Selecting fine audio equipment such as the unit you've just purchased is only the start of your
musical enjoyment. Now it's time to consider how you can maximize the fun and excitement your
equipment offers. This manufacturer and the Electronic Industries Association's Consumer
Electronics Group want you to get the most out of your equipment by playing it at a safe level.
One that lets the sound come through loud and clear without annoying blaring or distortion and,
most importantly, without affecting your sensitive hearing.
Sound can be deceiving. Over time your hearing "comfort level" adapts to higher volumes of
sound. So what sounds "normal" can actually be loud and harmful to your hearing. Guard against
this by setting your equipment at a safe level BEFORE your hearing adapts.
To establish a safe level:
• Start your volume control at a low setting.
• Slowly increase the sound until you can hear it comfortably and clearly, and without
distortion.
Once you have established a comfortable sound level:
• Set the dial and leave it there.
Taking a minute to do this now will help to prevent hearing damage or loss in the future. After all,
we want you listening for a lifetime.

built up static charges. Section 810 of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/ NFPA No.70-1984,
provides information with respect to proper grounding of the mast and supporting structure,
grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna discharge unit, size of grounding conductors,
location of antenna discharge unit, connection to grounding electrodes, and requirements for
the grounding electrode. See figure 1.

Object and Liquid Entry - Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and liquids are not
spilled into the enclosure through openings.
Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus
has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has
been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to
rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
Servicing - The user should not attempt to service the appliance beyond that described in the
operating instructions. All other servicing should be referred to qualified service personnel.
The MAINS plug or an appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect
device shall remain readily operable.
Battery pack or battery installed should not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine,
fire or the like.
Caution marking and nameplate are located on back of product.

The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no objects filled with

As the laser beam used in this compact disc player is harmful to the eyes, do not
attempt to disassemble the casing.
Stop operation immediately if any liquid or solid object should fall into the cabinet.
Do not touch the lens or poke at it. If you do, you may damage the lens and the player
may not operate properly.
Do not put anything in the safety slot. If you do, the laser diode will be ON when the CD
door is still open.
This unit employs a laser. The use of controls or adjustment or performance of
procedures other than those specified here may result in exposure to hazardous
radiation.

ON PLACEMENT
• Do not use the unit in places which are extremely hot, cold, dusty or humid.
• Place the unit on a flat and even surface.
• Do not restrict the air-flow of the unit by placing it in a place with poor ventilation, by covering it
with a cloth or by placing it on a carpet.
ON CONDENSATION
• When left in a heated room where it is warm and damp, water droplets or condensation may form
inside the unit.
• When there is condensation inside the unit, the unit may not function normally. Let it stand for 1 to
2 hours before turning the power on, or gradually heat the room up and dry the unit before use.
Should any trouble occur, remove the power source and refer servicing to qualified personnel.

Avoid installing the unit in locations described below:

INSTALLATION
FOR TABLE TOP USE
The stand is attached to the main unit for table top use as figure 1a below. You can also attach the
speaker boxes to the main unit as figure 1b shown below.

CAUTION: Use a screwdriver to tighten all speaker hanger screws (included) to avoid accidental
falling before mounting speaker boxes to the main unit.
FOR WALL MOUNTING
1) Remove the speaker boxes and the stand from the main unit.
2) Use the wall-mounting template supplied with the unit to make anchor hole marks on the wall.
Make sure the marks are level before drilling.
3) Drill 1/4” holes on the marks.
4) Insert the included plastic anchors into the holes and push in until they are flush with the wall.
5) Insert the included screws into the anchors and tighten until the screw head is about 6.5mm
away from the wall. Line up the slots located on the back of the main unit and speakers with the
screws in the wall. See illustration below.
NOTE: This unit is not magnetically shielded and may cause color distortion on the screen of some
TVs or video monitors. To avoid this, you may need to move the unit further away from the TV or
monitor if unnatural color shifts or image distortion occurs.

GETTING STARTED
SPEAKER CONNECTION
Place one speaker on the left side of the main unit and connect the speaker wire to the speaker
connector “L” located on the left hand side of the main unit. Place the other speaker on the right
side of the main unit and connect the speaker wire to the speaker connector “R” located on the left
hand side of the main unit.
ANTENNA CONNECTION
FM: Untie and fully extend the FM Antenna wire for best reception.
AM: Plug in the AM loop antenna into AM antenna socket located on the left hand side of the main
unit.
POWER SUPPLY
This Micro System operates on 120V AC~ 60Hz line power supply.
The remote control unit operates on a ‘CR2032” lithium battery (Included).
AC POWER CONNECTION
Connect the power cord to an AC 120V AC~ 60Hz power source.
Remarks:
In case of malfunction due to electrostatic discharge (ESD), reset the unit by disconnecting and
reconnecting the AC CORD to reset and to resume normal operation.

