Wasp Barcode Technologies: Setting a PIN for WWS800 & WWS850 scanners, for use when pairing via
Bluetooth SPP (Serial Port Protocol) directly to a PC (not using a base station for communication).
A. Scan the barcodes in steps 1 through 14 below. This sets a PIN code of 1111 in the scanner.
B. Start the process of adding a Bluetooth device for your version of Windows.
C. Choose the option for “Enter the device’s pairing code”, “Let me choose my own passkey”, “Enter the
passcode for your keyboard”, or similar verbiage. On the PC, enter the PIN code 1111 in the box.
D. Finish the steps of the pairing process. The scanner appears as its serial number, e.g. AF9002390.
E. During driver installation, Windows should display a COM number (e.g. COM3). This is the COM port
to specify in the application that will receive data from the scanner. This can also be seen in Device
Manager.
F. If you do not have an application that accepts serial input, install and run Wasp’s Serial-to-Keyboard
utility from the disc (or download link below), run the program, specify the COM port, then Open Port.

G. Test: Open your application, or if using Serial-to-Keyboard, open Notepad, Word, or something else
that accepts keyboard input. Scan a barcode. The data should appear as if typed on a keyboard.
