DIE-CAST FRAME – The sophisticated four-piece
aluminium frame combines the delicate balance of
strength, rigidity and lightness required for top superbike
performance. It also enables the positioning of other
components for mass centralisation.
HESD – Honda’s second-generation HESD Steering
Damper automatically tailors damping force according
to bike speed. This enhances high-speed stability by
minimising sudden steering changes and also enables
light, easy steering at low speeds.

But behind these striking looks is a machine bristling with high
technology and cutting edge innovations.
The CBR1000RR Fireblade’s compact form concentrates weight and
mass nearest its centre of gravity for light effortless handling, dispensing
with anything that doesn’t support the twin goals of minimal weight and
optimal mass centralisation. At its heart is the fuel-injected liquid-cooled
4-stroke engine - a masterpiece of power-to-weight balance as well
as a formidable and smooth operating powerhouse.
Now the breathtaking performance of the CBR1000RR can be enjoyed
with the added reassurance of a specially developed electronicallycontrolled ‘Combined ABS’, developed by Honda specifically for use
on the CBR1000R and CBR600RR. This revolutionary system allows
riders to brake naturally and confidently without disturbing the smooth,
intuitive control that is so essential to sports riding.

1. PGM-DSFI – The Dual Sequential Programmed Fuel Injection
system enables the engine to deliver quick-revving power,
blistering torque and breathtaking acceleration, as well as
smooth output and easy control.
2. ENGINE – The wide-bore, short-stroke configuration
that delivers the engine’s high-revving power range is made
possible by sleeveless cylinders and lightweight pistons,
cams, valves and cranks.
3. CRANKSHAFT – For 2010 the ACG flywheels have been
made bigger and crankshaft rigidity has been enhanced to
fit the flywheel size, increasing the crankshaft inertia mass.
This enables generation of optimal crankshaft inertia mass
during racing and improves throttle control and racing potential.
This has been achieved without any increase in weight
through the use of lightweight components.

a compact configuration with maximum
ground clearance and mass centralisation.
Two valves in the muffler constantly tailor
the system for maximum drive and smooth
delivery, boosting power at full throttle.
SLIPPER CLUTCH – The engine’s silky
smooth delivery is aided by an Assist
Slipper Clutch which ensures jar-free
downshifting and deceleration as well as
quick clutch re-engagement, light lever
load and comfortable clutch action.
SUSPENSION – A fully adjustable 43mm
HMAS cartridge-type front fork contributes
to confident control, while at the rear the gullwing shaped swingarm - long for maximum
traction - is complemented by Honda’s
innovative Unit Pro-Link rear suspension.
