WHEN INSPIRATION MEETS SUBSTANCE,
EXCELLENCE RESULTS.
The Insignia look gives the range an unmistakable aesthetic. There are four distinct models to
choose from: the elegant 4-door Notchback, the streamlined 5-door Hatchback, the extra-spacious
Sports Tourer and the state-of-the-art Country Tourer with off-road protection. Every Insignia
bears our flagship’s compelling signature.
EVERY MOVEMENT
HAS ITS ICONS.
Every Insignia is a classic of its kind. At the pinnacle of the range
stands the Country Tourer. A blend of design and refined technologies, it’s a beautifully balanced car. Sophisticated protective
systems safeguard your investment, including all-round anthracite
cladding. Off-road tyres, brash alloys and the 4x4 All Wheel Drive
badge hint at the power play yet to come. In addition, you can
get the rugged looks of the Country Tourer with front-wheel drive
and optional FlexRide.
EXCELLENCE ISN’T
A STATEMENT.
IT’S A STATE OF MIND.
As an Insignia driver you insist on attention to detail. Our flagship
responds with a tailored interior and a rich variety of handpicked
materials. Add multi-adjustable AGR1 ergonomic front sports
seat options and enjoy business-class travel without ever leaving
the lounge.
The AGR certificate is a seal of quality awarded by an independent testing committee
made up of experts from various medical disciplines.

A REVOLUTION IN
INSTRUMENTATION.
The Insignia brings your whole digital life into your car. A rare combination of sophistication and user friendliness connects you to the world. A touch of a button, a tap on
the touch screen or a voice command effortlessly controls phone calls, music streaming
and navigation. Phone projection brings your smartphone to the touch screen. Very
fast response means the whole system works almost at the speed of thought. Intuitive,
convenient and logical, it simplifies every operation leaving your hands and eyes free
for the road.
ENGINEERED TO
MOVE MILES.
Insignia leads the way in clean, sustainable excitement. Thanks to advanced emission
control and Opel ecoFLEX technologies, the Insignia offers outstanding eco-friendly
performance.
The 1.6 litre diesel engines with 88 kW (120 hp) and 100 kW (136 hp) use maintenance-free
Lean NOx Trap (LNT) technology to reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions. If you want
even more green diesel power, choose the 2.0 litre diesel with BlueInjection technology,
125 kW (170 hp) and 400 Nm torque. It uses the additive AdBlue®, which reacts with
NOx to produce harmless nitrogen and water.
Of course, there is also no shortage of petrol power. The 2.0 Turbo ECOTEC® Direct
Injection puts 184 kW (250 hp) and 400 Nm at your disposal, while optional FlexRide
lets you recalibrate the car for a more dynamic driving style.
Whichever technology you choose – and however you drive: the Insignia moves you
forward in the most progressive way.
AdBlue® is a registered trademark of the Verband der Automobilindustrie e.V. (VDA), the German Association of
the Automotive Industry.
THE END OF THE END
OF THE ROAD.
When tarmac turns to turf, one Insignia is ready. First-class All Wheel Drive technologies
make the Country Tourer the consummate adventurer, including FlexRide and electronic
Limited Slip Differential on the rear axle. In polite company, silver skid plates, increased
chassis height and chrome headlight accents ensure its rugged good looks never look
out of place. With 360° anti-chip cladding, it’s always immaculately dressed for dinner.
CONTROLLERS
WELCOME.
The smarter your sensors, the smoother your trip. The Insignia
puts the next generation of driver assistance systems at your
fingertips. The radar-based options Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Side
Blind Zone Alert and Lane Change Alert ensure you can reverse or
change lanes with confidence. With our proactive systems running
their checks, in any driving situation you can relax.
YOUR CAR SPEAKS HANDS-FREE.
The Insignia’s advanced multimedia options break down all barriers between car, driver and digital content.
Effectively, they transform the way you and your Insignia interact. A customisable information cluster replaces a pre-set
default interface, allowing you to access the information that suits you best with just one click. Phone projection
displays your smartphone functions on the touch screen for easy and safe operation. For minimum distraction and
convenience, the Navi 900 IntelliLink sat nav comes with one-shot voice commands for navigation, phone calls and
audio choice.
The instrumentation options in the Insignia have started a category revolution – offering intuitive, in-car access to
your home and work. And because intuitive means different things to different people, the system is fully customisable.
You can prioritise icons and cherry-pick information on the centre stack display just as you would on a new computer.
You can store up to 60 favourites, from contacts to radio stations, playlists or a great new coffee bar.

