INTRODUCTION
Merci d’avoir choisi de ce produit. Cette chaîne multimédia comprend deux stations d’accueil
pouvant être utilisées pour la lecture et le chargement d’un baladeur iPod®/téléphonebaladeur iPhone, un syntoniseur MW/FM stéréo numérique à 40 préréglages, deux alarmes
pour le réveil au son du iPhone/iPod®/de la radio/de l’avertisseur, un très grand écran ACL à
rétroéclairage avec gradateur 6 niveaux, deux haut-parleurs de 2,5 po, un haut-parleur
d’extrêmes graves passif à l’arrière, une puissance de sortie de 10 watts et une
télécommande toutes fonctions.

Installez l’appareil conformément aux instructions du fabricant.
N’utilisez que des dispositifs ou accessoires recommandés par le fabricant de cet
appareil.
Placez l’appareil uniquement sur le chariot, le support, le trépied, la console ou la table
recommandé par le fabricant ou vendu avec l’appareil. Si vous placez l’appareil sur un
chariot, faites preuve de prudence lorsque vous le déplacez, car il peut se renverser et
causer des blessures.
N’utilisez que les pièces de rechange recommandées par le fabricant.
Placez l’appareil à l’écart des sources de chaleur comme les radiateurs, registres de
chauffage, poêles ou autres dispositifs (y compris les amplificateurs) qui dégagent de la
chaleur.
Ne placez aucun objet rempli d’eau (tel qu’un vase) sur cet appareil et tenez-le à l’écart
de l’eau (éclaboussure, égouttement, etc.).
N’utilisez pas cet appareil à proximité de l’eau et nettoyez-le avec un chiffon sec.
Débranchez l’appareil de la prise de courant avant de le nettoyer.
Ne placez aucune source de flamme nue (p. ex. une bougie allumée) sur cet appareil.
Assurez-vous que l’appareil est toujours propre. Ne le rangez pas près d’une source de
chaleur ni dans un endroit humide, sale ou mouillé. Ne l’exposez pas à la lumière directe
du soleil.
N’obstruez ni ne couvrez les orifices de ventilation de cet appareil au moyen d’un rideau,
d’une nappe, d’un journal, car ceci empêche la circulation d’air. Laissez une distance
minimale de 100 mm autour de l’appareil pour assurer une ventilation suffisante.
Afin d’éviter tout risque d’incendie ou de choc électrique, n’exposez pas cet appareil à la
pluie ou l’humidité.
Ne soumettez pas cet appareil à des arrêts brusques. Ne le laissez pas tomber car cela
risque de l’endommager et de causer une perte des données qui y sont stockées.
Prenez grand soin de cet appareil lorsque vous l’utilisez dans un climat tropical et(ou)
modéré.
N’utilisez pas cet appareil dans un milieu extrêmement sec, car ceci peut causer de
l’électricité statique et l’endommager.
Si l’appareil ne fonctionne plus en raison d’un champ électromagnétique puissant ou de
toute autre interférence, mettez d’abord le réseau électrique hors tension, débranchez
ensuite l’appareil de la prise de courant. Attendez quelques minutes puis rebranchez-le.
Ceci réinitialisera le logiciel de l’appareil et celui-ci retournera par la suite à son
fonctionnement normal.
Afin d’éviter tout risque d’incendie ou de choc électrique, n’utilisez pas la fiche du cordon
de cet appareil avec une rallonge, une prise de courant ou autre, à moins que les lames
s’y insèrent à fond.

19.) Débranchez l’appareil pendant un orage électrique et lorsqu’il ne sera pas utilisé
pendant une longue période.
20.) Si vous mettez le réseau électrique hors tension pour débrancher l’appareil, assurez
-vous que celui-ci demeure exploitable.
21.) Ne tentez pas de neutraliser le dispositif de sécurité, lequel est constitué d’une prise
polarisée ou prise de terre. Une prise polarisée est dotée de deux fiches dont l’une est
plus large que l’autre ; tandis qu’une prise de terre est dotée de deux fiches et d’une
broche plus large. Cette broche plus large est un dispositif de sécurité. Si la fiche de
l’appareil ne s’insère pas dans la prise murale, veuillez communiquer avec un électricien
pour faire remplacer cette prise désuète.
22.) Installez les cordons d’alimentation de façon que l’on ne risque pas de les écraser et qu’ils
ne se trouvent pas pincés par des objets quelconques; faites particulièrement attention
aux fiches, aux prises de courant et aux points où les cordons sont reliés à l’appareil.
23.) Ne surchargez pas le circuit électrique de la prise murale. N’utilisez que la tension
d’alimentation recommandée.
24.) Après des travaux d’entretien ou de réparation sur cet appareil, demandez au technicien
de procéder aux vérifications de sécurité pour déterminer si l’appareil est en bon état de
marche.
25.) Confiez toute réparation à un technicien qualifié. Une réparation est requise lorsque
l’appareil est endommagé de quelque façon que ce soit : le cordon d’alimentation est
endommagé, un liquide ou un objet a pénétré à l’intérieur de l’appareil, l’appareil a été
exposé à la pluie ou à l’humidité, l’appareil est tombé ou il ne fonctionne pas
normalement.
26.) Les piles ne doivent pas être exposées à une chaleur excessive, telle que la lumière du
soleil, un incendie, ou autre.
27.) Veuillez respecter l’environnement lorsque vous mettez les piles au rebut.
28.) Cet appareil est conçu pour un usage ménager et non un usage commercial.
29.) N’installez pas cet appareil dans un endroit restreint, tel que dans une bibliothèque, un
boîtier ou autre. Laissez une distance minimale de 10cm autour de l’appareil pour
assurer une ventilation suffisante.
30.) L’appareil est complètement débranché du réseau électrique lorsque la fiche de contact
de l’appareil est débranchée du réseau électrique.

AVANT L’UTILISATION
Déballage et installation
• Retirez de la boîte l’appareil principal, l’adaptateur, les 6 adaptateurs pour baladeurs iPod®
MC, la pile au lithium (de type CR2032) et l’antenne cadre MW externe, ainsi que tout le
matériel d’emballage. Veuillez conserver la boîte et le matériel d’emballage au cas où vous
devriez retourner l’appareil pour le faire réparer.
• Retirez toutes les étiquettes et autocollants descriptifs qui se trouvent sur le dessus ou le
devant de l’appareil principal. Conservez cependant les étiquettes et aucollants qui se
trouvent à l’arrière ou sur le dessous de l’appareil.
ENTRETIEN
Nettoyage de l’appareil
Pour éviter tout risque d’incendie ou de choc électrique, débranchez l’appareil de la prise
•
murale avant de le nettoyer.
•
Essuyez le boîtier de l’appareil l’aide d’un chiffon sec et doux pour enlever toute la
poussière. N’utilisez aucune cire, ni aucun produit à polir en aérosol.
•
Pour enlever toute trace de saleté ou toute empreinte digitale du boîtier, nettoyez-le à
l’aide d’un chiffon imbibé d’une solution d’eau savonneuse. N’utilisez jamais de chiffon
abrasif ni de produits à polir, car cela risque d’endommager le fini de l’appareil.
Attention:
Évitez de faire pénétrer de l’eau ou tout autre liquide à l’intérieur de l’appareil lorsque vous le
nettoyez.

