Quick Reference Guide

This quick reference guide explains the basic function settings and how to shoot and play back images.

You can take this guide with you when shooting. For detailed instructions, refer to the EOS 760D (W)

Instruction Manual.

White index Red index Attach the lens.

Align the lens’s white or red mount index with the camera’s mount index of the same color.

2. Press the <Y> <Z> keys to select a tab, then press the

<W> <X> keys to select the desired item.

Focus on the subject.

Aim the viewfinder center over the subject and press the shutter button halfway to autofocus.

Take the picture.

Press the shutter button completely to take the picture.

Review the picture.

The captured image will be displayed for 2 sec. on the

LCD monitor.

o The J on the right of the function indicates that the function is available only in Creative Zone modes.

o Number of Possible Shots (Viewfinder Shooting)

Using the Built-in Flash

Basic Zone Modes

If necessary, the built-in flash will be automatically raised and fired in low-light or backlit conditions (with certain shooting modes).

Creative Zone Modes o Press the <D> button to raise the built-in flash, then shoot.

You can change the camera settings as desired to shoot in various ways.

* Set the <R> switch (Multi function lock released) to the left.

: Program AE

o Set the Mode Dial to <d>.

o The camera automatically sets the shutter speed and aperture in the same way as the <A> mode.

: Shutter-priority AE

o Set the Mode Dial to <s>.

o Turn the <6> dial to set the desired shutter speed, then focus on the subject.

X The aperture will be set automatically.

o If the aperture display blinks, turn the <6> dial until it stops blinking.

: Aperture-priority AE

o Set the Mode Dial to <f>.

o Turn the <6> dial to set the desired aperture, then focus on the subject.

X The shutter speed will be set automatically.

o If the shutter speed display blinks, turn the <6> dial until it stops blinking.

Drive Mode

o Press the <g> button, turn the <6> or <5> dial.

o When “A” is selected, the ISO speed is set automatically.

When you press the shutter button halfway, the ISO speed setting is displayed.

o Press the <YQi> button, press the <Y> <Z> keys to select the drive mode, then press <0>.

o Press the <S> or <B> button.

o You can shift the AF point horizontally by turning the <6> dial, and vertically by turning the <5> dial. If you press <0> straight down, the center AF point (or center zone) will be selected.

AF Area Selection ModeK

o Press the <S> or <B> button.

o Look through the viewfinder and press the <B> button.

X Each time you press the <B> button, the AF area selection mode changes.

Live View Shooting

o Press the <A> button to display the Live View image.

o Press the shutter button halfway to focus, then press it completely to take the picture.

Movie Shooting (Autoexposure)

o Set the power switch to <k>.

X Set the Mode Dial to any shooting mode except <a>.

Recording movie o Press the <A> button to start shooting a movie.

o To stop movie shooting, press the <A> button again.

Built-in microphones o When the shooting mode is <a>, you can shoot movies with manual exposure.

o You can set movie shooting settings with the menu options under the [Z 1] or [Z2] tab.
