3 Overview

The PS-1DVI is used to power DVI for Optical DVI Extension Cables 3 .

Optical DVI cables, such as the Kramer C-FODM/FODM-328, require a +5V internal power supplied through a DVI pin (#14) from the graphic card. When the computer system is incapable of supplying 500mA, the PS-1DVI provides the power to the cable’s Tx/Rx modules.

Overview

The Kramer MultiTOOLS PS-1DVI DVI Power Supply:

• Allows you to join two DVI-D or DVI-I signal cables even when the graphics card cannot supply the required power for the extension cables

• Powers devices upstream via a copper DVI cable

• Is compatible with either digital and/or analog signals

• Utilizes DUAL LINK technology, enabling high frequency signals up to 3Gbps, and therefore the switching of resolutions higher than

UXGA

To achieve the best performance:

• Connect only good quality connection cables, thus avoiding interference, deterioration in signal quality due to poor matching, and elevated noise levels (often associated with low quality cables)

• Avoid interference from neighboring electrical appliances that may adversely influence signal quality and position your Kramer

PS-1DVI away from moisture, excessive sunlight and dust