ALIMENTATION DE RÉSERVE
Le circuit d’alimentation de réserve de cet appareil permet de conserver les réglages de
l’horloge, de l’alarme et les stations de radio préréglées dans la mémoire du syntoniseur lors
d’une panne de courant temporaire. Ce circuit fonctionne sur une pile bouton au lithium de 3
volts (de type CR2032 ou l’équivalent), non incluse. Si cette pile de réserve n’est pas insérée
ou est épuisée et qu’il y a interruption de courant, les réglages susmentionnés seront perdus.
Vous devrez les entrer à nouveau lorsque le courant sera rétabli.
Le compartiment de la pile est situé sous le boîtier de l’appareil.
Activation de la pile de réserve
La pile au lithium CR2032 est déjà insérée dans le compartiment de la pile situé sous le boîtier
de l’appareil. Retirez le petit onglet isolant, tel qu’illustré ci-dessous, pour que l’appareil puisse
conserver les réglages de l’heure, des alarmes et des stations préréglées dans la mémoire du
syntoniseur.

Remplacement de la pile
L’icône de pile faible (
) clignotera dans le coin inférieur gauche de l’affichage lorsque
viendra le moment de changer la pile. Insérez alors une nouvelle pile de type CR2032 en
suivant les instructions ci-dessous. Lors du remplacement de la pile, laissez l’appareil branché
sur l’adaptateur afin de ne pas perdre les différents réglages.
1. Déposez l’appareil à l’envers sur une surface douce, telle qu’un chiffon ou une serviette,
pour éviter d’en égratigner le dessus.
2. Ouvrez le couvercle du compartiment de la pile, tel qu’illustré ci-dessous.
3. Insérez une nouvelle pile au lithium de marque connue et de type CR2032 en
respectant les polarités (le signe “ + ” doit être sur le dessus). Refermez le couvercle.
4. Remettez l’appareil à l’endroit.

Précautions à prendre
Veuilez prendre les précautions suivantes lorsque vous utilisez une pile avec cet appareil.
1.) Avertissement – Risque d’explosion si la pile n’est pas remplacée correctement.
N’utilisez qu’une pile de même type ou de type équivalent.
2.) Utilisez toujours une pile de même format ou de type spécifié.
3.) Assurez-vous de respecter les polarités (signes + et -) lorsque vous insérez la pile,
selon les indications dans le compartiment de la pile. Si les polarités sont inversées,
cela risque d’endommager l’appareil.
4.) Si vous n’utilisez pas l’appareil pendant une longue période, retirez la pile afin d’éviter
tout dommage ou toute blessure causé par une fuite de l’électrolyte de la pile.
5.) Ne tentez pas de recharger une pile qui n’est pas rechargeable. Cela peut provoquer un
surchauffement de la pile et une rupture de celle-ci. (Veuillez suivre les instructions du
fabricant.)
6.) N’exposez pas la pile à une chaleur excessive, telle que la lumière du soleil, un
incendie ou autre.
Utilisation de l’adaptateur
Branchez une extrémité de la petite fiche femelle de l’adaptateur sur la prise d’entrée CC
située sur le panneau arrière de l’appareil. Branchez l’autre extrémité sur la prise murale de
230 volts.

REMARQUES :
• Il se peut que le boîtier de l’adaptateur devienne chaud pendant le fonctionnement
de l’appareil. Ceci est tout à fait normal.
• Pour réduire tout risque de choc électrique, ne branchez et ne débranchez jamais
l’appareil avec les mains mouillées.
• Veuillez utiliser l’adaptateur original fourni avec l’appareil; sinon, cela risque
d’endommager l’appareil.

Utilisation de la télécommande
Une pile au lithium de type CR2032 a déjà été insérée à l’intérieur de la télécommande. Avant
d’utiliser la télécommande, retirez le petit onglet isolant, tel qu’illustré ci-dessous.
Dirigez le transmetteur de la télécommande vers le capteur infrarouge situé sur le panneau
avant de l’appareil principal et appuyez sur la touche désirée. La télécommande a un rayon
d’action d’environ 6 m (20 pi). À noter que la lumière ardente du soleil ou une lumière
artificielle peut nuire au bon fonctionnement de la télécommande.
REMPLACEMENT DE LA PILE
Lorsque la télécommande fonctionne lentement ou par intermittence, c’est qu’il est temps de
remplacer la pile. Tirez le support de la pile, sortez la pile usée et insérez une nouvelle pile de type
CR2032 selon l’illustration ci-dessous. Replacez le support de la pile dans la télécommande.
REMARQUE : Si la pile n’est pas bien insérée, la télécommande ne fonctionnera pas.

FONCTIONNEMENT
• Déployez le conducteur d’antenne FM sur toute sa longueur.
• Branchez l’antenne cadre MW sur la prise d’antenne MW située sur le panneau arrière de
l’appareil si vous désirez écouter des stations de radio MW (reportez-vous à la page 15
pour le raccordement de l’antenne).
• Retirez le petit onglet isolant de la télécommande.
• Branchez l’appareil sur une prise de courant alternatif qui est toujours active.
• Ne branchez pas l’appareil sur une prise de courant alternatif commandée par un
interrupteur mural.
Généralités
La plupart des fonctions principales de cet appareil peuvent être activées par les commandes
situées sur le panneau supérieur de l’appareil principal ou par les touches de la
télécommande. Si une fonction donnée ne peut être activée qu’à partir de la télécommande
ou des commandes sur le panneau supérieur de l’appareil, cela sera mentionné clairement
dans les instructions d’utilisation.
Lorsque vous vous servez de la télécommande pour faire fonctionner l’appareil, assurez-vous
de diriger le transmetteur de la télécommande vers le capteur infrarouge situé sur le panneau
avant de l’appareil principal.
La télécommande a un rayon d’action d’environ 6 m (20 pi). À noter que la lumière ardente du
soleil ou une lumière artificielle peut nuire au bon fonctionnement de la télécommande. Si la
télécommande ne fonctionne toujours pas convenablement après avoir réduit le degré de
luminosité dans la pièce ou après vous être rapproché de l’appareil principal, changez la pile
de la télécommande.
RACCORDEMENT DE DISPOSITIFS EXTERNES
Prise d’entrée auxiliaire
L’appareil est doté d’une prise d’entrée auxiliaire (AUX IN) qui permet
de brancher un appareil audio externe et d’écouter le son provenant
de cet appareil externe au moyen des haut-parleurs incorporés.
Écoute à partir de la source audio externe
• Branchez l’appareil audio externe sur la prise AUX IN située sur le panneau arrière de la
chaîne multimédia (voir illustration ci-dessous). À noter que le câble de raccordement n’est
pas inclus.
• Pour sélectionner le mode AUX, touchez légèrement la touche MODE sur le panneau
supérieur de l’appareil ou appuyez sur la touche MODE de la télécommande jusqu’à ce
que l’indicateur “AUX ” apparaisse au-dessus de l’heure à l’affichage.

