1. PRECAUTIONS

WARNING

• For your safety, the driver should not watch any video sources and/or operate the controls while driving.

Please note that watching and operating any video sources while driving are prohibited by law in some countries.

Also, while driving, keep the volume to a level at which external sounds can be heard.

• Do not disassemble or modify this unit. It may cause an accident, fire, or electric shock.

• Do not use this unit when a trouble exists, such as no screen content appears or no sound is audible.

• In case of a problem, such as any material has been entered in the unit, the unit gets wet, or smoke or strange smells come out of the unit, etc., stop using this unit immediately, and consult your authorized dealer or a nearest Clarion service center.

• Use a fuse with the same specification only when replacing the fuse.

1. This unit uses a precision mechanism. Even in the event that trouble arises, never open the case, disassemble the unit, or lubricate the rotating parts.

2. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. Generalities

For a longer service life, be sure to read the following cautions.

• Do not allow any liquids on the set from drinks, umbrellas, etc. Doing so may damage the internal circuitry.

• Do not disassemble or modify the set in any way. Doing so may result in damage.If a problem should occur, have the set inspected at your store of purchase.

Cleaning

• Cleaning the cabinet

Use a soft, dry cloth and gently wipe off the dirt.

For tough dirt, apply some neutral detergent diluted in water to a soft cloth, wipe off the dirt gently, then wipe again with a dry cloth.

Do not use benzene, thinner, car cleaner, etc., as these substances may damage the cabinet or cause the paint to peel. Also, leaving rubber or plastic products in contact with the cabinet for long periods of time may cause stains.

2. FEATURES

This DVB-T module is fully compliant with the international DVB standard and thus transmits digital images, sounds and information guides directly to your TV through the terrestrial broadcasting. Now you can comfortably see and receive digitally transmitted music, news, movie and sports terrestrial broadcasts in your office on at your home. In the Channel Search section, both the automatic channel search method and the manual Search mode are provided. The Menu is very modern and supports different languages. All functions can be carried out using the TSP, touch screen panel, and some of the functions can also be carried out using the front panel. The slim module is easy to use and adaptable for future advances. Please be aware that new software may change the functions of the slim module.

4. Search channel

If your slim module is connected to the aerial and television, you can automatically search channels without entering any other information. it is because no channel storage search, you can set up search mode and the country.

Remark:

a) Press the [Menu] button to enter the main menu interface, three icons screen, that were

b) Press the [Return] button to return the main menu, press the [Return] button to exit the menu

4.1 Automatic Search

a) Press the [Automatic Search] button, Into

the automatic search interface, Wait while the receiver searches for the channels, this may take a few minutes.(Figure 4.4 show) b) In automatic search period, the progress instructed that the strip will have the search progress indication, in search period, press

the [SAVE] button to save the channel or

press [Return] button to exit.

c) If search operation is successfully completed, and the channel does not exist,

press the [Return] button to select Exit and

try to reset the search operation again if necessary. d) The auto search will complete the program which the automatic demonstration will search in the left side program tabulation, please choose save and exit menu.

4.2 Manual Search

a) Press the [Manual Search] button to

select Manual Search, enter manual search interface.

b) You can use [ ] / [ ] button to select

channel and frequency , press the [OK]

button to enter,you can using [ ] / [ ] button

to change channel and frequency. (Figure 4.5 show)

c) Use the [ ] / [ ] button to select search

button, press the [OK] button to search.

d) When completing Channel Search, press

the [OK] button can automatic to save the

changes and display program.

5. Basic Operation

This chapter describes functions such as switching channel, volume control, and basic features for watching programs.

5.1 Switching Channel

• Pressing the [ ] / [ ] button may transform to the neighboring channel on panel or on screen (Figure 5.1 show).

5.2 Volume Control

Press the [ ] button to high volume, pressing

the [ ] button to low volume. (Figure 5.3 show)

6. Channels List

Remark

a) Channel list menu can be set up and edit channels like Channel;

b) Press the [List] button to display the interface, (Figure 6.1 show);

6.1 Edit Channels

a) Into the channel menu list;

b) Press the [ ] / [ ] button to select edit menu channel, using the [OK] button to into the edit

interface channel (Figure 6.2 show).

c) Red button is locked, is the key to unlock the green, yellow button is removed, the blue button is editing, The panel button to lock the corresponding colors / unlock / Delete / editor, and other function

6.2 TV/RADIO Switch

When display DVB-T, After press the [List] button can see the TV channel list, press the [ ] or [

] button switch to broadcast mode. In this state of the [TV/RADIO] button in the TV or switch back

and forth between RADIO mode.

7. EPG (Electric Program Guide)

The Program Guide displays program information about each channel, based on the date and time.

(Figure 7.1show)

Remark:

Press the [EPG] button to into the program menu pages, press the [Return] button to exit, Some

local program providers do not provide services in this area, may lead to the menu can not be used.

7.1 Program Guide Information

You can view program information for all channels.

a) Press the [EPG] button to into the program guide information pages. Press the Red button to

switch windows area of channels, dates and programs column window.

b) Move to previous or next program within the same programs column windows use [ ] / [ ]

button.

c) Move to another desired channel use [ ] / [ ] button in channels column windows.

d) Press the[ ] or [ ]

button to adjust dates of desired programs in dates column window.

e) Select your desired program, and press the [OK] button. Then you can watch the program if it is

on air, or you can reserve it if it is the future program.

