Bluetooth Virtual keyboard (VKB) Quick Start Guide For the full User Guide please refer to the CD menu or to our website. http://www.itechdynamic.com/html/user_corner.htm 6. At the prompt from the device and/or following the “beep” prompt from the VKB, key in the same passkey on both the host device and the VKB. (NOTE: The VKB can only be paired with one Bluetooth device at a time). The pairing procedure is completed. Before using your VKB Virtual Keyboard: • • Your Virtual Keyboard will need to be charged for at least 2 hours. Ensure that you remove all protective materials including the protection sheet on the laser windows. A summary of the set-up procedure: • • • • • • Insert CD. Choose device from screen. Transfer driver file to the device using chosen method: cable, infra-red, Bluetooth, memory card, etc. Pair VKB with device. Run driver program. Use keyboard. Installing the software driver on your device 1. Insert the CD to a CD-ROM drive on your computer; this should run automatically however if it does not start by itself, please open the CD and run setup.exe. 2. Follow the on-screen instructions and transfer the driver file to your device using the appropriate method. Running the VKB Software Driver 7. Locate and click on the VKB icon ( ) which can be found in the following locations: • PalmOS5 – under Systems • PocketPC2003 – under Programs • SmartPhone2003 – in the Main Menu • Windows – on the Desktop, Launch Bar or System Tray • Symbian Series60 – in the Main Menu • Symbian UIQ2.x - in the Main Menu 8. On the Connection page select the Bluetooth connection for the VKB. 9. On the VKB page, ensure that the 5 Enable Keyboard box is checked. At the prompt, "Is the first time connecting to this keyboard?”, select YES. Your Bluetooth device is now ready to work with the Virtual Keyboard. Changing the Settings on your VKB Pairing the Virtual Keyboard (VKB) 3. Place the VKB on a solid, flat surface and turn on using the button located on the upper left side of the unit. (NOTE: a microswitch built into the bottom of the VKB will automatically turn it off when lifted). 4. Begin the Bluetooth pairing process on the device (host) with which you wish to use your VKB. (If necessary, refer to the instructions for the host device). 5. Locate and select “VKB Keyboard”. Please refer to the full VKB User Guide for guidance on how to: • modify the sensitivity of the keyboard • adjust the brightness of the keyboard • set the repeat key delay and frequency • use shortcut keys on the keyboard • troubleshoot any issues with use Ver. 1.1 Preparing the VKB to be paired with a different device Once the keyboard has been paired and connected to a host device, to pair the keyboard with a different host device, turn the keyboard on, and on the projected image press the keys ×+Fn+B simultaneously for 3 seconds. The keyboard will emit a short beep and the LED will flash blue to indicate it is ready for pairing with another device. Ver. 1.1 Ver. 1.1
