Most of the screen is a map, showing your dog’s
location. You may also see icons for the base station
and you, depending on the proximity of those to
your dog (see “Location States” for more detail).
Location States
There are 3 Location States used to label
your dog’s Tracking Unit location. It’s
important you understand the distinctions.
6
Near Base Station
With You
Away
The Base Station contains
Bluetooth technology that creates
your Home Safe Zone
When near your phone’s Bluetooth,
the Tracking Unit will pair to your
smart phone and register as a “With
you” location state. This location state
will register in priority over the home
Base Station safe zone.
If the Tracking Unit is not connected
to either of these two Bluetooth
signals, then it will register as an “Away”
location state. LINK AKC will try to
notify you, so that you can track with
GPS (“Lost Mode”). When in Away mode,
cellular data and wifi are used to further
location accuracy.
Troubleshooting Tip: It is necessary for your dog’s Tracking Unit to be ON, with
an active Service Plan and cellular connectivity for these features to work.
Notifications
We will try to notify you if we see
something that might need
your attention.
Possible notification triggers:
• Change in location state to “Away”
• Low battery
• Temperature alert (if enabled)
This may not be how the notifications appear on your phone depending on model and carrier.

Because location tracking uses GPS, this feature is
battery-intensive. We suggest charging your Tracking
Unit every night just in case you need to use this
feature the following day.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR
TEMPORARY SAFE ZONE
Customize the temporary safe
zone duration by adjusting the
time up or down, and the range by
pinching the screen to a radius of
your choosing, up to 2400m.
Set your temporary Safe Zone
with a time duration. You can
always turn this off if your
time is cut short.
9
Activate Safe Zone
This feature gives you peace of mind and the ability
to better manage their location when you would like
to have your dog off-leash and able to go beyond the
your smart phone’s Bluetooth range, like when you’re
on a hike or at a park.
Home Base Station
The home Base Station safe zone range is approx. 50-150
meters. Range will depend upon signal disruption from
appliances, concrete, etc.
