IPedge IPedge Demo Kit The IPedge demo kit provides your Dealership with the ability to easily showcase IPedge system capabilities to your prospects. This compact and lightweight kit provides you with the following: • 1 – IPedge EP Server • 2 – IP5631-SDL Telephones • 1 – Toshiba Netbook • 1 – SMC 8 Port PoE Switch • 5 year SUS included at no charge • All required cables & cords All licenses necessary to demonstrate the following IPedge applications and features are included and pre-loaded in the demo kit server. IPedge Demo Kit Setup • Telephone call processing features • Voicemail and Unified Messaging • Call Manager Standard • Call Manager Advanced • SoftIPT® soft phone • Attendant Console • Enterprise Manager System Administration • Enterprise Manager Personal Administration (EMPA) • Power over Ethernet for IP telephones Follow the procedures below to power on/off the IPedge EP Demo system. WARNING! Not following proper Power Off instructions may cause the system to be inoperable. 1. Remove Toshiba Mini Netbook and top center tray from kit. IPedge Demo Kit 03/12 TOSHIBA 1 IPedge 2. Uncoil all the CAT 5 Network and power cables and remove middle center tray from kit. Note: All CAT 5 cables are pre-connected to the SMC switch. 3. Remove both phones from side compartments. 4. Attach handset cord to the handset for each IP5631-SDL telephone. 2 TOSHIBA IPedge Demo Kit 03/12 IPedge 5. Plug in black CAT5 cable to each IP5631-SDL telephone. LAN Connection from internal switch (optional) LAN Cable Local Power ACO Line (SDC Station only) External Speaker Handset Cord ADM cable Headset Cord The IP5000-series telephones include the special long-tail handset cords required to fit the tilt bases. 6. Plug power cord into Toshiba Mini Netbook. IPedge Demo Kit 03/12 TOSHIBA 3 IPedge 7. Plug gray CAT 5 cable to Toshiba Mini Netbook. 8. Remove IPedge EP from demo kit. 9. Plug IPedge EP, Netbook and SMC switch power cords into power strip. 10. Plug power strip into AC power. 11. Power “ON” the power strip. 12. Press the IPedge front panel power button. IPedge boot-up will require approximately 8 ~ 10 minutes. The system is ready to demo when the phone connect to the IPedge. To power Off the System 1. Press the IPedge system front panel power button for 3 seconds. The IPedge power down will require approximately 5 minutes. 2. Turn off the power strip. 3. Unplug and pack up the telephones. 4 TOSHIBA IPedge Demo Kit 03/12 IPedge Enterprise Manager Personal Administration Use Enterprise Manager and Enterprise Manager Personal Administration (EMPA) to access the IPedge system. 1. The default IP address of the IPedge EP sever is 192.168.254.250, the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. 2. To login to Enterprise Manager, enter http://192.168.254.250:8080/oamp into the browser address line. 3. The User ID is Administrator, the password is password. The password is case sensitive. PC Attendant Console When launching the PCATT, the username is “admin” and the password is blank. Configuration The IPedge Demo Kit has been pre-programmed to demonstrate the most common IPedge call processing features. Refer to the “IPedge Telephone, Messaging and Call Manager User Guide” for how to operate these features. The user guide can be accessed by using EMPA (Enterprise Manager Personal Assistant), logging into a telephone extension and accessing the User Guide option, or from the Toshiba Internet FYI Site. Add an IPedge User Guide to your kit. TOSHIBA IPedge Demo Kit 03/12 IPedge Unified Messaging IPedge Messaging includes 6 mailboxes enabled with unified messaging. To demo unified messaging you will need to have your Toshiba Professional Technician reconfigure the demo kit network settings to be able to access the customer email server or hosted email server on the internet. Trunks IPedge Messaging includes 3 trunk licenses. By adding optional FXO/FXS gateway you will be able to demo inbound and outbound calls using customer provided fax or modem line. AudioCodes Gateway Part Number: MP1144OSIP-BDL Adtran Total Access 900 Series Restoring the IPedge Database The default demo kit database resides on the IPedge server. Follow the instructions below to restore the original demo kit database. 1. Login to Enterprise Manager. Select Application > Webmin. 2. In the Webmin screen select IPedge > Backup and Restore. Click on the Restore icon. 3. In the Restore from Files tab select the server to restore. 4. In the Restore from remote directory, tar, or zip file box enter in \Demokit 5. Click on Restore Now. Webmin will show the message... Done restoring when the restore is complete. Restore Netbook back to factory settings If your Toshiba NB505 series Netbook is having problems because of spyware, virus, or a corrupt operating system, the computer can be restored to factory default settings, giving it what essentially is a clean, new operating system. The factory settings on the NB505 can be restored by using “Toshiba HDD recovery utility” program in a hidden partition on the hard drive. 1. Shut down the Toshiba NB505. Click on the “Start” button on the task bar. 2. Click the “Shut Down” icon. 3. Start the Toshiba NB505 computer with the AC power adapter connected. Do not attempt to restore the laptop using battery power. 4. Press and hold the “0” (zero) key on the laptop keyboard while pressing the power button, to turn on the computer. The “Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility” program will be displayed. 5. Press the “1” (one) key on the keyboard to select the “Restore Original Factory Image” option. 6. Click “Yes” on the confirmation screen. Restoring the original factory image will delete all files and reset the computer to factory default settings. 7. Choose “No” to exit the program without making changes. 8. Press any key on the keyboard after the program finishes to restore the factory default settings. The NB505 netbook will restart. IPedge Demo Kit 03/12 TOSHIBA 7 IPedge Maximizing Screen Space How to hide the windows taskbar The default screen resolution of the Toshiba Mini Netbook is set for maximum of 1024 x 600 which is fine for most applications. If you need to create more space you can hide the taskbar. 1. Right-click on empty space on your taskbar and choose “Properties.” 2. Click the “Taskbar” tab. Your computer should automatically default to this tab. 3. Select the “Auto-hide the taskbar” checkbox. 4. Click “OK.” The taskbar disappears and only reappears when you move the mouse to its location. Connecting Video Projector to Toshiba Mini Netbook After connecting the netbook to a projector, check whether the resolution needs to be adjusted (Start menu> Control Panel> Adjust Screen Resolution). Toggle the display by holding down the “FN” key and pressing F5 function key. SMC Switch Administration The SMC EZ SwitchTM 10/100/1000 (SMCGS8P-Smart) is an 8-port 10/100/ 1000 Gigabit smart switch with PoE that brings the speed of Gigabit Ethernet to the desktop and the flexibility of PoE. 1. Open your web browser and enter the address http://192.168.2.10. 2. Enter the default password “smcadmin” and click on the Login button. The manual can be downloaded from SMC website: www.smc.com. Support Sales Support Contact the Toshiba TSD Sales Applications Desk or Sales Engineer for: • Support on “How to” demo features and applications on the demo system. • To demo applications such as ACD, TASKE and Meeting that are not on the IPedge demo system can be done by requesting an online web demo with the Sales Applications Desk or your Regional Sales Engineer. Toshiba Warranties SMC Warranty Software Upgrade and Support Service (SUS) Toshiba End User License Agreement IPedge Demo Kit 03/12 • The term of the IPedge server standard warranty from Toshiba is one year. The Limited Lifetime Warranty covers a product during the life of that product, which is defined as the period of time during which the product is an ‘Active’ SMC Networks product. A product is considered to be ‘Active’ while it is listed on the current SMC Networks price list.
