PX5000 - IPDU
The PX-5000 series of high-quality rack power distribution units (PDUs) offers real-time remote unit-level and individual outlet-level
switching and power monitoring of current (amps), voltage, power (kVA, kW), power factor and energy consumption (kWh) with ISO/
IEC +/- 1% billing-grade accuracy. The PX-5000 also supports plug-and-play environmental sensors. Users can define thresholds
and receive alerts when thresholds are crossed for both power and environmental events.
The PX-5000 series is available in Zero U (vertical mount) and 1U and 2U (horizontal mount) form factors with a wide variety of NEMA,
IEC and other plugs and receptacles, including models that support high power distribution such as 400V. Precise power information
can be monitored, and the PX-5000 configured, via a user-friendly Web browser GUI or command line interface. Power information
is also displayed at the PDU locally. Security is ensured with up to 256-bit encryption, strong passwords and advanced authorization
options, including permissions, LDAP/S and Active Directory®. Plus the PX-5000 series is fully compatible with Power IQ energy
management software solutions.

Environment sensors
Environment sensors are deployed as plug-and-play options for PX intelligent rack PDUs, EMX rack controllers, PX inline meters
and branch circuit monitors eliminating the need for a separate controller. Environment data is instantly sent to DCIM software. A
simple web-based interface allows data center managers to see real-time environment data and report trends over time. Environment
sensors enable data center managers to:

Fail Safe Transfer Switch
The Fail-Safe Transfer Switch (FSTS) features two input power feeds, from separate AC circuits, to supply single-power supply
equipment with dual, redundant power sources. A primary AC circuit provides power to the connected device(s). If that primary power
sources becomes unavailable for whatever reason, then the FSTS auto-switches to the secondary power source to support the
connected equipment. The transfer from one power source to the other is seamless to the connected equipment. When the secondary
power source is available, an interruption of the primary power source will not affect the equipment’s uptime or performance. Unique
to the FSTS is the ability to designate which power source is primary and which is secondary. With the Primary Select switch, a
power engineer simply toggles the switch from primary to secondary, which transfers the load from one power feed to the other. Now,
the “secondary” becomes “primary” and the power engineer can safely work on the first power source without dropping power to
the connected equipment. Also exclusive to the FSTS is the ability to select the high voltage (208-230V) or low voltage (110-120V)
operating range of the AC power source. Use the FSTS as a universal power transfer switch for all cabinets and servers, regardless
of the voltage. Before applying power for the first time, just remove a panel and then choose the appropriate voltage range.
