Phone Power-up Cable – User Instructions

Overview

Cellebrite's "Phone Power-up Cable" is used to power up mobile devices through a UFED or UFED TOUCH unit, during an extraction.

You will find it useful when:

Extracting data from a phone with a drained battery

Extracting data from a phone with a missing battery

Extracting data from a phone without a charger

Conducting a long extraction

Specification

The "Phone Power-up Cable" is made up of three joined cables:

"Data" cable "Extra Power" cable a cable that ends in 2 negative black clip and a positive red clip

Usage

1. Remove the battery from the phone and locate the positive and negative terminals in the battery housing.

You can sometimes find them according to markings on the phone.

2. If the battery contacts are not clearly marked on the phone, use the markings on the battery to mark the terminals.

Place or flip the battery and place it along the edge of the battery housing.

3. Carefully connect the red clip to the positive terminal and the black clip to the negative terminal.

4. Connect the longer, remaining black clip between the two other clips, in adjacent to the negative clip.

5. Connect the "Extra Power" cable to the UFED TOUCH's back USB port.

6. Connect the "Data" cable to the

UFED TOUCH's Source USB port.

7. Find the cable tip that fits your phone's data port, according to tip number shown on the instruction screen on the UFED TOUCH or

UFED unit.

8. Connect the relevant cable tip to the phone.

9. Connect the tip to an Adapter USB cable.

10. Connect the adapter cable to the female USB connector of the

Phone Power-up Cable.

You will hear a beeping sound from UFED TOUCH or UFED unit, indicating that the mobile device has been detected.

11. Go back to the UFED TOUCH's or

UFED's screen, and click OK to continue the extraction process.
