Description

Le sonomètre Initio

®

2 est un instrument qui mesure le niveau sonore pris à l’aide d’un microphone. Il mesure également la pression acoustique et possède un analyseur de son.

Par ailleurs, il permet d’enregistrer des données, de les stocker et de les restituer ultérieurement sur ordinateur.

Un module WIFI (réf 451

470) est également disponible afin de visualiser et d’enregistrer la mesure sur une tablette ou un PC équipé du WIFI.

Equipé de sortie analogique, le Sonomètre Initio

®

2 peut s’utiliser avec une interface d’ExAO disposant d’entrées directes via les fiches bananes ou avec une interface Groomy

®

via la fiche jack.

Utilisation

Lors de la première utilisation, il est conseillé de recharger totalement la batterie de l’Initio2.

Utiliser pour cela le chargeur 𝜇USB (7) livré en emballage séparé. De façon générale, il est recommandé de réaliser des cycles de chargedécharge complets (attendre que l’appareil soit totalement déchargé avant de le recharger complètement).

2.1 Mise en service

- Appuyer sur le bouton de m ise en marche (1) situé sur le côté gauche de l’appareil.

La mesure s’affiche directement sur l’écran de l’appareil.

Pour éteindre l’Initio

®

2, faire un appui court sur le bouton de mise en marche (1) et valider en appuyant sur la molette (3).

2.2 Navigation

®

2 dispose de trois boutons pour la navigation :

Sélection-validation (3):

La molette centrale (3) permet de se déplacer dans les menus de l’Initio

®

2. La validation se fait par un appui bref sur le bouton « OK » au centre de la molette.

Retour (2) :

Le bouton « Retour

» (2) permet de passer d’un type d’affichage à l’autre depuis l’écran principal suivant l’ordre suivant :

- Mesure

- Tableau

- Courbe

A l’intérieur d’un menu, il permet de revenir en arrière.

2.3 Prise de mesure

Mode Sonomètre

Ce mode dispose de 3 grandeurs mesurables :

- Le niveau sonore en dB

- Le niveau sonore pondéré dB(A)

- La pression acoustique efficace en Pa

Pour modifier la grandeur, appuyer sur la mollette depuis l’afficheur principal.

Mode Analyseur

Ce mode donne des informations sur la fréquence du son.

Pour y accéder :

- Appuyer sur le bouton Menu.

A l’aide de la molette, se placer sur Affichage et appuyer sur la molette.

- Se placer sur Analyseur et valider.

Les informations présentes sont :

-

En haut, la forme d’onde du son avec la fréquence fondamentale calculée en détectant les passages par « zéro ».

- En bas, le spectre du son (Transformée de Fourier) avec la fréquence fondamentale en prenant le maximum d’intensité sur la Transformée de Fourier.

- En bas à gauche, la note de musique correspondant à la fréquence calculée.

Pour revenir en mode sonomètre :

- Appuyer sur la touche Menu.

- Se placer sur Affichage et valider avec la molette.

- Sélectionner Afficheur et valider.

2.4 Acquisition de données

L’Initio

®

2 dispose d’une mémoire interne qui lui permet d’enregistrer des mesures. Deux modes sont disponibles :

- Acquisition manuelle :

L’acquisition se fait point par point. Chaque mesure est enregistrée manuellement par l’utilisateur (voir ci-dessous).

- Acquisition temporelle :

L’acquisition se fait en fonction du temps, suivant une durée saisie par l’utilisateur.

2.4.1 Acquisition manuelle

- Appuyer sur le bouton Menu (4).

-

A l’aide de la molette (3), choisir Acquisition et valider par un appui bref sur la molette (3).

- Sélectionner Manuelle.

-

Pour enregistrer une mesure, encadrer l’icône Enregistrer (cercle blanc) et valider par un appui bref sur la molette (3).

-

Pour arrêter l’acquisition encadrer l’icône Stop (carré noir) et valider par un appui sur la molette (3). Valider le choix dans la boîte de dialogue.

2.4.2 Acquisition temporelle

- Appuyer sur le bouton Menu (4).

-

A l’aide de la molette (3), choisir Acquisition et valider par un appui bref sur la molette (3).

- Sélectionner Temporelle.

-

A l’aide de la molette (3), encadrer le chiffre définissant la durée et appuyer sur la molette (3).

- Modifier cette durée en tournant la molette (3) puis valider par un appui au centre de la molette.

-

Dans le cas d’une acquisition en boucle (reprise de l’acquisition à zéro au bout du temps défini) sélectionner En boucle.

- Valider le choix final en sélectionnant OK.

Les acqu isitions en fonction du temps durent entre 60 secondes et 50 heures. L’intervalle entre deux mesures se règle automatiquement.