18 | Revolutionary Connectivity
Insignia.
For many Insignia drivers, it’s the little luxuries in the interior that
make their car so special. Like the 7-speaker R300 infotainment
system and 4.2˝ (10.7 cm) centre stack colour display that come
standard with the entry-level Insignia Trim Line. You can adjust
the height of the driver’s seat electrically and all three rear seats
are fitted with ISOFIX anchors.
Next to a lively 103 kW (140 hp) 1.8 litre petrol engine and safety
must-haves like ESP® and ABS, the Insignia can claim an excellent
level of supplied equipment. You can access mobile digital devices
like an MP3 player1 via aux-in or control your music directly on the
dashboard via USB. The system can automatically adjust volume
and bass with the speed of the car.

equipped Opel. From the dual-zone Electronic Climate Control
system to finer design details such as the chrome fittings around
the side windows.
When it comes to making light of your everyday journey, the
Cosmo is king. It comes with the Sight Pack as standard, so the
windscreen wipers automatically respond when it starts to rain,
the rear-view mirror prevents glare and the headlights switch on
when you enter a tunnel. The Cosmo comes with fog lamps that
make your car easier to see in bad visibility. The air conditioning
and trim are no less regal. For details, turn to page 62.

Less talk. More Sport.
The Opel Insignia OPC is where style and athleticism become one. With three different body styles
to choose from you can decide how much interior space you need whilst having the same elegant
and sporty substance synonymous with the OPC credential. The Insignia OPC comes roaring with
a turbocharged V6 239 kW (325 hp) engine that will certainly keep your pulse racing. The lowered
chassis enables the more agile driving dynamic and sharper response time you expect in a full-on
sports car. Specifically tuned for OPC, the FlexRide adjusts the chassis for different driving dynamics.
All Wheel Drive capability including electronic Limited Slip Differential ensures superior
traction even under difficult road conditions. The Brembo four-piston callipers with 355 mm
front disc brakes give immediate response. Whether it’s the Hatchback, Notchback or
Sports Tourer, the Insignia OPC will get your adrenalin pumping.
Your territory.
Your rules.
Inside the Insignia OPC you’ll notice something you can’t quite
put your finger on. Is it the Recaro front seats, sports pedals
or the OPC branded sill plates? Perhaps it’s the stitched leatherwrapped steering wheel and gear stick? Actually, it’s the sum
of all these great features: outstanding ergonomics.