REPLACING THE REMOTE CONTROL BATTERY
1. Turn over the remote control, and remove the battery door.
2. Install 1 “CR2032” lithium battery according to the polarity diagram
on the battery compartment.
3. Replace the battery door.
CLOCK SETTING
NOTE:
i. The clock is flashing and has to be set the first time you plug the unit in. You will need to reset the
clock if the unit is disconnected from the main power or if there is a power outage or interruption.
ii. The Clock is set to default in 12 Hour format mode.
TO SET THE CURRENT TIME
1. In STANDBY Mode, press and hold the MEM/CLK-ADJ Button on remote control until 12H
appears and flashes on the LCD.

Button to switch the clock between 12H (12 Hour) and 24H (24 Hour)
format. When 12H or 24H appears and flashes on the LCD, press the MEM/CLK-ADJ to
confirm. The Hour digit will flash to prompt for input.

LISTENING TO RADIO
RADIO TUNING
1. Press the POWER
Button to turn on the unit.
2. Press the FUNCTION button to select “TUNER” (Radio) mode. The AM or FM band radio
frequency will appear on the display.
3. Press the
/ BAND button to switch between AM and FM band.
4. To manually tune the radio station, press the TUNE + or TUNE − button repeatedly.
5. To automatically scan to the next radio station with the strongest signal, press and hold the
TUNE + or TUNE − button for 1-2 seconds until frequency readout on the display begins to scan
and then release the button. The tuner will stop scanning when it receives the next strongest
station signal.
6. Adjust the volume control to the desired volume level.
FM STEREO / MONO RECEPTION
1. This unit provides FM STEREO and FM MONO settings. In stereo mode, the unit will
automatically switch to stereo when a FM stereo broadcast is received and will indicate “
in the LCD.

2. To receive a weak (noisy) FM station, press the ST/MO button to switch the FM mode to
“MONO”. The reception may be improved, but the sound is now monaural (MONO).
Note:
1. When listening to an FM program, fully extend the Wire Antenna to insure maximum tuner
sensitivity.
2. The AM receiver uses an external AM loop antenna. If the AM reception is weak, slightly
rotating or re-positioning the loop antenna will usually improve the AM reception.
3. Automatic tuning depends on the signal strength of the broadcasting station, so week
stations may be skipped. You can manually tune to find the week stations if a station gets
skipped. With strong signals, the tuner may stop before it reaches the actual broadcast
frequency, so you may need to manually tune for the best reception.
PRESET STATIONS (USING REMOTE CONTROL)
This unit is equipped with preset memories for AM and FM. You can store up to 10AM + 10FM
radio stations in the memory.

1. There is a 10 second delay when programming, after 10 seconds, the unit will automatically
switch back to normal tuner mode.
2. You can overwrite a present station by overwriting and storing the new frequency in its place.
CD OPERATIONS
NOTE: This player will not only play commercial CDs, but also self-complied CD-D/RW discs.
Do not attempt to play CD-ROM, CDI, VCD, DVD or computer CDs.
Notes on CD-R/RW Discs
•
Because of non-standardized format definition/production of CD-R/RW/MP3/WMA-CD,
playback quality & performance are not guaranteed.
•
Manufacturer is not responsible for the playability of CD-R/RW/MP3/WMA-CD due to
recording conditions such as PC performance, writing software, media ability, etc.
•
Do not attach a label or seal to either side of the CD-R/RW/MP3/WMA disc. It may cause a
malfunction.
The following procedures can be accomplished by using the remote or controls on the unit.

PLAYING A COMPACT DISC
1. Press the POWER
Button to turn on the unit.
2. Press the FUNCTION button to select “ CD ” mode.
3. Press the “OPEN/CLOSE” button on the main unit to open the CD door.
4. Place a CD inside the tray with the printed side facing up and then close the CD door by
pressing the “ CD door OPEN/CLOSE “ button again.
IMPORTANT: The CD door is a motorized door. DO NOT PUSH OR FORCE THE DOOR
CLOSED WITH YOUR HAND OR USE ANY OTHER MEANS TO OPEN OR CLOSE IT. THIS
COULD DAMAGE THE DOOR MECHANISM.
5. When the disc is loading, “TOC READ” will appear and flashing on the display. After a few
seconds, the LCD display will show the total number of tracks and total playing time.

