Select BiTronics Parallel or
The default interface for the H P
LaserJet 4Si printer is BiTronics
parallel. However, the
HP LaserJet 4Si printer can be
configured in different ways.
For information about configuring your
printer with:

BiTronics parallel (default): go to
section L for information on the
BiTronics parallel interface cable.
H P JetDirect: refer to the HP
JetDirect Network Interface
Configuration Guide which came with
your HP JetDirect card. For connection
to a LocalTalk network, refer to the HP
JetDirect Interface for LocalTalk
Networks Administrator’s Guide that

A computer communicates with a printer
through an interface cable. Your HP
LaserJet 4Si printer supports a BiTronics
parallel cable which is fully compatible
with a Centronics parallel cable. This
cable is inserted into the back of your
printer and connects to your computer.
The illustrations below show you where to
insert the cable into your printer port and
what the end of the BiTronics parallel
cable looks like. Continue to the next page
for more information about your cable. If
you have not purchased your interface
cable, the information on the next two
pages will help you identify the cable.
