Thank you for choosing a KEF digital hi-fi speaker system — the X300A Wireless model.
Innovation is what sets KEF apart from its competitors. For over 50 years KEF has been at the forefront of
loudspeaker research and development, designing class-leading speakers that have dealt with the challenges
of reproducing the latest musical formats, and reproducing them to the highest possible quality. This legacy
continues today with the X300A Wireless, our first active wireless hi-fi speaker system for the digital music era.
Now let's hi-fi your computer.

The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol, within an equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the
user to the presence of uninsulated “dangerous voltage” within the products enclosure that may be
of a sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electrical shock to persons.
The exclamation mark within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence

appliance.
WARNING:
Due to the mains switch being located on the rear panel, the appliance must be located in an open area without
anything obstructing access to the mains switch.
The apparatus should be connected to a mains socket with a protective earthing connection.

with other household wastes throughout the EU. To prevent possible harm to the environment or
X human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable

Do To retum your used device, please use the return and collection systems or contact the retailer
where the product was purchased. They can take this product for environmentally safe recycling.
Please take heed of the following before using the KEF Model X300A Wireless. Note also that the word
“appliance” shall refer to the KEF X300A Wireless , or any part of it.
Read Instructions — All the Safety and Operating Instructions should be read before operating the
appliance.
Retain Instructions — The Safety and Operating Instructions should be retained for future reference.
Heed Warnings — All warnings on the appliance and in the Operating Instructions should be adhered to.
Follow Instructions — All Operating and Use Instructions should be followed. Only use attachments/
accessories specified by the manufacturer.
Important — Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding type plug. The third prong
is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for
replacement of the obsolete outlet. Refer all servicing to a qualified service personnel. Servicing is required
for any damaged parts such as power supply cord or plug.
Water and Moisture — The appliance should not be used in or near water, for example, near a bathtub,
washbowl, kitchen sink, or laundry tub, in a wet basement, near a swimming pool, and the like. The
appliance shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing. Care should be taken so that objects containing
liquids are not placed upon or spilled into the enclosure through openings and that no objects filled with
liquids, such as a vase, shall be placed on the appliance.
Ventilation — The appliance should be situated so that its location or position does not interfere with its
proper ventilation. For example, the appliance should not be situated on a bed, sofa, or similar surface
that may block any ventilation openings.
Heat — The appliance should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves
or other appliances (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
Power Sources — The appliance should be connected to a power supply only of the type described in the
Operating Instructions or as marked on the appliance and it shall remain readily operable. The mains plug
is used as the disconnect device. To be completely disconnected from the power input, the mains plug of
the appliance must be disconnected from the mains completely.
. Power Cord Protection — Power supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be
walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against them. Pay particular attention to cords at plugs,
convenience receptacles and the point where they exit from the appliance. The mains plug should not be
obstructed or should be easily accessed during intended use.
. Attachments and Accessories — Use only attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
. Handling — The appliance should be transported with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified
by manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, pay caution when moving the cart/
appliance combination to avoid injury from tip-over.
. Non-use Periods — Unplug the appliance during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of
time.
. Damage Requiring Service — The appliance should be serviced by qualified service personnel when:
a) The power supply cord or the plug has been damaged; or
b) Objects have fallen or liquid has been spilled into the appliance; or
c) The appliance has been exposed to rain; or
d) The appliance does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a marked change in performance; or
e) The appliance has been dropped or the enclosure is damaged.
. Servicing — The user shall not attempt to service the appliance beyond that described in the Operating
Instructions. All other servicing should be referred to qualified service personnel.

