Description for CPS Testing
CPS means “TCP connections established per second”. CPS testing is mainly measure the
ability of DUT process. The more TCP connections been established, the more strong ability DUT
has.
Usually we close the TCP by RST since we often attend much on the TCP establishing. FIN
close is also support.

Create new testing
Create new project in Avalanche Commander. Please don't select “Add ThreatEx profiles to
New Project” since we will not involve ThreatEx tesing here.
Create a new test. Note that selecting “Device” in Step 3 and selecting “Advance” in Step 4.

Create configuration with HTTP request
Create Action
Create “Action_1” under ClientÆActions as:
“1 get http://192.168.10.10/index.html”

Create user profile named “User_1” under ClientÆProfiles

Change Client Network parameter
Enable “Piggyback Get Requests” to send ACT and GET in the same packet.
Note:
(1) Should confirm if DUT support the feature.
(2) Could check trace of Trail-Run to find the difference.
(3) Parameters under Network is for each individual testing, not for all the testing under
the same project. This is different as Action or Profile

Create client subnet。
Create client subnet named as “subnet_0000” under ClientÆSubnet, and add the default
gateway.

Create Test port for client
Select “Add Port” under ClinetÆPorts, and add test port for client side.

Create new Association under ClientÆAssociations. You can add many association in a test.

We usually test with Connection/s Specification
Note: Should use SimUsers or SimUsers/sec except HTTP and HTTPS testing.

Q1. Could Avalanche support TCP without HTTP?
Yes, support. That is Turbo TCP.
Q2. What is the performance of tester?
Different tester has different performance. You need to get the performance from Spirent
SE.
Q3. Why we cannot reach the max performance?
Create performance test from ToolsÆGenerate Performance Test
