HD Audio Format Decoding
The YSP-3300 decodes HD Audio signals to ensure that you hear the best possible sound from Blu-ray Disc
players, as well as from all other digital sources.
10 CINEMA DSP Programs
Yamaha’s ultra-sophisticated CINEMA DSP technology creates thrillingly realistic soundscapes in any room.
You can select 10 different programs, including three "Movie," three "Music" and four "Entertainment" programs.
Versatile Listening Modes
The YSP-3300 achieves true surround sound by directing sound beams off walls to reach the listener from various angles. The main mode
is 5 BeamPlus2 for 7-channel sources. In addition, there are a wide variety of other listening modes. You can select Stereo + 3
BeamPlus2, 5 Beam, Stereo + 3 Beam, 3 Beam, Stereo, Target and My Surround.
IntelliBeam Automatically Sets the Optimum Sound Field
This Yamaha exclusive feature ensures optimum multichannel sound reproduction with
accurate image location. By monitoring and analyzing the sound with the microphone
included with the YSP-3300, IntelliBeam automatically sets the best beam angles, while
optimizing the level and frequency response of each beam. This makes initial setup both
extremely simple and acoustically perfect.
HDMI (4 in/1 out) with 4K Pass-through and 3D
Four HDMI inputs mean you can connect four high quality digital sources, each with just a single cable. The inputs support 4K
pass-through, which allows the transmission of next-generation super high-resolution images and the transmission of 3D video.
Compressed Music Enhancer
When music is encoded into a digitally compressed format like MP3, the frequency response suffers. This function restores what was lost,
so your music always sounds the way it should.

can be used in either a horizontal or a vertical position, providing additional flexibility. This
is a convenient subwoofer that delivers powerful, high-quality bass sound.
HDMI CEC Functionality
When connected to a CEC-compatible TV, the YSP-3300 will turn on and off together with the TV and you can use the TV remote unit to
control the volume. CEC also provides advanced functionality with other components.
TV Remote Repeater for Signal Transmission
Even if the YSP-3300 blocks the TV’s remote control signal, the TV Remote Repeater on
the rear transmits the signal to the TV so operation is not affected.
Memory Function for Recording Up to Three of Your Favorite Settings
You can store three groups of settings for quick recall. Settings include playback mode, CINEMA DSP mode and IntelliBeam
measurement results.

Dolby TrueHD
Dolby® TrueHD is Dolby’s next-generation lossless technology developed for high-definition disc-based
media. Dolby TrueHD delivers tantalizing sound that is bit-for-bit identical to the studio master, unlocking
the true high-definition entertainment experience on next-generation discs. When coupled with
high-definition video, Dolby TrueHD offers an unprecedented home theater experience that lets you enjoy
sound as stunning as the high-definition picture.
DTS-HD® featured products have the ability to decode all streams required for DTS-HD Master Audio™
but may have limitations in channel output and/or sampling frequency; or may utilize unique post
HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is the first and only industry-supported, uncompressed,
all-digital audio/video interface. With the ability to deliver crystal-clear, all-digital audio and video via a
single cable, HDMI dramatically simplifies cabling and helps provide consumers with the highest-quality
home theater experience. HDMI can provide an interface between most audio/video sources, such as a set-top box, Blu-ray Disc player,
DVD player or AV receiver and a video monitor, such as a High-Definition Television (HDTV), over a single cable.
Depending on the model of product, HDMI can support standard, enhanced or high-definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a
single cable. It can support all currently-available compressed audio formats (such as Dolby Digital and DTS) and most newer HDMI
devices can support lossless digital audio formats like Dolby® TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio™.

The Digital Sound Projector applies sophisticated Digital Sound Projection Technology to precisely control
the orientation of the sound by focusing it into beams. The sound is both direct and reflected off the walls
so the listener hears sound from the front, sides and back. The result is true multi-channel surround sound
that sounds just like a multi-speaker system — without the need for extra speakers!
"Digital Sound Projector" and the 1 limited logo are trademarks of Cambridge Mechatoronics Ltd.
Conventional multichannel audio reproduction systems base their sound on Dolby Digital and DTS
decoding, using matrix and steering technologies to create surround sound effects. Yamaha CINEMA DSP
is much more advanced, actually creating richly realized independent sound fields that envelop you in an
unmatched surround sound experience. With dialogue, music and effects from ideally located in these separate sound fields, you will hear
sound with accurate placement, smooth movement, exceptional clarity and richness, and startlingly realistic presence. It will seem as if the
walls of your room have disappeared and you are in the middle of your own immense theater! The decoding circuitry performs Dolby Pro
Logic IIx, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, DTS Digital Surround, DTS-ES (DTS-ES Matrix 6.1 and DTS-ES Discrete 6.1), DTS Neo:6 and
DTS 96/24 decoding with extreme accuracy, as well as all digital sound field processing.
yAired technology uses lossless (uncompressed) signal transmission to achieve wireless sound quality that
is as good as wired quality and the perfect synchronization between sounds and images for movies.
Compressed Music Enhancer
Yamaha employs sophisticated digital signal processing with exclusive algorithms to enable playback that
improves the performance of compressed music formats, including MP3 and WMA. With the Compressed
Music Enhancer, highs and especially lows are richer and smoother, bringing music back to life to be as
close to the original as possible.
UniVolume is a Yamaha-developed technology that maintains a consistent volume level between different
channels, programs, commercials and input sources. For instance, when watching TV while using
UniVolume, the volume of commercials will not be louder than the program being viewed. The same is true
when switching sources to watch a DVD or Blu-ray movie or to listen to music on CD. This is particularly helpful for late night watching and
listening when spikes in volume can disturb others in the house or apartment building.
This unit creates a sound field by reflecting sound beams on the walls of your listening room and by
broadening the cohesion of all the channels. Just as you would arrange the speaker position of other audio
systems, you need to set the beam angle to enjoy the best possible sound from this unit. This unit employs
the beam optimization and sound optimization features with the aid of the supplied IntelliBeam microphone, allowing you to avoid
troublesome listening-based setup and achieving highly accurate sound adjustments that best match your listening environment. We call
these two features “IntelliBeam” generically.
Advanced YST
Advanced Yamaha Active Servo Technology (Advanced YST) is a unique system in which the speaker and
amplifier work together to cancel out impedance so the speaker unit has a perfectly linear motion.
Advanced YST helps to ensure the highest levels of sound pressure and overall performance.
