“PROLAM” OPERATIONAL MANUAL
▶ INSTRODUCTION:
CONGRATULATIONS ON THE PURCHASE OF YOUR NEW PRO-LAM, A HEAVY DUTY POUCH LAMINATOR. YOUR
PRO-LAM WAS SPECIALLY DESIGNED WITH THE HIGHEST AVAILABLE TECHNOLOGY AND PREMIUM QUALITY
COMPONENTS TO RENDER YOU A HIGH QUALITY LAMINATION AS WELL AS MANY YEARS OF TROUBLE-FREE
SERVICE.
THE PRO-LAM CAN OPERATE WITH ANY STANDARD LAMINATING POUCH CURRENTLY IN THE MARKET. IT WAS
SPECIALLY DESIGNED TO OPERATE WITH OR WITHOUT A CARR|ER. NOTE: WE ONLY RECOMMEND THE USE
OF CARRIERS WITH INFERIOR QUALITY POUCHES (HIGH ADHESIVE COMPOSITION i.e. 10 MILS (4/6) POUCHES),
AS THEY MAY EXCRETE EXCESSIVE ADHESIVE, WHICH CAN POTENTIALLY DAMAGE THE SYSTEM.
▶ OUTSIDE FEATURES:
IMPORTANT: WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE
FUNCTIONS OF YOUR NEW PRO-LAM. YOU WILL FIND OUT THAT WITH JUST A LITTLE PRACTICE, ANY
PERSON CAN ACHIEVE A PROFESSIONAL LAMINATION.
▶ OPERATION:
· PLACE YOUR NEW PRO-LAM ON TOP OF A WORKING TABLE.
· PLUG POWER TO A GROUNDED 110V OUTLET (220V FOR CERTAIN COUNTRIES).
· PRESS THE POWER SWITCH TO THE ON POSTION (1). THE POWER LIGHT (1) WILL TURN ON INDICATING
THAT THE PRO-LAM HAS BEEN ACTIVATED.
· ADJUST THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL KNOB (3), TO THE DESIRED POSTION.
· THE READY LIGHT (4) WILL TURN ON IN APPROXIMATELY 2-3 MINUTES, LETTING YOU KNOW THAT THE
PRO-LAM lS READY TO START LAMINATING.
· PRESS THE MOTOR SWITCH (2) TO THE ON POSITION.
· INTRODUCE THE DOCUMENT TO BE LAMINATED INTO THE POUCH.
· INTRODUCE THE POUCH (SEALED SIDE FIRST) INTO THE ENTRANCE (5) OF THE PRO-LAM. *Remarks : When laminating small
pouches(with short-side less than 3” long) that do not require the use of carriers, insert your pouch with the short-side first, to make sure
it clears the gap between the front & back rollers.
· REMOVE THE POUCH FROM THE EXIT (6) OF THE PRO-LAM.
· TURN “OFF” (1 & 2) THE PRO-LAM ONCE YOU ARE FINISHED LAMINATING.
▶ TIPS:
ALWAYS TURN “OFF” THE PRO-LAM IF YOU WILL STOP LAMINATING FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME.
ALWAYS MAINTAIN THE PRO-LAM ON STAND BY (POWER “ON” POSITION) IF YOU WILL CONTINUE
LAMINATING WITHIN A FEW MINUTES. THIS FEATURE WILL ALLOW YOU TO INSTANTLY RE-START
LAMINATING, WITHOUT DEPRECIATING THE MOTOR OR ROLLERS.
▶ TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENTS:
IF THE POUCH IS NOT SEALING WELL (IT APPEARS MILKY), THE TEMPERATURE MAY BE TOO COLD FOR
THE POUCH THICKNESS THAT YOU WISH TO LAMINATE.
CORRECTIVE ACTION:
· A. MAKE SURE THAT THE TEMPERATURE IS PROPERLY SET FOR THE POUCH THICKNESS TO BE
LAMINATED.
· B. MAKE SURE THAT THE READY LIGHT IS ON.
· C. IF THE TEMPERATURE IS AT THE CORRECT POSITION AND THE READY LIGHT IS NOT ON, SIMPLY
WAIT UNTIL THE READY LIGHT TURNS ON AND PROCEED TO LAMINATE.
· D. IF BOTH THE TEMPERATURE IS AT THE CORRECT POSITION AND THE READY LIGHT IS ON, RAISE THE
TEMPERATURE POSTION ONE KNOB (CLOCK-WISE) AND WAIT APPROXIMATELY 1-2 MINUTES UNTIL
THE READY LIGHT TURNS ON AND THEN PROCEED TO LAMINATE.
E. REPEAT STEP “D” AS NEEDED. NOTE: THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT POUCHES IN THE MARKET, THAT
MAY REQUIRE MORE OR LESS HEAT TO PROPERLY SEAL.
·IF THE POUCH IS WAVY THE TEMPERATURE IS TOO HIGH FOR THE POUCH THICKNESS THAT YOU WISH
TO LAMINATE
CORRECTIVE ACTION:
F. PROCEED WITH STEPS A, B, C, D AND E ABOVE. NOTE: TEMPERATURE CONTROL MUST BE TURNED
COUNTER-CLOCK-WISE TO LOWER TEMPERATURE.
CAUTION !
· DO NOT LEAVE THE PRO-LAM ON FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME, WHEN NOT IN USE.