Touches à effleurement
Toutes les commandes situées sur le panneau supérieur de l’appareil principal, sauf la touche
/ ON et la touche iPod® SELECT, sont des touches à effleurement spéciales, sensibles au
toucher. Il vous suffit donc de toucher légèrement une touche pour la faire fonctionner. Lorsque
vous touchez légèrement une touche, celle-ci clignotera trois fois pour indiquer qu’elle a bien
reçu la commande et l’appareil exécutera alors la fonction désirée.
Heure avancée / Heure normale
Remarque : Ce réglage ne peut s’effectuer que lorsque l’appareil est au mode Veille (Standby).
Si vous êtes actuellement à l’heure avancée, vous devez faire ce réglage avant de régler
l’heure courante. Par contre, si vous êtes actuellement à l’heure normale, vous n’avez pas à
effectuer ce réglage pour le moment. Attentez le moment venu de passer à l’heure avancée.

En mode Veille (Standby), touchez légèrement la touche
MODE située sur le panneau supérieur ou appuyez sur la
touche MODE de la télécommande. Le chiffre “ 1 ” apparaîtra
brièvement au-dessus de l’heure et l’indicateur de l’heure
avancée (DST) apparaîtra également. L’heure à l’affichage
avancera d’une heure. Au bout de quelques secondes, le
chiffre “ 1 ” disparaîtra tandis que l’indicateur DST restera à
l’affichage, confirmant ainsi que l’horloge affiche l’heure
avancée.
À la fin de l’heure avancée, touchez légèrement la touche
MODE située sur le panneau supérieur ou appuyez sur la
touche MODE de la télécommande. Le chiffre “ 0 ” apparaîtra
brièvement au-dessus de l’heure. L’heure à l’affichage reculera
d’une heure. Au bout de quelques secondes, le chiffre “ 0 ” et
l’indicateur DST disparaîtront, confirmant ainsi que l’horloge
affiche l’heure normale.

Réglage de l’horloge
Lorsque l’appareil est branché sur une prise de 230 volts,
50 Hz pour la première fois, “0:00” clignotera à l’affichage.
Remarque importante : N’appuyez pas sur la touche
/ ON pour mettre l’appareil
sous tension (ON). L’horloge ne peut être réglée que lorsque l’appareil est au mode Veille
(Standby).
1.）Touchez légèrement la touche TIME SET située sur le panneau supérieur ou appuyez
sur la touche TIME SET de la télécommande jusqu’à ce que les chiffres de l’heure
clignotent.
2.）Touchez légèrement la touche TUNE/SKIP / située sur le
panneau supérieur ou appuyez sur la touche TUNE/SKIP
/
de la télécommande pour régler l’heure à l’affichage.
Assurez-vous que l’indicateur AM ou PM correspond à l’heure
courante que vous venez de régler.
3.) Touchez légèrement la touche TIME SET située sur le
panneau supérieur ou appuyez sur la touche TIME SET de la
télécommande jusqu’à ce que seuls les chiffres des minutes
clignotent. Appuyez sur les touches
/
de la
télécommande pour régler les minutes à l’affichage.
4.) Lorsque l’heure courante apparaît à l’affichage, touchez
légèrement la touche TIME SET située sur le panneau
supérieur ou appuyez sur la touche TIME SET de la
télécommande une fois de plus. L’affichage cesse de clignoter
et l’horloge commence à marquer l’heure.

Commande de volume
Pour augmenter ou diminuer le volume, touchez légèrement la touche VOLUME / située
sur le panneau supérieur ou appuyez sur la touche VOLUME + ou – de la télécommande.
L’indicateur du niveau de volume apparaîtra à l’affichage lorsque vous changerez le niveau
de volume. L’indicateur du niveau de volume passe de “ 00 ”
(minimum) à “ 30 ” (maximum).
Si le niveau de volume est inférieur à VOL 24, l’appareil conservera

l’appareil sous tension. Par ailleurs, si le niveau de volume est supérieur à VOL 24 lorsque
l’appareil est mis hors tension, il retournera automatiquement au niveau par défaut
(c.-à-d. VOL 15) la prochaine fois que vous mettrez l’appareil sous tension.
Égaliseur électronique (uniquement sur la télécommande)
L’égaliseur électronique a été préréglé, mais vous pouvez modifier
les caractéristiques du son pour la plupart des genres de musique
populaires. Appuyez sur la touche EQ de la télécommande pour
consulter les modes d’égalisation suivants :
EQ1(NORMAL) – EQ2(CLASSIQUE) – EQ3(ROCK) – EQ4(POP) – EQ5(JAZZ)
L’indicateur EQ approprié apparaît brièvement à l’affichage pour valider votre choix. L’appareil
conservera en mémoire le réglage choisi lorsqu’il est mis hors tension. La prochaine fois que
vous mettrez l’appareil sous tension, il utilisera automatiquement ce même réglage.
Commande DBBS (amplification dynamique de basses fréquences)
Appuyez sur la touche DBBS de la télécommande pour accentuer la réponse des graves.
Appuyez à nouveau sur cette touche pour annuler cette fonction.
Touche de sourdine (uniquement sur la télécommande)
Appuyez sur la touche MUTE de la télécommande pour mettre temporairement en sourdine
les haut-parleurs (p. ex. lorsque vous répondez au téléphone).
Le son ne se fera pas entendre et l’indicateur du niveau de
volume clignotera à l’affichage.
Appuyez à nouveau sur la touche MUTE pour annuler cette fonction et rétablir le son. Si
vous appuyez sur la touche VOLUME / de la télécommande ou touchez légèrement la
touche VOLUME + ou – située sur le panneau supérieur, cela annulera
également cette fonction.

1.) Touchez légèrement la touche

mode de réglage par défaut initial est le mode baladeur iPod®.
L’indicateur “iPod®” clignotera au-dessus de l’heure.
2.) Touchez légèrement la touche MODE située sur le panneau
supérieur ou appuyez sur la touche MODE de la télécommande
jusqu’à ce que FM ou MW apparaisse à l’affichage.
3.) Syntonisez la station désirée en procédant de la manière suivante :

4.) Lors de la syntonisation d’une station FM stéréo, l’indicateur
ST (stéréo) apparaît à l’affichage. Si la réception de la station
FM stéréo est faible ou parasitée, appuyez sur la touche
FM ST/MO de la télécommande pour sélectionner le mode FM mono. Cela améliore
généralement la réception, mais le son ne sera plus en stéréophonie.
5.) Lorsque vous avez terminé d’écouter la station choisie, touchez légèrement la touche
/ ON située sur le panneau supérieur ou appuyez sur la touche
/ ON de la
télécommande pour mettre l’appareil hors tension. La fréquence radio disparaîtra de
l’affichage.

