Automatic Plug-In Timer for E1/E3 Circulators
INSTALLER: PLEASE LEAVE THIS MANUAL FOR THE OWNER’S USE.

FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN A SAFETY HAZARD.
Application
To increase the overall efficiency of a hot water recirculation system, the plug-in timer kit can be installed on any E1 and E3 model circulator. The timer control is programmable to turn the circulator ON and OFF automatically at preset times. This allows domestic hot water to be circulated only at the expected times of high usage.
Operation Limits
For use on Laing models E1 and E3 pumps, indoor use only.
Power Supply: 115-120 VAC, 60Hz, 1Ø
Minimum Switch Interval: 30 Minutes
Run Modes: ON (continuous run), OFF (off at all times) and TIMER (run at programmed intervals)
Timer Installation
1. Disconnect electrical supply to the pump.
WARNING: - ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD - Disconnect and lock out the power before making electrical connections. Failure to follow these instructions could result in serious personal injury or death.
2. Remove screw that holds electrical cover to the pump motor housing. (Figure 1)
3. Remove the cap. The timer assembly will replace the cap.
4. Align insert clip on timer assembly with the insert slot on the pump motor housing.
(Figure 2) Notice the 3 sets of prongs on the timer assembly. These prongs must align with the receptacles on the pump motor housing.
WARNING: The prongs and insert clip are fragile. Do not force the timer kit onto the pump motor housing.
5. Insert screw removed in (1.) into the timer kit screw port. Use a long neck Phillips head screwdriver and hand tighten. (Approximately 3-4 revolutions)

Timer Programming
1. Using a small flat-head screwdriver, pry timer cover open. (Figure 3)
2. Rotate the dial clockwise until the correct time is aligned with the pointer above the dial face. (Figure 4)
3. Program “ON/OFF” times by pulling the tabs outward away from the dial face for the pump to operate “ON” during selected time periods. Push the tabs inward, flush with the dial face for the pump to remain “OFF” during selected time periods. Each timer tab is a
30-minute period.
4. Move the slider to “ON” for constant circulation, “OFF” to turn the circulator off and to for timer operation.
5. In the case of a power outage, the timer must be adjusted for the correct time of day after power is restored.
