Frequently asked questions

The recommended daily usage is 50 passes per day, with a 5 minutes on and 20 minutes off cycle.

The maximum sheet capacity is 10 sheets of 75gsm paper. Heavier weight paper or the presence of staples/paperclips will reduce the maximum sheet capacity.

Empty the waste bin, then try reversing the shredder to clear the jam. If this doesn't work, disconnect power, trim off paper above and below the jam, reconnect power, and try alternating between reverse and auto until the jam clears.

It is not essential to lubricate the Aurora AS1023CD shredder, but regular lubrication will extend its life and keep it in optimum working condition. It is recommended to use Aurora SP1000 Shredder Lubrication and Sharpening sheets at least once a month.

The ShredSafe feature has three positions: Closed (for CD shredding only), Open (for normal shredding), and Fully open (safety power off). If fingers or objects are pushed into the entry slot when in position 2, the ShredSafe cover will be pushed open fully, cutting the power to the shredder and preventing injury or damage.
