Step 2. Attach "Installation Sheet" to the wall and mark the location of bolts. This sheet helps to
find correct location to the bolts.

Step 1. After releasing eight screws, detach front cover from the indoor unit. While detaching the
front cover, grab the carrying handles at left and right sides of the front cover. Then pull
into upward direction. When assemble the front cover, remove detached side brackets of
the front cover and ONLY tighten two screws of bottom.

Step 4. Hang the indoor unit at the supporting plate. Also, catch the carrying handles at left and right sides of the indoor unit.

marks on the wall. When screwing bolts, use M8 ~ M11 anchor bolts to
secure hanging the indoor unit.

1. Dry Contact (PQDSA)
1.1 Overview
LG Dry Contact is a solution for automatic control of air conditioning system at the ownerʼs behest.
In simple words, itʼs a switch which can be used to turn the unit On/Off after getting the signal from external sources like
key-in lock, door or window switch etc specially used in Hotel rooms.
Itʼs a small PCB that either can be fit inside the control box of Indoor unit or can be outside the unit in a plastic case if there
is no sufficient space inside the Indoor unit.
Apart from simple installation, it can also be linked to Central Controller via Indoor unit PI485 pcb. For this, all connecting
wires & an additional small pcb for looping is also provided along with Dry Contact.
Dry Contact can be used in two ways.
1. It can be used to actually turn On/Off the system on receiving the signal from the source.
In this case, user doesn't need to use remote controller anymore to turn On/Off the system.
However all the further settings like temperature, fan speed, mode etc can be done through remote controller only.
2. Other way is almost similar as above but in this case, after getting the On signal from the external source, user has to
turn On the system from remote controller only. Dry contact just activates the system.
However system can be turned Off directly from the external source. So only On mode is different here.
So in both of above conditions, system canʼt be operated without signal from external source which prevents unnecessary
use of system & facilitates its operation only when its required.
These settings can be selected from the remote controller whose details have been explained in the later part of this manual
So depending upon the requirement, Dry Contact offers a variety of applications to suit the customerʼs requirement in the
best possible way.

2.2 Installation Method
2.2.1 How to use
1. After deciding where the remote temperature sensor is installed, decide
the location and height of the fixing screws.
(Interval between the screws : 60mm)

2. Insert the connector of the connection wire into the space for the
connector in place of the room temperature sensor. (CN_ROOM)
3. Separately, set the option code of the attached controller on the indoor unit.
In detail, refer to "installer setting mode" in the owner's manual.
2.2.2 How to connect the remote temperature sensor and the connection wire
The Connection wire does not matter if you change the color of the wire because of non-polar

Integrate the remote temperature sensor with the screws as the order of arrows.

CAUTION
1. Choose the place where the average temperature can be measured for the place the indoor unit operates.

3. Choose the place where the cooling/heating devices do not affect the remote sensor.

5. Choose the place where the remote sensor isnʼt affected when door is open.

3.3 Installation Guide
3.3.1 Installation Steps
1. 6 Connect CN_OUT with Outdoor Unit by the cable (provided)
2. 4 5 Connect RS-485 BUS_A(+) and BUS_(B)(-) with other network products (ex. Central Controller , IGateway.....)
3. 2 3 In case of using Simple Central Controller, connect VCC(+10V) and GND.
No need to connect otherwise.
4. 8 Select DIP Switch Configuration(Refer page 8)
5. 1 Connect CN_PWR with Outdoor PCB Power connector (Refer page 9, 10)
6. After Power is ON, check the Communication LED 9
- LED1G(Red)
• Normal : LED blinks for 5 times and then gets OFF
This process is repeated after every 3 minutes
• Error : Check the Indoor Unit's address & wiring connections
- LED2G(Yellow), LED3G(Orange)
• Normal : LED blinks continuously
• Error : Check the DIP Switch setting & wiring connections
7. 7 Check RS-485 Communication Status LED:
• Normal : LED's blinks 2 times in every 10~30 seconds
• Error : Check the wiring connections
8. Finally if all of the above steps are OK, then tie the cables by tie wraps & clamp
CAUTION
Install the PI485 after checking the hole for screw.