Operation Modes
X300A Wireless provides you 3 ways to connect to your music source, Wireless, USB and AUX IN. The
highest priority mode available will be activated automatically when an active signal is detected.
Playback priority is given as below:

Wireless Network Set-Up
A few more steps are needed before you can start wireless streaming.
You can setup a connection between X300A Wireless and your home Wi-Fi network by either wireless
connection or wired connection. For wireless connection, please download KEF Wireless Easy Setup Wizard
(available at www .kef.com).
* X300A Wireless will remember the last home Wi-Fi network it was connected to. Every time the system
restarts, it will automatically search and connect to that network.
By Wireless Connection
Before proceeding, please ensure you have the following:
* A Wi-Fi enabled Mac/ PC.
* KEF Wireless Easy Setup Wizard (available at www.kef.com).
* Name and password of your home Wi-Fi network.
|. Run the KEF Wireless Easy Setup Wizard and select your language of choice.
2. Click “First time setup” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.
By Wired Connection
Before proceeding, please ensure you have the following:
* A Mac/ PC with Ethernet port.
* Name and password of your home Wi-Fi network.
|. Disconnect all network connections of your Mac/ PC.
2. Connect the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port of your Mac/PC and LAN port O of X300A Wireless.
3. Power up each speaker © and turn on the system by pressing the standby button (3).
Indicator light will flash blue.
4. Indicator light will turn to solid blue once the network connection is established.
This process may take up to 2 minutes.
5. Run the internet browser on your computer, enter the URL http://169.254.112.202
6. a) (Optional) Rename your speaker.
b) Select the home Wi-Fi network you are going to connect to and input the password.
Click “Save” and remove the LAN cable.
7. Speaker will restart. Blue light will flash and become solid again when the setup is completed.
Change Wireless Configurations
You can always rename your X300A Wireless speaker, change the home Wi-Fi network connection and
check network configurations.
| Repeat the above steps to enter the KEF Wireless Easy Setup Wizard.
2. Select your language of choice, click “Change settings” and follow the on-screen instructions.
Streaming with AirPlay
Stream Music from iOS device (iPhone/ iPad/ iPod touch) / Mac
|. Make sure your ¡OS device/ Mac and X300A Wireless are connected to the same home Wi-Fi network.
Power up each speaker and connect the USB cable between Left and Right speaker.
Press the standby button. Wireless network is ready once the indicator light turns solid blue.
Open iTunes, select the AirPlay icon Lal.
Select “KEF X300A Wireless” on the AirPlay menu.
Play and enjoy your music.

Caution! Volume can only be adjusted on source device. Please ensure your source volume
IS set to low before you start streaming and adjust to volume of your liking.
Streaming with DLNA (Android device)
Stream Music from Android device
|. Make sure your Android device and X300A Wireless are connected to the same home Wi-Fi network.
2. Power up each speaker and connect the USB cable between Left and Right speaker.
3. Press the standby button. Wireless network is ready once the indicator light tums solid blue.
4. Download and install the KEF Digital Media Control app (available at Google Play Store
and www .kef.com).
5. Run the app. Choose “KEF X300A Wireless” as your speaker.
a) Select the Android device you would like to stream music from as the server or
b) Select your own Android device as the server.
7. Once the server is connected, you will see your music library stored in your Android device.
8. Tap on any music file you would like to play, they will be streamed to X300A Wireless directly.
9. If you have renewed music contents in the Android device, tap the o icon and select “Update Server”.
|0. End the app by taping the = icon and “Exit”.
Streaming with DLNA (PC)
Setup Media Sharing in Windows Media Player 12
|. Run Windows Media Player 12.
2. Click “Stream” and “Turn on home media streaming”. “Turn on home media streaming” would not be
available on the Stream menu if streaming is already turned on. In this case, please skip to step 5.
3. On the “Media streaming options” page, click “Turn on media streaming”. If you are prompted for an
administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click “OK”.
Click “Stream”, select “Allow remote control of my Player” and “Automatically allow devices to play my
media”.
6. Your Windows Media Player is ready to be the media sharing server and be discovered by KEF Digital
Media Control app.
* You can setup other media sharing software on your PC as server. For details, please refer to the
instructions of your media sharing software.
Stream Music from PC

Make sure your PC, Android device and X300A Wireless are connected to the same home Wi-Fi
network.
Power up each speaker and connect the USB cable between Left and Right speaker.
Press the standby button. Wireless network is ready once the indicator light turns solid blue.
Download and install the KEF Digital Media Control app (available at Google Play Store
and www.kef.com).
Run the app, choose “KEF X300A Wireless” as your speaker and your PC as server.
Once the server is connected, you will see the music library stored in your PC.
Tap on any music file you would like to play, they will be streamed to X300A Wireless directly.
End the app by taping the = icon and “Exit”.
