The SAT42 is a Satellite Distribution Amplifier for
use in SMATV multiple dwelling applications. It
features high output with adjustable gain and
equalisation controls. (See Fig. 1) The terrestrial
input and output diplexers on the SAT42 are
designed to separate and/or combine RF signals
(5-860 MHz) for integrated distribution systems.
A simple coaxial cable can be connected between
the input and output terrestrial diplexers if 5-860
MHz signals are to be passed but not amplified.
If the terrestrial RF signals are to be amplified a
DW42 or DA43 can be added. If no 5-860 MHz
signals are to be passed the connections should
be terminated by a 75 load.

ADJUSTMENTS
Gain: Set the output level according to the
network calculations. Adjustment range is
0-20 dB.
Important Note: The Power though
terrestrial switch may be used to power an
external Free-to-Air Amplifier. The SAT42 has
been designed to run on 12-18 V DC allowing
both the amplifier and LNB to be powered
simultaneously. 12 V for vertical, 18 V for
horizontal transponder polarisation.

INSTALLATION
The SAT42 is intended for indoor use.
There must be free circulation of air around
the amplifier and sufficent space for the
cable connections.
CABLE CONNECTIONS
The input/output cable connectors are ‘F’ Type.
POWERING OPTIONS
Local Powering: The supply voltage (12-18 V DC)
can be supplied by the mains adaptor PSK12s or
PSK18s which plugs directly into the amplifier
power socket. Accessory ADC322 maybe purchased
for one power supply to run 2 amplifiers.
Line Powering: Achieved via the the coaxial cable
to the Satellite and terrestrial output socket by
using Kingray line powering accessories i.e. PIK01
(See Fig.2)

Current Consumption: Consider Current rating of
power supply when powering multiple units.
Equalisation: Level according to the network
calculations. Adjustment range is 0-15 dB.
