Installation
The screen can be mounted in a few different ways. It includes 4 spring clips that allow the screen to snap into the wall
opening. These clips may need to be adjusted depending on the thickness of the wall. Also, the clips can be removed and
the screen may be mounted directly to a piece of wood or metal that may be behind the opening in the wall.
WARNING: Be very careful when handling the clips as they have sharp edges. Never try to reposition the clips or bend
them with your fingers! Use pliers or other appropriate tools.
The wall cut-out size should be 7.875”w x 5.50”h. Use the included template as your starting point. Once cut, you may
need to make this opening slightly larger to allow room for the spring clips. If you need to enlarge the opening, do so
gradually to ensure you don’t end up with a hole too large. The minimal bezel width is ¼”.

Note: The bottom of the screen has a slight bump to allow for opening the unit from the front. You may need to make a
small cut in your wall to allow for this.
Since the screen folds open, the unit can also be mounted under a cabinet. The screen can be mounted vertically as it will
auto-rotate the screen image, but the default HSTouch project only has a landscape orientation so you will need to use
the HSTouch Designer to create a new project.
The screen uses POE (power over Ethernet) for its power. You will need either a POE network hub or a POE injector. The
injector is installed in-line with your Ethernet cable and will supply the required 48V to the screen. HomeSeer offers
injectors in its online store. The injector can be installed where the Ethernet cable connects to your network hub.
Operation
The screen includes the HomeSeer HSTouch Android client pre-installed and it will start automatically when the unit
powers on. Also, when power is applied, the unit automatically powers on, the power button is not needed to turn on the
unit.
When HSTouch starts it will prompt you for your connection. Since no connection has been configured, select the Settings
option to enter the settings. Then configure your connection options including the IP address of your HSTouch Server as
well as your username and password. You should also change the connection mode to the server you have configured so
the screen will not prompt you for a server every time it starts. Press the back button to exit the settings and get back to
the main menu. From there select the server you have configured so the client will attempt to connect to your server.
Once HSTouch is running, you can always gain access to the HSTouch menu by pressing the lower right corner of the
screen. This will bring up the HSTouch menu where you can go back into settings or exit the application and enter the
Android OS. Use the HSTouch Designer to load your own screens onto the unit.
Updating the Software
The latest HSTouch Android client will always be available in the HSTouch Android forum on our message board at
forums.homeseer.com. To update the client on the touch screen, copy the Android APK file to either a micro SD card or a
USB flash drive. The USB flash drive is then inserted into the USB connection on the rear of the unit. The micro SD card is
inserted into the micro SD card slot on right side of the unit. The file browser will start automatically. Click on the APK file
to install it. A third option is to exit the HSTouch application and start the web browser on the unit. Browse to the
HomeSeer HSTouch Android forum and click on the APK file link under the post for the version of the client you wish to
install. Note that this screen only supports client versions 1.0.34 or later.