FM : Assurez-vous que l’antenne FM située sur le panneau arrière de l’appareil est
complètement déployée. Au besoin, changez l’orientation de cette antenne afin d’obtenir

PRÉRÉGLAGE DES STATIONS DANS LA MÉMOIRE DU SYNTONISEUR
Le syntoniseur peut garder en mémoire un maximum de 40 stations (20 MW et 20 FM)
auxquelles vous pouvez accéder facilement à tout moment. Utilisez la syntonisation
automatique ou manuelle (décrite à la page 14) pour syntoniser la première station à mettre
en mémoire (p. ex. la station FM 103.5 MHz).
1.) Lorsque la fréquence radio désirée apparaît à l’affichage,
appuyez sur la touche TIME SET / MEMORY de la
télécommande ou touchez légèrement la touche TIME SET /
MEMORY située sur le panneau supérieure, et relâchez-la.
L’indicateur P – 01 (emplacement de mémoire préréglée no 1)
s’affichera au lieu de la fréquence radio et commencera à
clignoter.
Pour entrer une station à l’emplacement de mémoire no 1,
appuyez à nouveau sur la touche TIME SET / MEMORY.
L’indicateur P – 01 cessera de clignoter et restera à l’affichage
pendant 5 secondes. La fréquence radio sélectionnée
apparaîtra de nouveau à l’affichage. La station est maintenant
entrée à l’emplacement de mémoire no 1.
Remarque : Vous devez appuyer sur la touche TIME SET / MEMORY pendant que
l’indicateur de mémoire clignote afin d’entrer la station dans la mémoire. Si l’indicateur de
mémoire cesse de clignoter, la station ne sera pas entrée.
2.) Syntonisez la prochaine station que vous désirez mettre en
mémoire. Lorsque cette station apparaît à l’affichage, appuyez
une fois sur la touche TIME SET / MEMORY. L’indicateur P –
01 commencera à clignoter. Appuyez sur la touche PRESET /
MENU + ou – de la télécommande ou touchez légèrement la
touche PRESET / ALM1- ou la touche PRESET / ALM2+
située sur le panneau supérieur pour sélectionner un autre
numéro d’emplacement de mémoire, puis appuyez une fois de
plus sur la touche TIME SET / MEMORY pour entrer cette
station à l’emplacement de mémoire sélectionné.
3.) Répétez l’étape 2 pour mettre en mémoire toute autre station,
jusqu’à un maximum de 20 stations sur chaque bande de
fréquence (MW et FM).

Rappel des stations préréglées
Appuyez sur la touche PRESET / MENU + ou – de la télécommande ou touchez légèrement
la touche PRESET / ALM 1- ou la touche PRESET / ALM 2+ située sur le panneau supérieur
pour faire défiler en ordre croissant ou décroissant les emplacements de mémoire
correspondant aux stations préréglées.
Modification des stations préréglées
Syntonisez la nouvelle station que vous désirez mettre en mémoire. Appuyez sur la touche
TIME SET / MEMORY de la télécommande ou la touche TIME SET / MEMORY située sur le
panneau supérieur. Appuyez ensuite sur la touche PRESET / MENU + ou – de la
télécommande ou touchez légèrement la touche PRESET / ALM 1- ou PRESET / ALM 2+
située sur le panneau supérieur pour sélectionner le numéro d’emplacement de mémoire que
vous désirez modifier. Lorsque ce numéro clignote à l’affichage, appuyez une fois sur la
touche TIME SET / MEMORY. La nouvelle station est alors entrée à cet emplacement de
mémoire et la station qui occupait cet emplacement est effacée.
Remarque importante : L’alimentation de réserve à pile conservera les données contenues
dans la mémoire du syntoniseur lors d’une panne de courant. Si les piles sont épuisées, s’il
n’y a aucune pile dans l’appareil, si l’adaptateur est débranché de la prise murale ou si la fiche
est débranchée du panneau arrière de l’appareil, les données mises en mémoire seront
effacées et vous devrez les entrer à nouveau lorsque le courant sera rétabli.

MINUTERIE D’ARRÊT DIFFÉRÉ
Cet appareil est doté d’une minuterie d’arrêt différé programmable qui permet de vous
endormir au son de la musique (de 10 à 120 minutes) et se met automatiquement au mode
Veille au moment choisi.
Fonctionnement de la minuterie d’arrêt différé:
1.) Mettez l’appareil sous tension et syntonisez une station de radio.
2.) Appuyez sur la touche SLEEP de la télécommande ou touchez légèrement la touche
SLEEP située sur le panneau supérieur.
3.) “ SLEEP 120” apparaîtra à l’affichage, indiquant que
l’appareil se mettra hors tension au bout de 120 minutes.
Appuyez à plusieurs reprises sur la touche SLEEP pour diminuer la durée de fonctionnement
de la minuterie d’arrêt différé.
4.) L’indicateur de la minuterie d’arrêt différé disparaîtra de
l’affichage au bout de quelques secondes et sera remplacé
par celui de la fréquence radio syntonisée. Cependant, un
petit indicateur SLEEP restera à l’affichage. Lorsque la
minuterie atteint “00”, l’appareil reviendra automatiquement au mode Veille.
Remarque :
• Pour mettre l’appareil hors tension manuellement avant que la minuterie d’arrêt différé
atteigne “00”, appuyez sur la touche
/ ON à n’importe quel moment.

REMARQUES :
• Utilisez la télécommande pour régler les alarmes en mode STANDBY ou au mode de
fonctionnement. (Les touches ALM1 et ALM2 sur le panneau supérieur de l’appareil ne
peuvent être utilisées que lorsque l’appareil est en mode STANDBY.)
• Lorsque vous réglez l’alarme. Assurez-vous que correspond bien à l’heure du réveil sélectionnée.
• La marche à suivre pour régler l’alarme 1 et 2 est identique. L’exemple ci-dessous correspond
au réglage de l’alarme 1.
1). Appuyez sur la touche ALM 1 de la télécommande et tenez-la
enfoncée ou touchez la touche ALM1 située sur le panneau
supérieur pendant que l’appareil est en mode STANDBY.
L’heure de l’alarme par défaut (6:00) et le mode d’alarme par
défaut (iPod®) commencent à clignoter à l’affichage.
Continuez à tenir la touche ALM 1 enfoncée jusqu’à ce que
seuls les chiffres des heures se mettent à clignoter.

7). Une fois tous les réglages effectués, appuyez une fois de
plus sur la touche ALM 1 pour quitter le mode de réglage et
pour activer l’alarme 1. Tous les réglages d’alarme continueront
à être affichés pendant quelques secondes, puis l’affichage
reviendra à l’heure courante. Cependant, l’indicateur de
l’alarme 1 (
) demeurera à l’affichage pour indiquer que
cette alarme est bel et bien activée.
8). À l’heure de réveil choisie, l’appareil activera le mode d’alarme sélectionné. L’alarme se
fera entendre pendant une heure, s’éteindra automatiquement par la suite et se réglera
d’elle-même à la même heure pour le jour suivant. Remarque : Si vous avez sélectionné
le mode d’alarme iPod® et que le baladeur iPod® n’est pas inséré dans la station d’accueil
à l’heure de réveil précisée, l’appareil passera automatiquement au mode de réveil par
défaut (soit par avertisseur) utilisé avant la mise hors tension de l’appareil.
REMARQUE : Si vous avez sélectionné le mode d’alarme par la RADIO, l’appareil
syntonisera automatiquement la dernière station écoutée à l’heure de réveil choisie. Si
vous avez sélectionné le mode de réveil au son de baladeur iPod® ou de la radio et que
l’appareil est au mode baladeur iPod® ou radio au moment de l’heure de réveil, l’appareil
utilisera automatiquement le mode d’alarme par défaut (soit par avertisseur).