2.4.3 Enregistrement des données

Une fois l’acquisition terminée (temporelle ou manuelle), il est nécessaire de l’enregistrer afin de récupérer les points sur ordinateur.

- Appuyer sur le bouton Menu (4)

- Sélectionner Fichier et valider

- Sélectionner Enregistrer

Une seule acquisition peut être enregistrée. En sélectionnant Ouvrir, vous ouvrez la dernière acquisition enregistrée.

2.4.4 Transfert des données sur ordinateur

Une fois l’acquisition terminée, il est possible de transférer les données sur un ordinateur pour les traiter :

- Installer le logiciel Initio

Charger l’acquisition enregistrée en cliquant sur l’icône :

Les données apparaissent alors à l’écran. Un clic-droit sur le graphique permet d’accéder à différents outils graphiques.

Visualisation des données

A tout moment, il possible de visualiser les données sous forme d’un tableau ou d’une courbe. Pour cela, il suffit d’appuyer sur la touche Retour (2). On passe ainsi successivement de la mesure au tableau puis à la courbe. Quel que soit l’affichage, il est possible de poursuivre l’acquisition.

Après 5 secondes sans activité, le tableau ou la courbe s’affiche en plein écran. Pour obtenir

à nouveau les fonctions associées, tourner la molette.

Dans le tableau, les flèches situées en bas à droite permettent de se déplacer dans les lignes du tableau.

Sorties analogiques

L’Initio

®

2 est équipé de sorties analogiques sur fiches bananes et sur fiche jack 3.5 mm.

4.1 Fiches bananes

2 à une interface d’ExAO équipée d’entrées directes à l’aide de cordons bananes

Paramétrer l’entrée directe de la façon suivante : o 0dB correspond à -5V o 120dB correspond à +5V

Le paramétrage est terminé, la grandeur affichée est désormais le niveau sonore de symbole L et d’unité le dB.

4.2 Fiche jack

La fiche jack 3.5mm permet de relier l’Initio2 à une interface Groomy

®

(ref.181 000) par exemple. La tension délivrée varie entre 0 et 5V. On a :

- 0 dB correspond à 0V

- 120dB correspond à 5V

Communication WIFI

Grâce au module WIFI (réf. 451 470), il est possible de visualiser les données de l’Initio

®

2 sur une tablette par exemple.

5.1 Mise en place du module WIFI

La mise en place du module WIFI se fait avec l’Initio

®

2 éteint.

Relever la béquille de l’Initio

®

2

- Oter le dos en le faisant glisser vers le bas

- Placer le module WIFI à la place du dos

Bien enfoncer le module jusqu’au clic. La béquille doit pouvoir se rétracter sans forcer.

5.2 Visualisation sur tablette

Une fois le module WIFI installé, il faut paramétrer la tablette :

- Appuyer sur le bouton Menu.

- Sélectionner Paramètres.

- Sélectionner Réseau.

Les informations relatives au module s’affichent à l’écran.

Sur la tablette, choisir le nom du réseau WIFI affiché sur l’Initio

- Ouvrir un navigateur internet

Description

The Initio

®

2 sound level meter is a device that measures the sound level picked up on a microphone. It also measures the sound pressure and is equipped with a sound analyser.

It can also be used to record data, store, and then restore it later on a computer.

A WI-FI module (ref 451 470) is also available for viewing and recording measurements on a tablet or a PC equipped with WI-FI.

Equipped with an analogue output, the Initio

®

2 sound level meter can be used with an ExAO interface equipped with direct inputs via banana jacks or via a Groomy

®

interface and jack.

Utilisation

Upon first use, it is advisable to completely charge the Initio

®

2 battery. Use the 𝜇USB (7) supplied in separate packaging to charge the battery. In general, we recommend using the instrument in complete charge-discharge cycles (wait until it is completely discharged before fully recharging).

2.1 Start-up

- Press the start button (1) situated on the left side of the instrument.

The measurement displays directly on the instrument's screen.

- To switch off the Initio

®

2, briefly press the start button (1) and confirm by pressing the knurled knob (3).

2.2 Browsing

Initio

®

2 has three navigation buttons:

Selection-confirmation (3):

The central knurled knob (3) is to scroll through the menus of the Initio

® the

“OK” button in the center of the knurled knob confirms the selection.

2. Briefly pressing

Back (2):

The "Back" button (2) is used to switch from one type of display to another from the main screen in the following order:

- Measurement

- Table

- Curve

Within a menu it is used to go back a step.

2.3 Tacking measurements

Sound level meter mode

This mode has three measurable parameters:

- Noise levels in dB

- Weighted noise levels in dB (A)

- The effective sound pressure in Pa

To change the parameter, press the knurled knob from the main menu.

