About this release
TEMS Pocket 9.1 Professional is a new versatile measurement system
equipped with mobile application tests, including speech quality MOS and
mobile IP data tests running on Nokia C5-00 Symbian phone.

Requirements
TEMS Pocket 9.1 runs with the following Nokia C5-00 firmware versions:

NTM 69 v1.0 CID11 EU

NTM 69 v1.0 CID11 CH (Chinese language)
NTM 69 v1.0 based on Nokia C5 031.022 release

PC Suite
Since a special trace firmware is installed on Pocket 9.1 Nokia phones,
DO NOT UPDATE Nokia phone firmware via Nokia PC Suite.
With a phone firmware update using PC Suite, latest Nokia consumer
firmware without trace functionality is installed on the phone and
TEMS Pocket 9.1 does not work anymore.

PC Hardware and Software Requirements
Software prerequisites for TEMS Pocket 9.1 Tools:

Microsoft .NET 3.5 framework

Nokia PC-Suite v7.1 or higher
Both 3rd party applications are stored on Nokia C5 memory card in folder
(E:)\TEMS_Pocket_9\3rd Party\.

TEMS Pocket 9.1 Tools runs on the following Operating Systems:

Post Processing
The current version of the measurement data file structure is 5.5.0.
The 9.1 log files can be post-processed with QVoice Presentation v5.5,
QVoice Field Analyser v2.3.15 and TEMS Discovery v2.0.

Installation and Upgrading
The TEMS Pocket and TEMS Pocket Tools installation guidelines are
described in TEMS Pocket 9.1 User Manual, chapter 2 <Installation>.

TEMS Pocket 9.1 does not support Nokia 6720, N95 and N85.

T+10406: Support for Nokia C5-00.
Known Issues
Limitations
The following Nokia phone resp. Symbian OS limitations exist:

T+4938: GSM C/I not reported in idle mode
In result tab «Link Quality» there are no GSM C/I values reported in
idle mode due to missing information from the handset.

T+5096: No RxQual values displayed during Packet Transfer Mode
GSM RxQual of the serving cell is not updated during packet transfer
mode. RxQual is displayed in GPRS/EDGE result tab «Channel Info»
and «Link Quality».

T+5110: MMS handset reset during measurement
During MMS tests it may happen that a handset error occurs due to
unknown reasons. The error may occur first after a 4 hour running
MMS test but sometimes, it may happen earlier. Existing measurement
results are not lost, they can be used for post processing.

T+6240: VT test may stop due to delayed call setup time
It may happen that a video telephony test is stopped due to a long call
setup time that is indicated by an AT command response 'delayed'.

T+8745: Replay: Measurement file size limited to ~5MB
In Replay Mode (menu item «Options – Last Measurements – Open Replay» ), the max. measurement file size is limited to ~5MB due to
Symbian restrictions. Measurement result files that exceed this
limitation are not display in the last measurements daily view.

T+8751: GSM RF Scan Mode
During running GSM RF Scan mode, 3G radio access technology icon
is displayed due to a Nokia firmware problem. The correct radio access
technology is displayed by Pocket 9.1 software.

T+8997: Ovi Maps 3.x and QVoice Smart do not run in parallel
Ovi Maps 3.x (installed by default on 6720) and Pocket 9.1 do not run
in parallel. When Ovi Maps 3.x is started resp. running, other running
applications are closed by Symbian OS.


Known Bugs
T+10808: First measurement fails when getting a call before
If the device receives a call after starting up TEMS Pocket but before
an actual measurement has started, the measurement will fail. When
this happens, the call must be terminated and TEMS Pocket restarted
for any measurement to be possible again. The most common situation
where this may happen is when TEMS Pocket is operated in Slave
Mode (answering station) for MS-MS speech measurement tasks.
Please make sure that no speech task is using the same answering
station before the actual MS-MS speech task is started to avoid this
situation.
6.3
Knowledge Base

Speech Call Duration
The speech quality is evaluated with PESQ on the basis of an
8 second speech reference sample. Since Pocket 9.0.1 version, the
measurement interval is set to 20 seconds.
For speech quality tests we therefore suggest to use a speech call
duration of 'n' * 20 + 5 seconds to be able to get 'n' MOS values.
Additional five seconds ensure that last result is written into log file
before the call is disconnected.

MMS Testing not compliant with ETSI TS 101 250-2
Some trigger points required for MMS KPI calculation as defined in
ETSI TS 101 250-2 are not accessible, hence the MMS test in TEMS
Pocket 9.1 is not ETSI compliant.
