1. Install NetDisk (NAS Searching/Mapping utility)
SyncQuick™ NetDisk is a NAS searching and mapping software, specifically designed for NAS Client
users to setup and map the NAS.
1-1 Searching Gigabit NAS by SyncQuick™ NetDisk
1-1-1: Install and activate the NetDisk Utility from enclosed CD
1-1-2: Click''Magnifier icon'' to search NAS : If the NAS is in the same subnet, all NAS device will be
listed under ''Device Name''.
1-1-3: Select the detected NAS device → right click the mouse → select “Open NAS Control page”
to start configurations. (Default User name & Password : admin)
1-2 Searching Gigabit NAS by “SDisk.jar”
1-2-1 Run “Sdisk.jar” program (You might need to install Java platform if required).
1-2-2 Click “Search” to locate NAS
1.1.2 Select NAS and click “Connect” to connect to NAS Control Page.
2. Configuring the Gigabit NAS
Gigabit NAS support Multi-languages user interface. Clicking on the flag to select your language.
2-1 System
2-1-1 Status
In this pages, you can see the basic information for Gigabit NAS, including System, Network, Service
and interface information.

a. System Information.
− t /group name: This is used to identify your device on the network. Clicking “Modify” to
change Host/group name if desired.
− Admin/password: Default password is admin, click ''Modify'' to change password if desired.
− Date and Time: By default, SNTP set in network time service. Click ''Modify” to set the Date
and Time manually if desired.
− Firmware Version : Indicate the current Firmware version.
− File Language Support: Indicate the current file language status. The encoding is set to
English by default. If you want to store or transfer files with a different encoding (different
language), choose the corresponding language from the drop down list.
In order to transfer and view the files correctly, it is important that you select the correct
language!
b. Network Information.
Will show the IP and MAC address of Gigabit NAS.
c. Server Information.
Allow user to enable and disable DHCP, UPNP, SMA, WEBDAV, FTP and Media Server.
d. Interface Information.
Will show the HDD capacity/ info.
2-1-2 Network
In this page, you can configure the LAN config, PPPoE and DDNS.
a. LAN Config: By default, the “IP Setting” set in “Automatic IP”. If you
prefer setting it manually, check the ''static IP'' option, enter your own value IP.
b. PPPoE Setting : PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet) is an internet connection protocol,
allow users to connect with internet without a router

Status: Display PPPoE connection status.
Service Name: It’s an optional field help you remember the configuration.
Account Name: Enter your user name provided by your ISP.
Password: Enter your password provided by your ISP.
Service on Demand: The router will ONLY connect itself to your ISP

When there’s internet request demanded by any LAN user and disconnect itself when the transaction
is done.
c. DDNS Setting : DNS service (Domain Name System) is used for the conversion of IP addresses
from domain names to the numeric format.
Simply apply Domain name from the free DNS site http://www.dyndns.com or
http://www.2mydns.com and input the host name,user name and password .
2-1-3 Maintenance
In this page, you can update Gigabit NAS firmware, go back to default setting or reboot NAS system.
a. Disk Utility: Support EXFAT (FAT64) disk format function, click format to start. This will erase all
data in the Hard Disk! Please backup all your data before formatting.
Note: Always connect the device by LAN cable and perform hard disk format by Disk Utility
on the control page. Do not format by USB connection, error might occur.
b. Firmware update: Allow user to update firmware from UI.
c.
Do not do any action or turn off your unit during the firmware upgrade
process. This may damage your device.
c. System reboot: Allow user to restart the NAS system UI.

d. Factory default: Click “Reset” to go back to the default password setting if desired. Only SAMBA/
FTP account setting will still remain in the NAS, other setting will go back to factory default.
2-2 Server
2-2-1 SAMBA Server
In this pages, you are able to add/modify/disable/delete SMB A/C and limit the accessing right.
Default folder of ''guest'' will be created automatically and shared to all users from Gigabit NAS.
a. How to create User account.
Step 1 : Go to Samba Server → click “Add” button
Step 2 : Enter new account name and password (For example : user1)
Step 3 : Set the shared folder for new account
When a new SMB account is created, NAS system will create a folder with same name accordingly,
new user will only can access the folder by default.
For example, when ''user1'' is added, a folder of ''user1'' will be created automatically. By default,
''user1'' will only can access ''user1'' folder.
Go further down to select other folder from folder list that you wish to share to ''user1''.

Once the new A/C user1 set is down, you can use “Run” from Windows start button, type “\\” and
follow by the Gigabit NAS IP address (eg:\\192.168.1.121), and click “OK” to access SMB by
user 1.
b. How to modify/delete SAMBA account
(1). Select the account name you want to modify → choose ''Modify'' to save setting. (You are able
to modify the password)
(2). Select the account name you want to delete → choose ''delete'' to save setting. (To delete the
account will also erase all data stored)
2-2-2 WebDAV Server
WebDAV set of extensions to the HTTPS(s) protocol that allow web server to appear as a standard
network drive for easily connecting and accessing. With WebDAV support, users will be able to
access the network drive like as if using their C:\ hard drive.
a. How to create WebDAV account
Step 1 : Go to “WebDAV Server” → click “Add” →
“User2” ) → click ''Add'' to save setting.