9.) Pour désactiver l’alarme plus tôt que prévu, appuyez sur la touche
quel moment.
Pour vérifier le réglage de l’alarme, appuyez sur la touche
d’alarme appropriée (ALM 1 ou ALM 2) de la télécommande.
Le réglage de l’alarme courante s’affichera brièvement pendant
quelques secondes, puis l’heure courante reviendra à l’affichage.
L’indicateur d’alarme demeurera affiché, indiquant ainsi que
l’alarme est bel et bien activée. Pour désactiver l’alarme, appuyez à nouveau sur la touche
d’alarme appropriée (ALM 1 ou ALM 2). L’indicateur d’alarme disparaîtra de l’affichage,
indiquant que l’alarme est désactivée.
Rappel d’alarme / Commande de gradateur
Lorsque l’alarme se met en marche pour vous réveiller, touchez légèrement la touche
SNOOZE / DIMMER située sur le panneau supérieur ou appuyez sur la touche SNOOZE /
DIMMER de la télécommande. L’alarme s’arrêtera pendant 9 minutes, puis continuera de
fonctionner par la suite. Cette action peut se répéter indéfiniment. Cependant, si vous
n’appuyez pas à nouveau sur la touche SNOOZE / DIMMER, au bout d’une heure, l’alarme
s’arrêtera pour de bon. L’indicateur SNOOZE apparaît à l’affichage pendant le fonctionnement
de la minuterie du rappel d’alarme. Pour désactiver la fonction de rappel d’alarme, appuyez
sur la touche
/ ON.
Pour régler la luminosité de l’affichage, touchez légèrement la touche SNOOZE / DIMMER
située sur le panneau supérieur ou appuyez sur la touche SNOOZE / DIMMER de la
télécommande pendant le fonctionnement normal. Vous pouvez sélectionner l’un des six
niveaux de luminosité offerts par cet appareil. Si vous continuez à appuyer sur cette touche,
l’affichage reviendra au niveau de luminosité complète.

FONCTIONNEMENT DU BALADEUR iPod®/ TÉLÉPHONE-BALADEUR iPhone
Cet appareil est doté de deux stations d’accueil qui peuvent recevoir et charger
simultanément deux baladeurs iPod® différents ou un baladeur iPod® et un téléphonebaladeur iPhone. Étant donné que cet appareil porte la mention “Fonctionne avec iPhone”, il
n’est pas nécessaire de mettre le téléphone-baladeur iPhone au mode de réception par
antenne pour éviter les interférences audio. Vous serez en mesure de recevoir et de faire des
appels, sans interférences, pendant le fonctionnement de l’appareil.
La station d’accueil de gauche est réservée à tout modèle de baladeur iPod®; tandis que la
station de droite est réservée à tout modèle de baladeur iPod® ou tout téléphone-baladeur
iPhone.
REMARQUES IMPORTANTES :
A. Identifiée comme iPod®/iPhone, la station d’accueil de droite a la priorité sur cet appareil.
Si vous insérez un baladeur iPod® dans la station d’accueil de gauche et que vous
insérez un baladeur iPod® ou téléphone-baladeur iPhone dans la station de droite,
l’appareil donnera automatiquement priorité au baladeur iPod® ou téléphone-baladeur
iPhone de la station de droite.
B. Si vous insérez un téléphone-baladeur iPhone ou un nouveau modèle de baladeur iPod®
dans l’une ou l’autre des stations d’accueil, il s’écoulera quelques secondes avant que
l’appareil puisse identifier l’appareil en question et que le menu principal soit affiché.
Cela est dû au fait que l’appareil principal et l’appareil inséré dans la station d’accueil
doivent passer par le processus d’authentification avant que la station d’accueil puisse
accepter une commande. CECI EST NORMAL ET NE SIGNIFIE AUCUNEMENT QU’IL
Y A UN PROBLÈME AVEC L’APPAREIL.
Cet appareil est également doté de 6 adapteurs/supports différents pour baladeurs iPod®. Ces
adpatateurs permettent aux anciens modèles de baladeurs iPod® de s’insérer
convenablement dans la station d’accueil. Si un adaptateur était fourni avec le baladeur iPod®
que vous avez acheté, cet adaptateur s’insérera parfaitement dans la station d’accueil. Si
vous possédez un ancien baladeur iPod® qui n’était pas fourni avec un adaptateur, veuillez
sélectionner l’adaptateur approprié pour votre modèle à partir du tableau ci-contre. Chaque
adaptateur est identifié par une lettre de A à F qui se trouve au bas de l’adaptateur.
Sélectionnez l’adaptateur nécessaire en faisant correspondre la lettre au bas de cet
adaptateur à celle dans le tableau. Insérez l’adaptateur dans la station d’accueil (voir
illustration) en vous assurant qu’il se fixe bien en place. Insérez votre baladeur iPod® dans
l’adaptateur et assurez-vous que le connecteur iPod® de cet appareil est inséré à fond dans la
fente située au bas de votre baladeur iPod®. Lorsque le baladeur iPod® est inséré parfaitement
dans la station d’accueil, il s’incline légèrement vers l’arrière, à un angle de 15 degrés. NE
TENTEZ PAS DE LE REDRESSER, CAR CELA POURRAIT ENDOMMAGER LE
CONNECTEUR DE LA STATION D’ACCUEIL OU LE BALADEUR IPOD®.

Lors du branchement d’un baladeur iPod® / téléphone-baladeur iPhone sur cette
station d’accueil, assurez-vous d’utiliser la plaque adaptatrice appropriée;
SINON, CELA RISQUE D’ENDOMMAGER LE BALADEUR iPod® / TÉLÉPHONEBALADEUR iPhone.
Cette station d’accueil comprend 6 adaptateurs amovibles. L’utilisation de l’adaptateur
approprié permet de s’assurer qu’il convient au type de baladeur iPod® / téléphone-baladeur
iPhone que vous possédez, en plus de réduire toute tension sur le connecteur lors du
fonctionnement de l’appareil.
Installation des adaptateurs
1. Consultez le tableau de compatibilité ci-dessous pour choisir
le type d’adaptateur requis pour votre balaldeur iPod® /
téléphone-baladeur iPhone.
2. Insérez cet adaptateur dans la station d’accueil et appuyez
sur celui-ci pour le mettre en place. Le connecteur du
baladeur iPod ne s’insère que d’une seule façon et devrait
entrer parfaitement dans l’orifice situé au bas de l’adaptateur.
3. Alignez soigneusement l’adaptateur, puis installez le baladeur
iPod® / téléphone-baladeur iPhone dans la station d’accueil.
(Assurez-vous que l’appareil n’est pas dans un étui ou “emballage”).
4. Pour enlever ou remplacer un adaptateur, enlevez d’abord le baladeur iPod® /
téléphone-baladeur iPhone de la station d’accueil, saisissez ensuite l’adaptateur et tirez-le
délicatement vers vous.

Remarque : Assurez-vous d’utiliser l’adaptateur requis pour votre appareil et qu’il est inséré

PREPARATION FOR USE
Unpacking And Set Up
• Remove the main unit, the AC adaptor, the 6 iPod® adaptors, the lithium battery(CR2032)
and the external MW Loop Antenna from the carton, and remove all packing material from
the main unit. We recommend that you save the carton and packing material in the event
that the unit ever needs to be returned for service.
• Remove any descriptive labels or stickers from the top or front panels of the unit but do
not remove any labels or stickers from the back or bottom panels.