HEADLIGHTS WITH FORESIGHT.
As an Insignia owner, you have access to a comprehensive range of sophisticated driver aids,
such as the optional intelligent Bi-Xenon Adaptive Forward Lighting Plus (AFL+) headlight system.
AFL+ makes driving at night less stressful. Using a front-mounted camera, rain sensor and steering
angle input, it improves visibility and safety by automatically adjusting the strength of your headlights to different speeds, manoeuvres, weather conditions and traffic situations.
As a headlamp-based technology, AFL+ includes LED Daytime Running Lights and the Sight Pack,
which further enhances safety and comfort in the dark. It consists of an anti-glare mirror and tunnel
detection, which automatically switches on your headlights in a tunnel. The pack also comes with
a rain sensor for the windscreen wipers and headlamp washers to ensure your headlights are fully
effective in bad weather.
1. Static Cornering Light. Throws light 90° to
the left or right so you can see better what’s
around the corner.
2. Dynamic Curve Light. The headlights turn
into the curve by up to 15°. Activated by steering
angle and speed.
3. High Beam with Assist (HBA). HBA automatically dips your headlights when it detects other
vehicles ahead and switches back to high beam
when the road is clear.
4. Adverse Weather Light. Activated by wipers
or a rain sensor, this setting improves vision in
wet weather.
5. Highway Light. Raises, brightens and extends
the beam to 140 metres – without blinding other
drivers.
6. Country Road Light. Wider and brighter than
normal, for a 70-metre dazzle-free beam.
7. Town Light. Spreads the light wider and lower.
Activated by vehicle speed and street lighting.
8. Pedestrian Area Light. Highlights potential
hazards with a wider spread of light (an extra
8° left and right).
Adaptive Forward Lighting Plus | 37
MOTIONAL
INTELLIGENCE.
Forward thinking is all about not looking back. The Insignia’s optional assistive technologies put you in control and your mind at
ease. Adaptive Cruise Control with Speed Limiter (ACC) helps maintain a set distance to the car ahead – and can even stop, prompt
and pull away for you in bumper-to-tail traffic1. In addition to the widely praised Opel Eye and AFL+, the Insignia breaks new ground
with three advanced radar-based systems: Lane Change Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Forward Collision Alert (FCA).
ACC is an advanced, proactive version of conventional cruise
control for preventing bumper-to-tail collisions at speeds between
25 and 180 km/h. It uses a powerful radar sensor to automatically
maintain a safe gap (chosen by you) to the vehicle in front. ACC
also incorporates Forward Collision Alert. If you approach slowermoving vehicles too fast at speeds above walking speed, FCA
automatically triggers visual and audible warnings. FCA includes
Collision Imminent Braking technology that automatically applies
the brakes gently – and makes them more sensitive in case you
have to brake hard yourself.
Lane Change Alert (LCA). LCA uses a powerful radar to monitor
parallel lanes to a distance of approx. 70 metres behind your
car. If you indicate to change lanes, a symbol blinks in the side
mirror to warn of any fast-approaching vehicles you may not
have seen.
With optional Full Speed Range Adaptive Cruise Control (FSRA), available with automatic transmissions only.
1
38 | Assistive Systems
Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA). As you reverse, RCTA uses radars
to detect objects approaching from the back and side of your
car, up to 20 metres away at a 90° angle. The speakers emit
a tone on the relevant side and an icon appears on the same
side of the Rear View Camera display.
1.
2.
Side Blind Zone Alert (SBZA). SBZA similarly uses radar in the
rear bumper. It monitors both blind spots and activates a light
in the side mirror if it detects a vehicle closer than approximately
5 metres behind, or about 3.5 metres to the side of, the side
mirrors. If you indicate on that side, the light flashes as an additional warning.
1. Traffic Sign Assistant II (TSA, via Opel Eye). TSA monitors road signs to make sure you’re aware of the speed limit
and other restrictions all the time, even when temporary signs are put up. This enhanced version of TSA can read more
signs in more countries than ever before, including electronic signs over motorways.
2. Rear View Camera (RVC). The optional RVC makes reversing easy. A high-res display shows the area behind the car
while a scaled grid helps you judge distances and angles.
Assistive Systems | 39
1.
SAFETY? CHECK.
The Insignia proactively helps shield you and your family in the event of
an emergency. Optional aids like Advanced Park Assist and steering wheelmounted controls – for head-up operation of car systems – help prevent
accidents and make driving as comfortable, convenient and safe as possible.
2.
1. Advanced Park Assist. This assistant will not only detect suitably sized spaces
for your Insignia, with the help of graphics and acoustic signals it will tell you
how far backwards and forwards to drive and even show you how far to turn the
wheel. All you do is work the accelerator, choose first or reverse gear, and steer.
2. Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The TPMS registers pressure in
each individual tyre. If the pressure drops, the affected wheel is indicated on
the driver’s information cluster.
40 | Passenger Protection
Safety all round. Inside the Insignia, you and your passengers benefit from
adult and child protection features such as full airbag coverage, ISOFIX and
safety assistive technologies. For example, four-way active headrests that
significantly reduce the risk of whiplash injuries to front-seat passengers in
the event of a rear-impact collision. Your seat back detects the impact,
then quickly moves the headrest forwards to minimise head movement and
cushion your neck.
Passenger Protection | 41
FLUID TORQUE
TRANSFER.
GRIP LIKE GLUE.
The Insignia is a driver’s car with the engineering to fire real driving
passion. Powerful engines get the grip they deserve, especially in tandem
with 4x4 Adaptive All Wheel Drive (AWD) and the accompanying lowered
FlexRide chassis.
Adaptive All Wheel Drive. Fit your Insignia with ‘active on demand’ 4x4 Adaptive
All Wheel Drive (AWD) and you’ll enjoy increased driving stability in challenging
conditions. AWD uses sensors to monitor the relative speed of the wheels, then
a sophisticated Torque Transfer Device automatically distributes torque between
the front and rear axle.
The heightened stability and traction of AWD are further enhanced by the
electronic Limited Slip Differential that enables individual torque vectoring for
the rear wheels. Together, these technologies deliver faster acceleration and
the motorsport kick of genuine rear-wheel driving.
42 | Adaptive All Wheel Drive
1. FlexRide Adaptive Damping Control. Every Insignia with AWD also comes
with Opel FlexRide technology. One touch of the Sport button changes the
whole driving dynamics of your Insignia – from ‘Normal’ or ‘Tour’ to ‘Sport’
and back again. Using Continuous Damping Control (CDC) technology,
FlexRide automatically adjusts the damper settings in real time to give you
excellent road holding. In ‘Tour’ mode, it chooses the best settings for gentler,
straight-line driving. Switch to ‘Sport’ mode and it instantly stiffens the
dampers and sharpens the response of the steering, accelerator and automatic transmission (if fitted).

