Roland Jazz Chorus JC-50 is a 50-watt guitar amplifier with two input jacks, a Bright switch for a variety of tones, and a distortion effect with remote control. eChorus/Vibrato, Reverb and Distortion can be
remote-controlled by footswitches. You can switch
on/off instantly without having to take your hands
from the guitar.
eProvided with phones jack, you can hear through
ordinary monaural or stereo headphones.
e Provided with a Chorus/Vibrato output jack. When
another guitar amplifier is connected to this unit
through this jack, a rich effect of stereo chorus
and vibrato can easily be achieved.

RADIO AND TELEVISION INTERFERENCE

designed to provide reasonable protection against such a interference in a residential installation.

turning the eguipment on and off, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by the
following measure:

the interference by using one or more of the following measures:
® Turn the TV or radio antenna until the interference stops.
* Move the equipment to one side or the other of the TV or radio.
# Move the equipment farther away from the TV or radio.
# Plug the equipment into an outlet that is on a different circuit than the TV or radio. (That is, make
certain the equipment and the radio or television set are On circuits controtied by different cirécit
breakers or fuses.)
# Consider installing 3 rooftop television antenna with coaxial cable lead-in between the antenna and
TV.
If necessary, you should consult your dealer or an experienced radio/television technician for

POWER SWITCH
INPUT JACK
Two input jacks (high and low) are
equipped. For ordinary output guitar,
connect to “HIGH.” For very big output
guitars, connect to “LOW.”
BRIGHT SWITCH
When this switch is set to ON, clearer
sound can be obtained. Thus, the tone
can be changed to hard or soft.
VOLUME
This knob controls volume, Turn cliock-
wise ((3) to increase, and counterclock-
wise (()), to decrease.
TREBLE
This knob controls high range response.
Turn clockwise (O) to lift and counter-
clockwise (M), to cut.
BASS
This knob controls low range response.
Turn clockwise {(3) to lift and counter-
clockwise ( ©), to cut.
DISTORTION
This knob controls distortion. Turn
clockwise { (3) for greater distortion, and
counterclockwise (()) for slight distor-
tion. At OFF position, no distortion is
produced.
REVERB
This knob controls reverberation sound.
Turn clockwise ((3) to increase, and
counterclockwise (()) to decrease.
VIBRATO SPEED
This knob controls speed of vibrato.
Turn clockwise { (3) for faster speed and
counterclockwise { (0) for slower vibrato.

PHONES JACK
Connecting headphones to this jack, no
sound is produced through the speaker.
You can enjoy your playing loud even at
midnight. Stereo headphones can be
used.
DISTORTION FOOTSWITCH JACK
Connect footswitch to this jack and you
can remote-control Distortion to ON or
OFF while in performance.
CHORUS/VIBRATO FOOTSWITCH
JACK
Connect footswitch to this jack and you
can remote-control Chorus or Vibrato,
whichever is set with Chorus/Vibrato
changeover switch on the control panei,
to ON or OFF while in performance.
REVERB FOOTSWITCH JACK
Connect footswitch to this jack and you
can remote-control Reverb to ON or
OFF while in performance.
VIBRATO DEPTH
This knob controls depth of vibrato.
Turn clockwise ((3) for deeper effect.
CHORUS/OFF/VIBRATO CHANGE-
OVER SWITCH
Changeover of chorus-normal-vibrato can
be accomplished simply by touching this
switch.
POWER/POLARITY SWITCH — PILOT
LAMP
Set to ON to run the amplifier. Pilot
lamp lights. If noise or power-line hum is
heard, change the polarity of power
switch.
CHORUS/VIBRATO QUTPUT JACK
When this unit is connected to an ex-
ternal amplifier through the Chorus/
Vibrato output jack, widely expanding
chorus and vibrato effects can be ac-
hieved. The output level is 0dB, and the
following functions are provided.
e This unit must be connected to either
MAIN-IN or LOW INPUT jack of an
external amplifier through the Cho-
rus/Vibrato output jack.
1. When the Chorus/Vibrato selector
switch is OFF, normal sound is pro-
duced from the JC-50, and sound
identical to that from the REC OUT
jack of the JC-50 is produced from
the external amplifier.
2. When the mode select switch remains
On, the unit outputs only the normal
and reverb sounds, while the external
amplifier outputs either the chorus or
vibrato effect sound oniy (whereas
the reverb sound is not sent out at

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
If your unit does not operate properly, take proper action
consulting the table below. The symptom listed would be
caused by mistake in using the unit. If the trouble cannot
be remedied even after the actions are taken as instructed, or
if there is any symptom other than those listed, make contact
with the shop where you bought your JC-50.