Analyser mode

This mode provides information on the sound frequency.

To access:

- Press the Menu button

- Using the knurled knob, select Display and press on the knurled knob.

- Select Analyser and confirm.

The information provided is:

- Above, the shape of the sound wave with the fundamental frequency calculated by detecting the "zero" crossings.

- Below is the sound spectrum (Fourier Transform) with the fundamental frequency obtained by taking the maximum intensity on the Fourier transform.

- Bottom left, the musical note corresponding to the calculated frequency.

To return to sound level meter mode:

- Press the Menu button

- Select Display and confirm with the knurled knob

- Select Display and confirm

2.4 Data acquisition

®

2 has an internal memory that enables it to save measurements. Two modes are available:

- Manual acquisition:

Acquisition is on a point by point basis. Each measurement is manually recorded by the user

(see below)

- Time acquisition:

Data acquisition takes place as a function of time, according to a duration entered by the user.

2.4.1 Data acquisition

- Press the Menu button (4)

- Using the knurled knob (3), select Acquisition and confirm by a short press on the knurled knob (3).

- Select Manual

- To record a measurement, select the Save icon (white circle) and confirm by briefly pressing the knurled knob (3).

- To stop the recording select the Stop icon (black square) and confirm by pressing the knurled knob (3). Confirm the selection in the dialogue box.

2.4.2 Time acquisition

- Press the Menu button (4)

- Using the knurled knob (3), select Acquisition and confirm by briefly pressing on the knurled knob (3)

- Select Time

- Using the knurled knob (3), select the number defining the duration and press on the knurled knob (3).

- Modify this duration by turning the knurled knob (3) then confirm by pressing on the centre of the knurled knob.

- If the data acquisition is to loop (return of the acquisition to zero at the end of a defined period) select Loop

- Confirm the final choice by selecting OK

Data acquisitions based on time last between 60 seconds and 50 hours. The interval between two measurements adjusts automatically.

2.4.3 Recording the data

Once the acquisition is complete (time or manual) it must be saved to be able to retrieve the points on a computer.

- Press the Menu button (4)

- Select File and confirm

- Select Save

Only a single data acquisition can be saved. By selecting Open, you open the last saved data acquisition.

2.4.4 Transferring the data to the computer

Once the acquisition is complete, it is possible to transfer the data to a computer to process it:

- Install the Initio

®

2 software available at www.jeulin.fr/Initio2

- Connect the Initio

®

2 to the computer via the USB𝜇USB cable

- Launch the Initio

®

2 software

- Load the saved acquisition by clicking on the icon:

The data then appears on the screen. Right-clicking the chart provides access to various graphic tools.

Data visualisation

It is possible to view the data at any moment in tabular or chart format. To do so, simply press the Back button (2). The display then toggles between table and chart measurements.

Regardless of the current display, data acquisition can be monitored.

After 5 seconds without activity, the table or chart is displayed in full screen. To again obtain the associated functions, turn the knurled knob.

In the table, the arrows situated at the bottom right are used to move between the rows of the table.

Analogue outputs

2 is equipped with banana jack and 3.5 mm jack analogue outputs.

4.1 Banana jacks

- Connect the Initio2 to an ExAo interface equipped with direct inputs using banana leads.

- Configure the direct input in the following manner: o 0dB corresponds to -5V o 120dB corresponds to +5V

Configuration is complete, the value displayed is now the sound level with symbol L and the units are dB.

4.2 Jack

The 3.5mm jack is to connect the Initio2 to a Groomy

®

interface (ref. 181 000) for example.

The voltage supplied varies between 0 and 5V. So that:

- 0 dB corresponds to 0V

- 120dB corresponds to 5V

WI-FI communication

Thanks to the WI-FI module (ref. 451 470) it is possible to view the Initio

®

2 data on a tablet for example.

5.1 Installation of the WI-FI module

The WI-FI module is implemented with the Initio

®

2 switched off.

- Raise the handle of the Initio2

- Remove the back by sliding it down

- Position the WI-FI module at the back

- Push the module firmly into place until it clicks. The handle must be able to retract without forcing.

5.2 Viewing on a tablet

Once the WIFI module is installed, the tablet must be configured:

- Press the Menu button

- Select Settings

- Select Network

The module information is displayed on the screen.

- On the tablet, choose the name of the WI-FI network displayed on the Initio

®

2.

- Open a web browser

- Enter the address displayed by the Initio2 in the address bar of the browser.

Various information concerning the Initio can be obtained by pressing on Menu and selecting

This page displays the serial number of the device and the software version, the battery charge level and the operating language. The latter is changed by turning the knurled knob.
