scanned. Channels that are not required to be scanned can
be removed from the scan sequence.
The Roger Beep is a short tone that is automatically added
to the end of your transmissions to tell other users that you
have finished speaking.
> Duplex
> Calling Tone
Allows the radio to transmit on a different frequency to it
receives. This allows operation through repeaters in your
area. Repeaters automatically re-transmit your signal over a
much wider area, providing greatly increased range. Duplex
mode only works on channels 1-8 and 41-48.
The Calling Tone alerts others to your call by sending a call
tone that will be heard in the speaker of the receiving radio.
> Selcall
Allows the radio to ‘sleep’ during periods of inactivity to
conserve battery power (ie. no transmission or reception),
while sleeping it will check for incoming signals.
Selective Calling (Selcall) operates like a telephone. Your
radio is pre-programmed with its own unique Selcall
Identification number. If this number is called by another
radio, your radio will beep to alert you. If you are away from
your radio when it receives a Selcall, your radio will display
the details of the received Selcall to alert of the missed call.
> Monitor Function
> Quiet Mode
The Monitor Function allows the squelch to be opened so
the channel can be checked for activity.
Quiet Mode prevents incoming signals being heard unless
preceded by your Selcall code.
> Adjustable Squelch
> Priority Channel
The Squelch is used to eliminate any annoying background
noise when there are no signals present. Adjustable Squelch
allows you to adjust the squelch to suit your operating
environment.
The Priority Channel feature allows you to store a channel
as a priority channel that can instantly be recalled at the
press of a key. This can provide instant access to your
working channel or local repeater channel.
> CTCSS
> Open Scan
CTCSS (Continuous Tone Coded Squelch System) is a
squelch quietening system that allows several groups of
users to share the same channel without disturbing
each other.
Open Scan allows all channels in the open scan group to be
scanned in ascending order.
> Power Save
> Group Scan
DCS (Digitally Coded Squelch) is also a squelch quietening
system that allows several groups of users to share the
same channel without disturbing each other.
Group Scan allows you to transmit and receive normally
on your Priority (working) Channel, while continuing to
scan several other channels. The radio will scan the other
channels only while there are no signals present on the
priority channel.
> Dual Watch
> Voice Inversion Scrambler
The Dual Watch mode allows you to monitor two channels
at the same time. While in dual watch mode, the unit will
monitor both the currently selected channel and a second
dual watch channel.
The Voice Inversion Scrambler will make your voice
unintelligible to others, not using the same scrambler
technology, providing a new level of privacy.
> VOX
The Room Monitor listens for sounds in the room. Any
short, brief sounds are ignored but a continuous sound
lasting 5 seconds or more will cause the radio to transmit
for 15 seconds. If the sound persists the radio will transmit
for a further 15 seconds.
> DCS
When Hands-free (VOX) mode is selected the radio will
automatically transmit whenever the Microphone detects
your voice.
* The features listed above are not available in all models.
