High risk!

Failure to observe the warning may result in severe personal injury or death.

Moderate risk! Failure to observe the warning may result in property damage.

Minor risk! Points which should be observed when handling the unit.

Danger Risk of electric shock!

Faulty installation of electrical equipment or mains voltage which is too high can cause electric shocks.

• The device is suitable for use with a power supply voltage of 230 V~/50 Hz. When connecting, make sure that the right voltage is present. See the name plate for details.

• Check the unit regularly for damage.

Immediately disconnect the power plug/the AC adapter plug and do not operate the unit if its housing or the supply cable is defective or exhibits other visible damages.

• If the unit emits smoke or smells of burning or other unusual odours, disconnect it immediately from the power supply and do not operate it.

• Set up the unit so that the mains plug is easily accessible and no vent slots are blocked.

• Never open the unit’s housing.

Repairs may only be carried out by an authorised specialist workshop. Only parts which conform with the original device specifications may be used for repairs. There are electrical and mechanical parts in this unit which are necessary in order to avoid exposure to sources of danger.

• Only use the accessory products specified by the manufacturer.

• Do not insert any objects through the vent slots in the housing.

• Only use the unit in indoor areas.

• Do not operate the unit in moist areas and protect it from drops of water and splash water.

Also take care not to stand vases or other containers filled with liquid on or near the speaker in order to avoid liquid getting into the case. If water or other foreign objects have entered into the unit, immediately disconnect the mains adapter and if applicable, remove any batteries. Then send the device in to our service address.

• Never touch the power plug/the AC adapter plug with wet hands.

• Only place the subwoofer on the floor.

• If you want to use underframes or speaker stands, only use those recommended by the manufacturer.

• When storing the product, also ensure that it stands safely and that it cannot be knocked down or over.

Danger to hearing!

Loud noise may lead to hearing loss.

Very high noise pressure may suddenly be emitted, especially if a subwoofer is activated and set to full volume. This may have psychological consequences and also cause physical injury. Children and pets are particularly at risk.

• Set the volume control of your signal source to a low setting.

• When the volume is set high, always keep a certain distance from the unit and never place your ear directly on the speaker.

• To avoid damage to health, avoid extended listening at high volume.

Unpacking, setup and connection

Unpacking

• Open the box carefully, lift out the speaker together with the

EPE foam parts carefully and remove the foam parts without reaching into the diaphragms.

Setup notes

Note

Our website contains comprehensive notes for correct setup.

• Select a stable, level base.

• Make sure that the environment is clean and free from dust.

• Avoid placing the unit close to sources of heat or in direct sunlight.

• Arrange the connector cables so that they do not pose a trip hazard.

• Do not place any heavy objects on the cables or the speaker.

• The location of the subwoofer can be freely selected and does not influence the other speakers. However, do not place it in the corner of a room as this may cause uncontrollable frequency overloads. A location between the front speakers is often ideal.

• Make sure that the speaker has a stable position to prevent vibrations.

Setup as a PC system

When using the unit as a PC sound system, concentrating on emitting sound directly at the PC workstation is advisable, that is, the area where the monitor and listener are located.

Please position the speakers within the grey areas.

Connecting the subwoofer

Danger Danger of injury/damage!

Arrange the cables so that they do not pose a trip hazard.

1. Pull the power plug of all devices to be connected out of the socket to prevent accidental activation.

2. Connect the LINE IN jacks 6 of the subwoofer to the 5.1 output jacks of a preamplifier, such as a DecoderStation or

ControlStation, using the enclosed RCA connector cables.

In the process, make sure that you always connect jacks of the same name with each other (e.g. Center / Center or

Subwoofer / Sub).

Connecting satellite speakers

Make sure the polarity is correct!

Connect the like coloured terminals. Otherwise the sound quality will suffer.

The strands of the speaker cables are marked with different colours or shapes.

1. The connector terminals 4 for the satellite speakers are located on the back side of the subwoofer.

Run the enclosed speaker cables from the subwoofer to each satellite speaker.

Small tip: Label the cables on the subwoofer side. This will help when taking down and setting up the system.

2. Split the speaker cables down to approx. 30 mm on both ends and remove approx. 10 mm of insulation.

3. Twist the stripped cable ends so that no wires are protruding.

Tin coating is not necessary.

4. Push down the connector terminal levers and run the stripped cable ends into the corresponding holes. When releasing the lever, the cable ends will be locked.

Connect all cables to the subwoofer in this way.

5. Connect the other ends of the speaker cables to the satellite speakers. You should find notes on the procedure in the corresponding operating instructions.

Connecting to a power supply

• Ensure that the mains switch 10 “Power” on the subwoofer is switched off (“0 OFF” position).

• Connect the mains connector jack 8 with a mains socket using the power cord.

• In addition, reconnect the power plug of your preamplifier

(DecoderStation or ControlStation) to the socket.
