“SX-DS-4000U2” (this product).
This setup guide provides information on how to configure
and use this product. Please follow step1-3 to configure this
product.
Before setup, please read carefully the "Safety instructions" in
the online manual included in the CD-ROM to properly
configure this product.

Step1 : Install this product and a USB device
Step 1 explains how to connect this product to a USB Device and the Network.
1.Please prepare the following items:

Ethernet HUB Network cable USB cable
* If this product has been used in another network, reset it to factory default prior to
setup (see below).
2.Connect the network cable from an Ethernet HUB to this product (1).
3.Connect this product and the USB device with a USB cable (2).
* Some USB devices may not be supported depending on the USB device driver
specification. Please refer to our web site for the latest compatibility
information.
* Only 1 device can run on bus power.

4. Connect the power supply to this product (3), and then insert the AC Plug into the electric outlet (4).
Check that POWER LED and LINK LED turn on (5).
* Please only use the AC adaptor provided with this product.
5.1f the USB device requires external power, connect the power supply. Turn on the USB device (6).

C To reset to the factory default settings )
1. Remove the AC plug from the electric outlet.
2. Push and hold the push switch with a fine tipped object such as a pen or pencil
while inserting the AC plug into an outlet. Continue holding.
3. When the LINK LED (Green) starts to blink, the factory default configuration is
complete. Release the push switch.
Step2 : Before setup …
By default, this product is set to obtain an IP address automatically via DHCP.

If you wish to use the automatically obtained IP address, you do not have to configure this product. In such a case, please go on to
install the application (refer to "SX Virtual Link User's Guide" for details).
If you wish to configure the IP address manually or you are not sure if the IP address can be obtained automatically, please continue
to Step3.
* Before moving on to Step3, please temporarily disable the firewalls on your PC as shown below.
The FAQ at our homepage describes how to disable the firewall.