In the Insignia, dreams of fast, effortless access to entertainment
come true. Even more impressive are the features you might

any reason, Opel offers an exhaustive range of dedicated extras and accessories to help you do just that.

1. Thule bicycle carrier. A sturdy hitch-mounted carrier is easy to attach and takes up to three bikes,
with trailer electrics and an extension and for a fourth bike available if need be. Tilt the carrier
backwards to access the boot.
2.– 4. FlexConnect. Keep your car tidier, clothes neater, shopping protected or the rear passengers
happier. A separate universal base carrier attached to either of the front seats enables a wide
range of comfort and convenience features for front and back seat passengers. A clothes hanger
(2) takes care of your jacket and a universal hook lets you hang smaller baggage or shopping
neatly behind the seat. For the rear passengers a folding picnic table (3) with integrated cupholder
offers a stable resting place for smaller journey needs. And for more entertainment holders for
your iPad (4) or iPad mini are a cool addition to the package.
4.
6.
5. Hard cargo tray. This tough tray helps keep the boot clean and tidy. The edge has a lip to stop
liquids spilling onto the carpet. Add nets or dividers to organise your gear.
6. Slide-out Flex Floor extension. This clever accessory extends the boot space of the Sports or
Country Tourer out over the bumper so you can load heavy objects without leaning forward and
potentially straining your back. Simply place up to 120 kg of luggage on the extension then push it
back into the boot.