To prevent fire or shock hazard, disconnect your unit from the main power source when
cleaning.
If the cabinet becomes dusty wipe it with a soft dry cloth. Do not use any wax or polish
sprays on the cabinet.
If the cabinet becomes dirty or smudged with fingerprints, it may be cleaned with a soft
cloth slightly dampened with a mild soap and water solution. Never use abrasive cloths
or polishes, which will damage the finish of your unit.
Caution: Never allow any water or other liquids to get inside the unit while cleaning.

BATTERY BACK-UP SYSTEM
This system includes a battery back-up circuit that will maintain the time and alarm settings,
and the preset tuner memories, in the event of a temporary power interruption. The battery
back-up system requires one 3-Volt lithium button cell (Type CR2032 or equivalent). If the
back-up battery is not installed, or the battery is exhausted, and the AC power supply is
interrupted, the time, alarm, and preset memory stations will be lost. It will be necessary to
reset the unit when the power is restored.
The Battery Back-Up compartment is located on the bottom cabinet.
Activating the Back-Up Battery
The CR2032 lithium battery is already installed in the battery compartment on the bottom,
pull out the small mylar insulation tab as shown in the illustration to begin using the unit for
maintain the time and alarm settings and the preset tuner memories.

Replacing The Back Up Battery
When it’s time to replace the battery the Low Battery lcon (
) will be shown in the lower left
corner of the display. Insert a fresh CR2032 battery following the below procedure, however
leave the unit connected to the AC adaptor while replacing the battery to avoid losing all of your
settings.
1. Turn the unit upside down on a soft surface such as a cloth or towel to avoid scratching
the top cabinet surface.
2. Open the battery compartment cover and remove the old battery as shown in the illustration.
3. Insert a fresh, well-known brand of CR2032 lithium battery into the compartment with the
“+” side facing up. Close the battery compartment cover.

Battery Precautions
Follow these precautions when using a battery in this device.
1. Warning -Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the
same or equivalent type.
2. Use only the size and type of battery specified.
3. Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the battery as indicated in the Battery
Compartment. A reversed battery may cause damage to the device.
4. If the device is not to be used for a long period of time, remove the battery to prevent
damage or injury from possible battery leakage.
5. Do not try to recharge a battery not intended to be recharged; it can overheat and rupture.

Using The AC Adaptor
Connect the small female plug of the AC adaptor to the DC In Jack on the back panel.
Connect the housing of the AC adaptor to the 230V AC outlet.

Using The Remote Control
The CR2032 lithium battery is already installed in the remote control. Pull out the small
mylar insulation tab as shown in the illustration to begin using the remote control.
To use the remote controller, point the remote control transmitter on the remote control toward
the remote control receiver on the front panel of the main unit and press the desired button.
The effective range of the remote controller is approximately 20 feet. Please note that bright
sunlight or artificial light may interfere with the proper operation of the remote control.
Battery Replacement
When the remote operation becomes weak or intermittent, it is time to replace the remote
control battery. Pull out the battery holder, remove the old battery and install a new CR2032
battery in the holder as shown in the illustration. Slide the holder back into the remote control.
NOTE: If the battery is installed incorrectly the remote control will not work.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
• Make sure that you have fully extended the FM antenna wire.
• Be sure to connect the external MW Loop Antenna to the MW Antenna Jack on the back
panel if you are planning to listen to MW radio stations (refer to page 43 for connection
information) .
• Make sure you have removed the mylar insulation tab from the remote control.
• Make sure that the system is connected to an AC outlet that is always “live”.
• Do not connect the system to an AC outlet controlled by a wall switch.
General Controls
Most of the main functions of this system can be operated by the controls on the top panel
of the main unit, or by the buttons on the remote control. If a specific function can
only be operated by the remote control, or by the top panel controls, this will be clearly
indicated in the instructions.
When operating this system with the remote control, make sure that the IR (Infrared)
transmitter on the front of the remote control is pointed at the remote sensor on the front
panel of the main unit.
The effective operating range of the remote control is approximately 20 feet. Please note that
bright sunlight or room lighting may interfere with the remote control operation. If the remote
control is not operating properly, try reducing the brightness of the room or moving closer to
the main unit. If this does not solve the problem, it may be time to change the remote control
battery.
CONNECTING EXTERNAL DEVICES
Auxiliary Input Jack
This system includes an AUX IN Jack to allow you to connect external audio equipment
and listen to the sound from the external equipment through the speakers of this system.
To listen to the external audio source:
• Connect the external audio equipment to AUX IN jack on the rear panel of the system as
shown below. The connection cable is not included:
Select the AUX mode by repeatedly touching the MODE button
on the top panel or by repeatedly pressing the MODE button on
the remote control until the “AUX” indicator appears above the
time display.

Sensor-Touch Control Information
All of the controls on the top panel of the main unit, with the exception of the
/ ON control
®
and the iPod SELECT control, are special ‘Sensor-Touch’ controls. There are no buttons to
‘push’. When you softly touch one of these ‘buttons’, it will flash 3 times to confirm it
understood the command, and then the system will react accordingly.
Daylight Saving / Standard Time Selection
Note: This adjustment can only be made when the system is in the Standby Mode.
If you are currently observing Daylight Saving Time you should make this adjustment before
you set the actual time. If you are currently observing Standard Time you do not need to make
this adjustment now. Wait until the beginning of Daylight Saving Time.
1. With the system in the Standby mode, touch and hold the
MODE control on the top panel or press and hold the MODE
button on the remote control until the number “1” will briefly
appear above the time display and the DST indicator also
appears. The display will advance by one hour. After a few
seconds the number “1” indicator disappears but the DST
indicator remains in the display to confirm that the clock is
showing Daylight Saving Time.
2. At the end of Daylight Saving Time touch and hold the MODE
control on the top panel or press and hold the MODE button
on the remote control. Until the number “0” will briefly appear
above the time display. The display will back up by one hour.
After a few seconds the number “0” indicator and the DST
disappears to confirm that the clock is showing Standard Time.

Setting The Clock
When the system is connected to the 230V 50Hz AC Outlet for
the first time, “0:00” will flash on the display.
Important: Do not press the
/ ON button to turn the system ‘On’. The clock can
only be set when the system is in the Standby Mode.
1.) Touch and hold the TIME SET control on the top panel, or depress and hold the TIME
SET button on the remote control until only the “Hour” digits are flashing.
2.) Touch the TUNE/SKIP / Buttons on the top panel, or

correct hour. Be sure to observe the word to confirm that
the hour is set correctly.
3.) Touch the TIME SET button on the top panel or depress the
TIME SET button on the remote control then the “Minute”
digits are flashing. Press the

top panel to set the correct minute.
4.) When the correct time appears on the display, touch the
TIME SET button on the top panel or press the TIME SET
button on the remote control once more. The display stops
flashing and the clock begins to run.