ID3 DISPLAY (FOR MP3-CD ONLY)
This unit supports ID3 tag display when playing an MP3 - CD if the MP3 files on the disc have this
information included. During MP3 CD playback mode, press the ID3 button on remote control once,
the ID3 icon will appear on the LCD display, and the title of the
song, artist and the album will show on LCD. The information
will scroll across the screen. Press this button again to resume
showing the album and track number, the ID3 icon will
disappear.
NOTE:1. If no name has been assigned for a track, nothing will be displayed on message line of LCD
display when press ID3 button and “NO TAG” will be displayed for a few seconds.
2. The system supports English and Arabic numbers for the ID3 TAG function. No artist/title/album
name will be recognized if the input format on the disc is not supporting by the system.
3. The quality of the MP3 disc varies based on the quality of recorded disc and quality of the files
on the disc. The search time for an MP3-CD is also longer than a normal CD due to difference in
formatting.
PROGRAMMING CD TRACKS (USING REMOTE CONTROL)
Up to 20 tracks can be programmed for playback in the order you desire..
1. In CD stop mode, press the “MEMORY/CLK-ADJ” button once, the program icon “MEM“, track
number 01 (001 for MP3/WMA CD) and program number P01 will appear on LCD display. “MEM”
and track number will flash to prompt for input.

Before docking any iPod model in the docking bay of the system, please
select the proper adaptor for your particular iPod model. Refer to following
table when selecting an adaptor. If none of the adaptor below fit your new iPod,
please use the original adaptor included with your iPod instead.

SLEEP TIMER OPERATIONS
1. In Power On mode, press the SLEEP button on the remote control once, the sleep indicator
will appear on the LCD display.
2. Press the SLEEP button repeatedly to select the desired sleep time. The sleep timer has four
settings to choose from: 90, 60, 30 or 15 minutes. The system will stop and go into standby
mode automatically after selected sleep time has expired.
3. To check the current sleep time, press the SLEEP button once.
4. To cancel the sleep mode, press the SLEEP button repeatedly until the “

- Press the MUTE button on remote control to mute the sound output from speaker temporarily,

PRESET EQ (REMOTE CONTROL ONLY)
This unit provides 5 differences sound mode to enhance your listening experience. You can select
the desired effect by pressing the “ PRESET EQ” button on remote control repeatedly at following

AUXILIARY INPUT
This unit provides an auxiliary audio signal input jack for connecting external audio devices like
MP3 players, CD players and older, non-dockable iPods and listen to your external source through
the speakers of this system.
1. Use an audio cable (not included) with one 3.5 mm stereo plug on each end of the cable.
2. Plug one end into the Aux-in jack on the main unit and the other end of the cable into the
Line-out Jack or Headphone Jack of your external audio device.
3. Turn on the external audio device.
4. To select auxiliary audio input, press the FUNCTION button to select “AUX” mode.
5. The volume level can now be controlled through the main unit. Operate all other functions on the
auxiliary device as usual.

(1) If you connected the Line Out Jack of your external device then you only need to adjust the
volume control of this system. If you connected the Headphone Jack of your external device then
you may need to adjust both the volume control of your external device and the volume control of
this system to find the most desirable volume setting.

switch off the power of your external device as well.
USING HEADPHONES (NOT INCLUDED)
Inserting the plug of your headphones into the Headphone jack will enable you to listen in
private. When using headphones, the speakers will be disconnected.

cleaners to clean the disc. If necessary, use a CD cleaning kit.

If disc skips or gets stuck on a section of the disc, it is probably dirty or damaged (scratched).

When cleaning the disc, wipe in straight lines from the center of the disc to the edge of the disc.
Never wipe in circular motions.

To remove a disc from its storage case, press down on the center of the case and lift the disc
outs, holding it carefully by the edges.

Fingerprints and dust should be carefully wiped off the disc's recorded surface with a soft cloth.
Unlike conventional records. compact discs have no grooves to collect dust and microscopic
debris so gently wiping with a soft cloth should remove most particles.
