USER’S GUIDE
HIGH GAIN BOOST
We’d like to thank you for making the Seymour Duncan Killing Floor High Gain Boost a part of your tone
quest.
The Killing Floor gives you both a volume boost and a musical, amp-like overdrive all in one, with an
unmistakably bluesy feel. Use it to increase your overall output for solos, to push an amp further into overdrive
or for a beefy, expressive solo voice. It’s also great as an “always on” pedal for adding the finishing touch to
your tone. The single control knob gives you up to 34 dB of additional gain for amazing range, from subtle
boost to brash chords to a full, fat overdriven lead. The 3-way Voicing toggle switch lets you sculpt your high
end with a boost at 10K, a cut at 4.8K or a flat setting. Use this switch to take the bite out of overly bright
single coils, put more sting into a dark humbucker or to add crystal clear, boutique-style airiness to your tone.
HOW IT WORKS
1
Gain – This control dials in the amount of boost and gain, from 0dB for use as a tone shaper, to 34dB for
high gain.
2
Voicing Switch – Selects between High Boost, High Cut or Flat modes for tailoring your tone.
3
Status LED – Indicates when the Killing Floor is active. LED is on when the unit is engaged, off when in true
bypass mode.
4
True Bypass Footswitch – Activates the pedal. When the pedal is off, the circuit from your guitar’s
signal runs via a hardwired connection from the input jack to the output jack for true bypass operation.
5
Input Jack – Connect your guitar or other pedal cable here.
6
Output Jack - Run cable to amp input or to next effect pedal.
7
Power Jack – You can use any 9V -18V regulated DC adapter
(negative polarity center terminal).

LET’S GET STARTED!
1. Plug in any regulated 9V - 18V power supply with a negative polarity center terminal.
2. Run good quality, unbalanced, shielded guitar cables from your guitar to the input jack and from output
jack or jacks to your amp’s input or to the next pedal on your pedalboard.
3. Dialing in your sound:
Start with the Gain at zero and the Voicing switch set to Flat. Gradually increase the gain to the desired
volume then experiment with the Voicing switch to add or subtract high end as required.

Push a clean amp into a fat overdrive with an aggressive growl for solos. This
setting is still very touch-sensitive, so don’t be afraid to back off your guitar’s
volume knob or vary your picking attack for different expressive effects.

Use this setting for a chewy distorted sound you can leave on as part of your
core tone. It’s especially great for power chords and octaves. You may want to
enable the high cut depending on the brightness of your instrument.

Enhances the character of your guitar by adding presence, punch and sparkle
without pushing too far into overdrive. This setting works equally well as a gain

Take a classic rock rhythm tone and push it into 80s metal territory. If you’re
using humbuckers, try adding the high boost for extra clarity.