Volume Controls
To increase or decrease the system volume, press the VOLUME or button on the
remote control or VOLUME + or - on the top panel.
The Volume Level Indicator will appear on the display when you change the volume level.
The level indicator ranges from “00” (Minimum) to “30” (Maximum).
If the volume level is less than VOL 24, the system remembers the
volume level when the power is switched ‘off’ and automatically
returns to the same level when the power is switched ‘on’ again.
If the volume is level over VOL 24, When the power is switched ‘off’ and automatically returns
to the default level(VOL 15) when the power is switched ‘on’ again.
EQ (ELECTRONIC Preset Equalizer)(On Remote Control Only)
The preset equalizer allows you to adjust the sound characteristic
for the most popular types music.
Press the EQ button on the remote control to cycle through the
following equalization modes:
→ EQ1(FLAT) → EQ2(CLASSIC) → EQ3(ROCK) → EQ4(POP) → EQ5(JAZZ)
The appropriate EQ indicator briefly appears in the display to confirm your selection.
The system remembers the EQ setting when the power is switched ‘Off’ and returns to the
same setting when the power is switched ‘On’ again.
DBBS (Dynamic Bass Boost) Control(On Remote Control only)
Press the DBBS button on the remote control to increase the bass response. Press again to
cancel the Bass Boost function.
MUTE Button (On Remote Control Only)
Press the MUTE button on the remote control to shut off the
speakers temporarily, for example, to answer the telephone.
The sound stops and the Volume Level indicator begins flashing
on the display.
Press the MUTE button again to cancel the mute function and restore the sound.
The mute function will also be cancelled automatically by pressing the VOLUME or
on the remote control or touch the VOLUME + or - on the top panel.

RADIO OPERATIONS
1.) Press the
/ ON button on the top panel or on the
remote control to turn the system ‘On’. The initial default
Mode for this system is the iPod® function. The “iPod®”
indicator will flash above the time display.
2.) Touch the MODE button on the top panel or press the
MODE button on the remote control until a FM or MW
frequency appears above the time display.
3.) Tune to the desired station as follows:
Automatic Tuning
Press and hold the

buttons on the remote control or touch the TUNE/SKIP /
buttons on the top panel until the frequency display starts to change, then release the
buttons. The Tuner will search up or down the band for the next strong signal and stop
on that station.
Manual Tuning
Repeatedly press the

buttons on the remote control or touch the TUNE/SKIP
/ buttons on the top panel until the display shows the frequency of the desired
station. Note: Use the Manual Tuning method to tune to stations with weaker signals
that may be bypassed during Automatic Tuning.
4.) If you tuned to a FM Stereo station the Stereo (ST)
indicator will appear in the display. If FM stereo reception
is noisy or weak, press the FM ST/MO button on the remote
control to select the FM Mono mode. This will usually
improve the reception but the sound will no longer be in
stereo.
5.) When you finished listening press the
/ ON button on the top panel or on the remote
control to turn the system ‘Off’. The radio station frequency disappears from the display.

PRESETTING STATIONS IN THE TUNER MEMORY
Up to 40 stations (20 MW / 20 FM) can be stored in the tuner memory for easy recall at any
time. Use either the Automatic or Manual tuning methods described on page 42 to tune
to the first station to be stored in memory. (Example “FM 103.5 MHz”)
1.) When the desired station frequency appears in the display, press
and release the TIME SET / MEMORY button on the remote
control or touch TIME SET / MEMORY on the top panel. The P –
01(Preset Memory #1) indicator will begin flashing in place of the
radio frequency display.
To enter your station in Preset Memory #1, press the TIME SET
/ MEMORY button on the remote control or touch TIME SET /
MEMORY control on the top panel again. The P – 01 will stop
flashing and remain on the display for 5 seconds, and then the
display will return to the selected radio frequency. Your selected
station has now been entered in Preset Memory #1.
Note: You must press the TIME SET / MEMORY button while the memory indicator is flashing
in order to enter the station in memory. If the memory indicator stops flashing the station will
not be entered in the memory.
2.) Tune to the next station that you want to memorize and when
that station appears in the display press the TIME SET /
MEMORY once. The P – 01 indicator begins flashing. Press the
PRESET / MENU + or - button on the remote control or touch
PRESET / ALM1 - or PRESET / ALM2 + control on the top panel
to select a different preset memory number, and then press the
TIME SET / MEMORY button once more to enter your station in
the selected preset memory number.
3.) Repeat Step 2, choosing a different preset memory number
each time until you have entered up to 20 stations on one band.
You may then select the MW band and follow the same
procedure to preset up to 20 MW stations in the tuner memory.

PRESETTING STATIONS IN THE TUNER MEMORY
Recalling Preset Stations
Simply press the PRESET / MENU + or - buttons on the remote control or touch the PRESET
/ ALM1 - or PRESET / ALM2 + control on the top panel to scroll forward or backward through
the preset station memories.
Changing Preset Stations
Tune to the new station you want to memorize, press the TIME SET / MEMORY button on the
remote control or touch the TIME SET / MEMORY control on the top panel, then press the
PRESET / MENU + or - buttons on the remote control or touch the PRESET / ALM1 - or
PRESET / ALM2 + control on the top panel to select the memory number you wish to change.
When that memory number is flashing in the display, press the TIME SET / MEMORY button
once. The new station is entered in the memory and the previously memorized station is
erased.
Important: The back-up batteries will maintain the preset tuner memories in the event of a
power interruption. However if the back up batteries are not installed, or exhausted, and the
Adaptor is disconnected from the wall outlet or the plug is removed from the back of this
system, the preset tuner memories will be erased. It will be necessary to re-enter the stations
in the preset tuner memories when power is restored.

SLEEP TIMER
This system includes a programmable Sleep Timer that allows you to fall asleep to between
10 and 120 minutes of music and then turns the unit to standby automatically.
To operate the sleep timer:
1.) Turn the system ‘On’ and operate the TUNER function as usual.
2.) Press the SLEEP button on the remote control or the SLEEP control on the top panel.
3.) The display will show “SLEEP 120”indicating that the sleep
timer will shut the power off after 120 minutes.
Repeatedly press the SLEEP button to decrease the amount of sleep timer operation.
4.) After a few seconds the Sleep Time display disappears and
the normal TUNER display returns, but the small SLEEP
indicator remains in the display. When the Sleep Timer
counts down to“00”, the unit returns to the Standby
(Power ‘Off”) mode automatically.
Note:
•
You can shut the unit off manually before the Sleep Timer counts down to “00” by pressing
the
/ ON button at any time.

