Introduction

The StarTech.com SVID2USB22 USB 2.0 S-Video/Composite video

Capture Cable lets you connect devices that output S-Video or

Composite video to a computer, through an available USB 2.0 port.

The cable also features two channel RCA stereo audio inputs, that let you capture the audio that accompanies the S-Video or Composite video signal. Support for TWAIN drivers to enable various third party video capture software, the capture cable offers real time MPEG1 and

MPEG2 recording.

Installation

1. Please insert the included Driver CD into the CD-ROM Drive.

2. At the Windows desktop, click Start, Run.

3. Type D:\ AV Grabber\Setup.exe, click OK. (Change D: to match your

CD-ROM drive letter)

4. If a Windows Security dialog window appears, click the “Install this driver software anyway” or “Continue Anyways” option to proceed

5. Restart Windows to complete the driver installation.

6. Once the computer has booted into Windows, plug the SVID2USB22 adapter cable into an available USB2.0 port.

7. Windows should automatically detect new hardware and begin to load the drivers.

8. If a Windows Security dialog window appears, click the “Install this driver software anyway” or “Continue Anyways” option to proceed.

9. Connect the video source to the video capture adapter either through S-Video (black) or composite video (yellow) using the appropriate cables. Stereo audio (red/white) can also be connected to the adapter.

Verifying Installation

From the main desktop, right-click on “My Computer” (“Computer” in Vista/7), then select Manage. In the new Computer Management window, select Device Manager from the left window panel.

Click on the “+” (plus sign) in front of “Sound, video and game controllers”, “AV Grabber” should be displayed under this category.

Software Installation (Optional)

To install Ulead ® VideoStudio ® for use as video capture and editing software, follow these installation steps. If other video capture/editing software is to be used, then this is not necessary.

1. Place the Ulead Video Studio SE CD into a CD-ROM drive and setup should launch automatically. If setup does not launch, use

Windows Explorer to navigate to appropriate CD-ROM drive and run the Setup.

2. The installation wizard will start the installation process, click OK to start installing.

NOTE: The serial installation key is included on the back of the CD sleeve.

3. Follow the installation wizard and complete the steps to finish Ulead

VideoStudio 11 SE DVD software.