Whichever way you look at it, the Insignia’s athletic
contours and muscular stance hold the promise of
agile handling and an exciting drive. But if you like
your car to wear its high-octane heart on its sleeve,
there’s no substitute for the motorsport styling of an
Opel Performance Center (OPC) Line Pack.
1. OPC Line Interior Pack. Take your seat with black under your legs, black over your head, an OPC Line
gear stick in your hand and gleaming OPC Line racing pedals under your feet. Driving an automatic is
more thrilling when you can change gear using Formula One-style paddles1 with both hands gripping
an OPC Line leather steering wheel. The OPC Line packs can be factory fitted or added post-delivery
as accessories. Enjoy.
2. OPC Line Exterior Pack. Add to the adrenaline with an OPC Line rear spoiler2, OPC Line side sills
and OPC Line lower skirts front and rear. The ultimate flourish? The visible dual chrome exhaust3.
3. Recaro sports seats4. Perforated black leather with heating, 8-way adjustment and 4-way lumbar
support. AGR certified for the good of your back. Powered, with driver’s seat memory and seat cushion
extension. The range-topping Recaro sports seats add much more than mere style – they are also the
perfect ending to high-mileage stress.

abundance. It sets an exemplary mark for low CO2 emissions and the 125 kW (170 hp) 1.6 litre

automatic 6-speed gearboxes as well as front-wheel drive and Adaptive 4x4 All Wheel Drive.

All information was accurate and up to date at the time of going to print. The company reserves the right to alter engine specifications at any time, which may influence the content of the shown data. Please consult your Opel dealer for the latest information. All figures
quoted relate to the EU base model with standard equipment. Fuel consumption data and CO2 emission data are determined according to regulations R (EC) No. 715/2007 and R (EC) No. 692/2008 (in the versions respectively applicable), taking into consideration the
vehicle weight in running order, as specified by the regulations. Additional equipment and factory-fitted options may lead to slightly higher results than the stated consumption and CO2 figures. The figures for fuel consumption and CO2 emissions do not relate to a specific
vehicle and are not part of an offer. They are provided only for the purpose of comparison between different vehicles but may differ from the actual fuel consumption achieved in real-world driving conditions which are greatly influenced by driving style and operating
conditions. Additional equipment and factory-fitted options may increase the weight of the vehicle when empty and in some cases the permissible axle weights as well as the permissible total weight of the vehicle and reduce the permissible towing weights. This may
lead to a reduction in top speed and increased acceleration time. Driving performance figures assume a 75 kg driver plus a 125 kg load.

Vehicles with BlueInjection technology will need regular AdBlue® top-ups also in between recommended service intervals. Low-emission ecoFLEX models. ecoFLEX technology delivers not just outstanding aerodynamics and reduced internal losses, but also ultra-low CO2
emissions for the 1.6 litre diesel engine with 100 kW (136 hp). That makes the
Insignia one of the cleanest cars in the category. Page 56.
4x4 All Wheel Drive (AWD) System. Optional AWD increases driving stability
by redistributing torque in challenging conditions. FlexRide recalibrates AWD
and chassis settings for different driving styles while electronic Limited Slip
Differential redirects torque to one or both rear wheels.1 Page 42.
Radar-based driver aids. Optional Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic
Alert and Lane Change Alert make driving safer and easier in a variety of
driving and parking situations, by monitoring hard-to-see areas to the side
and rear of your car. Page 38.
Adaptive Forward Lighting AFL+. Opel’s award-winning lighting system makes
driving safer and less stressful by automatically adjusting the headlamps to all
road, traffic and weather conditions for optimum view. Page 36.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). An optional, advanced, radar-based version
of conventional cruise control for preventing bumper-to-tail collisions up to
180 km/h. ACC automatically maintains a safe gap to the vehicle in front. With
automatic transmissions, its Stop/Go feature makes light of very slow-moving
traffic. Page 38.
Rear View Camera. The optional RVC makes reversing easy. A high-res display
shows the area behind the car while a scaled grid helps you judge distances
and angles. For maximum safety and comfort, combine this feature with radarbased driver aids. Page 39.
Keyless Open and Start. The ideal feature when you’re in a hurry. User Identification Interface technology recognises when your key is very near the car and
automatically opens the door when you work the handle. Push-button ignition
is also easy and key-free.
¹Electronic Limited Slip Differential and FlexRide come standard with AWD.
