Phone Guidelines ✦  Housing students are expected to provide their own cell phone as phone service is not provided in the residence halls. User Accounts ✦  User accounts are automatically generated for all students. ✦  The network user account is used to log onto all Lipscomb resources including my.Lipscomb.edu, student email, Blackboard, student wireless network, and campus lab computers (all using our single sign on with Active Directory). ✦  To look up the username or change the password, go to http://passwordreset.lipscomb.edu . ✦  Students must have their Lipscomb ID number (i.e. L12345678) in order to use this web service. ✦  We require the password to meet strong password requirements but they will not expire. will be the student’s username followed by @mail.lipscomb.edu The Lipscomb email account will be the primary method of communication from the University and should be checked regularly. To access Lipscomb email, go to gmail.com and enter the full email address (i.e. username@mail.lipscomb.edu) and Lipscomb password. Lipscomb s Google Apps service allows for a combined usage of 30 GB of mail and file storage per student. Students should use Google Drive to store their personal documents such as class assignments or should provide their own flash drive. Google Drive is great for collaboration as documents can be shared for view or edit with other users. 8

Wireless Network ✦  802.11 g/n Wireless network covers the entire campus, including all major green areas. ✦  User authentication is required to connect. Students must set their network password at http://passwordreset.lipscomb.edu prior to attempting to connect for the first time. ✦  Computers and mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets should connect to the LUBisonNet Network. ✦  Game Consoles, wifi capable AV equipment and wireless printers should be connected to the LipscombGuest Network. ✦  Older wifi capable devices that were designed for home use may not be compatible with our network. Printing ✦  Monochrome Laser printers are available in the labs of each residence hall and classroom lab. ✦  Color printers are available in specialty department labs. ✦  Pay per print color printers are available outside the Connection (Post Office) & the Library ✦  Printers are accessible from any lab system as well as the student wireless network ✦  Scan to email is available in the library Summer, 2014

Printing Quotas ✦  Page quotas are in place to reduce waste. ✦  Each enrolled student is allocated a $30 quota per semester for printing to lab printers ✦  Monochrome prints $.05 per page ✦  Color prints $.50 per page ✦  Additional quota can be charged to the student’s account at my.lipscomb.edu if needed. ✦  Lab computers have a limit of 99 pages per print request to prevent large accidental print jobs. ✦  Students can check their remaining quota, see their printing history, locate a lab printer, and submit a print job from the web at http://
