Fitting the car seat in a vehicle
Zi
Place the car seat rear facing on the vehicle seat with the carry handle in the
carrying position.
Pull the car seat belt out to its fullest extent, passing the lap section over the
baby’s lap area and fasten the buckle (1).
Feed the lap belt into the lap belt guides on both sides of the car seat (2).
Squeeze the carry handle release buttons and rotate the handle to the vehicle
position (see page 7 ‘The handle’).
Pass the diagonal belt under the carry handle; partly covering the hole below
the end of the handle (4).
Pass the diagonal belt around the back of the car seat and through the diagonal
belt guide (5).
Tighten the seat belt by pulling the diagonal section towards the back of the
seat (6) and towards the upper anchorage point (7).
Check that there is some space between the seat buckle tongue and the
underside of the lap belt guide. If these are touching; the seat belt may not be
adequately tight. Contact the retailer if this happens.
The car seat should now be secure in the vehicle with the carry handle resting
firmly against the vehicle seat backrest.
Fitting tips
If the vehicle seat belt appears too short; try the following.
If the vehicle seat can be moved backwards; move it back as far as it will go.
If the diagonal belt anchorage point is height adjustable, lower it to the lowest
position.
If you have ‘ALR’ (automatic locking retractor) seat belts, ensure the seat belt
is pulled out to fullest extent before passing the seat belt around the car seat.
Fit the lap belt into the lap belt guides and pass the diagonal belt around the
back of the car seat before inserting the seat belt buckle tongue into the
buckle.
The hood
Place the hood over the back of the car
seat and secure using the two press-
studs: one on each side of the hood.

This is a “Universal” child restraint. It is approved to ECE Regulation
No. 44/04. For general use in vehicles and will fit most; but not all
vehicles.
A correct fit is likely if the vehicle manufacturer has declared in the
vehicle handbook that the vehicle is capable of accepting a “Universal”
child restraint for this age group.
This child restraint has been classified as “Universal” under more
stringent conditions than those applied to earlier designs which do not
carry this notice.
If in doubt contact either the child restraint manufacturer or the retailer.