c. How to connect WebDAV in Windows XP
Step 1 : Right click on “May computer” and select “Map Network Drive”.
Step 2 : Click “Sign up for the online storage or connect to a network server”.
Step 3: Select “Choose another network location”

Step 4 : Enter Internet or Network address.
For example (Network): Enter network address

Step 5 : Enter the user name and password (For example : User2)
Step 6 : Name the network place → click ''Next'' to save setting. This is the name that will show up in
the ''My Network Places'' listing.
Step 7 : Access WebDAV from ''My network places ''

(For example : 192.168.1.21) → Enter your user name and password in the authentication box that
appears. (For example : User2)
For Microsoft, the maximum file size limit for WebDAV transfer is 500MB, in order to free
this limitation, please activate ''WebDAV registry Editor'' to allow from the enclosed CD.
After WebDAV Registry Editor is updated, the maximum file size limit for WebDAV transfer
is up to 4GB.
If you require to have no limitation on file transfer size, WebDAV software is
another alternative, free software like BitKinex or Netdrive can be
downloaded from :

2-2-3 FTP Server
In order to perform FTP server, you need a mapping Router NAT to assign the external IP to your NAS.
Please check your Router instruction for NAT setting.

FTP server configuration: Standard port for FTP service is 21. You can change it into any port
ranging from 1025-6550 if required.
Anonymous: Anonymous user name has been created by default, allow FTP users to log-in without
user name and password.
a. How to create FTP account
Step 1 : Go to “FTP Server” → click “Add” →
“User1” ) → click ''Add'' to save setting.

account will also erase all data stored)
2-2-4 P2P Server
a. Bit Torrent Setup
Step 1 : Go to “P2P server” → choose “Download Path” (DO NOT change path setting during the
process of downloading).
Step 2 : Click on “Browse” → select torrent file → click ''start''

b. Download Queue
Select the torrent in Download Queue → check ''Basic'' or '' Detail'' to have more info about the
torrent.
- Support downloading 4 torrent at a time.
- The max torrent uploaded in download queue is 32 torrent.
c. BT Option.
In this page, you can set the Sever Port, Upload limit, Download limit .

server port range can be set from 6881 to 65535. (6881 is the default setting),

upload speed limit: 0=unlimited
upload speed (4 KBps is the minimum speed)
d. BT Mail Notification.
In this page, you can set a designated e-mail to receive any notification when any job is finished.
Go → “Mail setup” → enter server, recipient email, SMTP A/C, Password → click “Apply” to save
setting.
2-2-5 Media Server (X-BOX 360 / PS3)
Gigabit NAS is equipped to handle most media ready systems such as Xbox360/PS3. Instantly stream
movies, music and pictures to these systems easily. When you turn on the Xbox360/PS3, DLNA
Media servers on the same network are automatically detected.

Step 1 : Go to the “Media Server” page →
set the folder for Photo, Music and video.
Step 2 : When you turn on the Xbox360/PS3, DLNA Media servers on the same network are
automatically detected.
Step 3 : Choose the DLNA media server that was connected and select the file you want to play.
2-2-6 iTunes Server
Store your MP3 music files in the /public/music folder and play them directly from iTunes. The NAS
system will automatically appear in iTunes under shared devices.
Start iTunes → select ''Shared'' → chose the detected NAS → display Music
Go → Media Server → click ''build'' → will list the volume of MP3 files stored on \public\music.

3. Q&A
Q: What is Gigabit NAS default IP?
A: The default IP address for Gigabit NAS is 169.254.0.1 or enter “storage” in
IE browser bar to search for it.
Q: What is Gigabit NAS default login name and password?
A: The Gigabit NAS default Login name: “admin”, default password: “admin”.
Q: I lost my password, what do I do?
A : Power off the NAS → Press and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds → Power on → release
the reset button → besides SAMBA/WebDAV/FTP account will not be erased, other setting will go back
to default.
Q: Why can’t I create accounts in SAMBA / WebDAV / FTP ?
A: To avoid languages support issue, you are suggested to create/share folders with English
characters only.
Q: Why can’t I upload the files via LAN connection or got disconnected?
A : Please make sure the Gigabit NAS is connected properly and you have the access right (read &
write) for the folders.
Q: Why WinXP can not enter SMB folder with password via Gigabit NAS?
A: Please update Win XP to SP2 or above. If you have Norton Internet Security installed, please
check with Norton Service Center.
Q: What O/S and file system does Gigabit NAS support?
A1: Support OS : XP(SP3), Vista(SP2),Windows7 / MAC OS X (10.5.X) / Linux (Samba 3.X)
A2 : File System :SATA File System Format EXFAT (maximum single file size 127GB)
Q: What is the maximum number of users & shared folders for SAMBA/WebDAV/FTP?
A: SAMBA/WebDAV/FTP Server: Maximum create 16 user accounts & 16 folder shared by each
account.
Q: Does WebDAV support Win XP SP1?
A : Microsoft Windows start WebDAV support form XP Service pack 2, if you still using service pack 1,
please download and install file “Webfldrs-KB907306” from Microsoft support website.
Q: Does WebDAV support Mac O/S?
A: Yes. WebDAV can be use in Mac O/S 10.5 above. For more setup information, please refer to
WebDAV support website: www.webdav.org/goliath/dav_on_x.