8. Subtitle

You can select the language for the subtitle if the program provides subtitle information.

a) Press the [SUB] button.

b) Select the required subtitle language with [ ] / [ ] button and press the [OK] button. (Figure 8.1

show).

c) The subtitle will be displayed in the selected language.

d) In the subtitle off the menu choices are not shown subtitles.

e) Repeat pressing the [OK] / [Return] button to hide the subtitles.

9. Display

Remark

You can set the language for Menu/Video/Audio/other, Default language is English.

Pressing the [MENU] button to enter the main menu.

Pressing the [Display] button to select Display preferences setting.

9.1 Language Setting

a) Press the [Language] button to select

Language setting. (Figure 9.1 show)

b) Press the [ ] or [ ] button to display the

available Language List. (Figure 9.2 show)

c) Press the[ ] or [ ] button that language

choice needs, use the [OK] button to confirm

and press the [Return] button to exit.

9.2 Screen Control

a) Press the [Screen] button to select Screen.

b) Press the button to select ,then you can change Screen Ratio/Display format, press

the [OK] button to confirm, press the [Return]

button to exit. (Figure 9.3 show)

10. System

Remarks

a) You can set the Country, check the Version and Reset Default..

b) Pressing the [MENU] button to enter the main menu.

c) Pressing the [System] button to select Display system setting.

10.1 Country Setting

You can set the country for Menu. Default country is England.

1. Enter to the system menu.

2. Press the [Country] button to display the

available Country List. (Figure 10.1show)

3. Select your desired country using the [ ] / [

] button, and press the [OK] button to confirm

(Figure 10.2show)

10.2 Version

a) Enter to the system menu.

b) Press the [Version] button to select system

version menu; The screen will display the

current system status (Figure 10.3 show)

c) Press the [Return] button to return.

10.3 Reset Default

1. Enter to the system menu.

2. Press [Reset Default] button to select reset default.

3. Press the [OK] button to confirm. Select [OK] to restore all setting to Factory Default. Select

[Return] to return to System. (Figure 10.4 show)

4. Reset default menu of restore all setting to Factory Default, please note you to restore a time default all data to be able to delete, for example: Channel, menu, installation and so on.

12. Trouble Shooting

If the product does not work normally after completing the following trouble shooting, please contact your local product distributor or service centre.

Error message

No or bad signal

The channel is scrambled or not available.

The channel is scrambled.

The audio is not available.

Possible causes

The aerial is not pointing properly.

What to do

Adjust aerial.

Check the cable from the aerial. If you cannot resolve the problem you may need to have your aerial and installation tested by a professional.

The channel has signal, but no audio or video.

The channel is not deleted by broadcasting company.

Confirm if the channel is currently on air.

The channel is for data broadcasting.

Cannot watch the channel in usual way.

This digital terrestrial receiver does not support the service that enables to descramble the scrambled channels.

The channel has signal, but no Audio.

Press the RED button to confirm if the channel has Audio.

The antenna cable is short-circuited.

Antenna cable is shorten.

Antenna is internally shorten.

Antenna in port is inserted by alien substance or damaged.

Replace antenna.

Remove the alien substance and contact local service center if it is damaged.

1. Before Starting

1. This set is exclusively for use in cars with a negative ground 12V power supply.

2. Read these instructions carefully.

3. Be sure to disconnect the battery “-” terminal before starting.

This is to prevent short circuits during installation. (Figure 1)

3. General Cautions

1. Do not open the case. There are no user- serviceable parts inside. If you drop anything into the unit during installation, consult your dealer or an authorized Clarion service center.

2. Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the case. Never use a rough cloth, thinner, benzine, or alcohol etc. For tough dirt, apply a little cold or warm water to a soft cloth and wipe off the dirt gently.

4. Cautions on Installation

1. Prepare all articles necessary for installing the source unit before starting.

2. If you have to do any work on the car body, such as drilling holes, consult your car dealer before hand.

3. Use the enclosed screws for installation. Using other screws can cause damage.

5. Cautions on Wiring

1. Be sure to turn the power off before wiring.

2. Be particularly careful where you route the wires.

Keep them well away from the engine, and exhaust pipe, etc. Heat may damage the wires.

3. If the fuse should blow, check to see if the wiring is correct.

If a fuse is blown, replace it with a new one of the same amperage rating as the original ( 3A FUSE).

4. To replace the fuse, remove the old fuse on the back of the unit and insert the new one. ( Figure2 )

Note:

There are various types of fuse holder. Do not let the battery side touch other metal parts.

CAUTION

After the connection, fix the cord by a clamp or insulation tape for protection.

Note:

DTX502E can connect with main unit through extension cable or RCA cable;

When connect DTX502E by RCA cable, the touch screen operation is invalid. You can only operation the DTX502E by remote control.

When connect DTX502E by extension cable, you can operate DTX502E on the touch panel control of main unit.

Warning

Installation should follow the traffic regulation each country .

Do not install the antenna in a place where it may interfere with the operation of the airbag or hinder the driver’s visual range.

Install the antenna inside car.

Do not use the DTX502E with antenna cord cut off.

The power cables in the cord may be short -circuited.

Notes:

1. Wipe off the dirt of the mounting surface before installing the antenna

2. Post Scotch tape to Separator of Element sector as drawing so that peal off easily after installing

3. Stick Amplifier section

a. Wipe well the posting area on windshield before sticking

c. Stick amplifier section well on post position on windshield.

4. Fitting antenna cable

Wire the cable with cord holder.

Wire the cable with holding amplifier section in order to reduce tention there.

Wire the cable to ensure the front pillar not to bite the cable.