ALARM SETTING
NOTES:
• Use the Remote Control, you can set the Alarms in STANDBY mode or operation mode.
(The ALM1/ALM2 on the top panel can only be set when the system is in the standby mode.)
• When setting the alarm be sure to observe to confirm that you have set the wake-up hour
correctly.
• The procedure for setting Alarm 1 and Alarm 2 is the same. The example below is for Alarm 1.
1). Press and hold the ALM 1 button on remote control or touch
and hold the ALM 1 control on top panel, while the system is
in the standby mode, the default alarm time (6:00) and the
default alarm mode (iPod®) begin flashing in the display.
Continue holding the ALM 1 button until only the HOUR digits
are flashing.
2). Press the
or
buttons on the remote control or touch the
TUNE/SKIP or
control on the top panel repeatedly to set
the display to the desired wake-up Hour.
3). Press the ALM 1 button again. The Hour digits stop flashing
and the Minute digits begin flashing.
4). Press the

control on the top panel repeatedly to set
the display to the desired wake up minutes.
5). Press the ALM 1 button once more to select the wake-up
Alarm Mode (iPod®, Radio or Buzzer). One of the 3 Alarm

control on the top panel repeatedly to select the desired
wake up mode, iPod®, Radio, or Buzzer (BUZZ).
6). Press the ALM 1 button once more. If you selected either the
iPod® or Radio Alarm Mode, the Volume Level indicator begins
flashing. Press the

touch the TUNE/SKIP or control on the top panel – not the
Volume

buttons - repeatedly to set the desired wake
up volume level. Note: if you selected the wake up to Buzzer
alarm mode the volume level is fixed and cannot be adjusted.
7). When all settings are completed press the ALM 1 button once
more to exit the setting mode and activate Alarm 1. The
display will continue to show all of your alarm settings for a few
seconds and then return to the current time. However the
Alarm 1 indicator ( ) will remain in the display to confirm that
the alarm is active.

8). At the selected wake-up time the system will turn on to the mode you selected. The alarm
will continue for 1 hour and then shut off automatically and reset itself for the same time
on the following day. Note: If you selected the wake to iPod® mode but there is no iPod®
docked at the wake up time, the system will default to the wake to Buzzer mode
automatically.
NOTE: If you selected the RADIO alarm mode, at the selected wake-up time the system
will turn on to the last station you have listened. If you selected the wake to iPod® or radio
mode, and the system is in iPod® or radio operation mode at the wake up time, the system
will default to the wake to Buzzer mode automatically.
9). To shut the alarm off sooner, press the
/ ON (Power “Off’) button at any time.
To check the alarm settings at any time, press the appropriate
ALM 1 or ALM 2 button. The display will briefly show the current
alarm settings for a few seconds and then return to the correct
time, but the Alarm indicator will remain in the display indicating
that the alarm is active. To deactivate the alarm press the
appropriate ALM 1 or ALM 2 button once more. The Alarm
indicator disappears and the alarm is cancelled.
Snooze / Display Dimmer Control
When the alarm turns the system ‘On’ to wake you, touch the SNOOZE / DIMMER area on the
top panel or press the SNOOZE / DIMMER button on the remote control. The alarm will stop
for 9 minutes and then turn ‘On’ again. This action can be repeated continuously, but if you
don’t press SNOOZE / DIMMER button again, after one hour the alarm will not turn ‘On’ again.
The SNOOZE indicator appears in the display during Snooze Timer operation.” To switch
SNOOZE function off, you can press
/ ON button.
During normal operation touch the SNOOZE / DIMMER area on the top panel or press the
SNOOZE / DIMMER button on the remote control to control the brightness of the display.
There are 6 levels of brightness that you can select. If you continue to press this control the
display will return to full brightness.

iPod®/iPhone OPERATIONS
This AKAI system includes two separate docking stations so that you can dock and charge two
separate iPod® models, or one iPod® and one iPhone model simultaneously. Since this model
is ‘Works With iPhone’ certified it is not necessary to place your iPhone in the Airplane mode
to avoid audio interference. You will be able to make and receive calls, without interference,
while the system is in operation.
Use the left side dock for any docking iPod® model. Use the right side dock for any docking
iPod® model or any iPhone model.

The right side dock labeled iPod®/iPhone has priority in this model. If you are playing an
iPod® in the left side dock labeled iPod® and you insert an iPhone or iPod® in the right
side dock, the system will automatically switch to the iPod® or iPhone in the right side
dock.
When you dock an iPhone or certain newer iPod® models in either dock there may be a
delay of several seconds before the system recognizes the device and the main menu is
displayed. This is because the system and the docked device must go through an
‘Authentication Process’ before the docked device can accept any commands. THIS IS
NORMAL AND NOT AN INDICATION OF ANY PROBLEM WITH YOUR SYSTEM.
This system is supplied with 6 different iPod® adaptor/inserts intended to insure that older
iPod® models fit properly in the docking area. If your iPod® was supplied with a docking
adaptor at the time of purchase, that adaptor will fit properly into the docking area of this
system. If you have an older iPod® model that was not supplied with a docking adaptor, please
select the appropriate adaptor from the chart below. Each adaptor is identified by the letters
“A” through “F” on the bottom of the adaptor. Select the adaptor with the letter that
corresponds to your iPod® model. Position the adaptor in the docking area as shown and
make sure that it ‘locks’ in place, then place your iPod® into the adaptor and make sure that
the iPod® connector on this system is fully inserted into the slot on the bottom of your iPod®.
When properly docked your iPod® should be ‘leaning backward’ slightly on a 15 degree angle.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO “STRAIGHTEN” YOUR IPOD®. THIS COULD RESULT IN DAMAGE
TO THE DOCKING CONNECTOR OR DAMAGE TO YOUR IPOD®.

Choosing The Correct Adaptor
When connecting an iPod® / iPhone to this iPod® Dock, please ensure that the
correct adaptor plate is used. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE
TO THE iPod® / iPhone.
This iPod® Dock comes with 6 removable dock adaptors. Using the correct adaptor ensures
the proper fit for your iPod® / iPhone and helps to reduce the stress on the connector when
operating the iPod® / iPhone.
To place a dock adaptor:
1. Refer to the compatibility table below and select the correct
dock adaptor for the iPod® / iPhone.
2. Place the proper adaptor into the dock and press it into
position. The adaptor will only go in one way. The iPod®
dock connector should fit through the opening in the
bottom of the adaptor.
3. Carefully align and then gently insert the iPod® / iPhone into
the dock. (The iPod® / iPhone must not be in a case or “SKIN”)
4. To remove/replace a dock adaptor, first remove the iPod® / iPhone,
then grip the adaptor and pull gently upwards.
Charging your iPod® / iPhone
Note: Please make sure you are using the correct insert for your iPod® / iPhone and that it is
properly docked into this unit.
FAILURE TO DO SO MAY DAMAGE THE iPod® / iPhone.
When an iPod® / iPhone is inserted into the dock, it will go to standby mode then turn off. While
the iPod® / iPhone is docked in the system, it will recharge (until fully charged). Please note that
older 3rd generation iPod® cannot be charged by this unit.
NOTE: In order to avoid interfering with the reception, the iPod® / iPhone will not be charged in
the TUNER mode(FM / MW).

If your iPod® or iPhone was in the Pause mode when inserted into the dock it may remain
in the Pause mode. In that case touch the Play/Pause (

and resume playback.

5). The MENU button on the remote control works the same way as the MENU button on

displayed Menu list. When the desired Genre, Artist, Album, or Song is ‘highlighted’ on
your iPod® Menu display, press the ENTER button on the remote control to ‘Enter’ or
‘Select’ the highlighted item. If the highlighted item is a specific song, pressing the
ENTER button will begin playback of that song.
6). If you have two iPod models, or an iPod® and an iPhone docked at the same time you
can switch between the two devices by pressing the iPod® SELECT button on the top
panel or the remote control.
7). To pause iPod® playback touch the

8). To stop iPod® playback touch and hold the
