Panasonic recommends Windows 8 Pro. CONNELLS GROUP CONNELLS SURVEYORS ARMED WITH PANASONIC TOUGHBOOK TABLETS TO IMPROVE MORTGAGE VALUATIONS www.toughbook.eu Panasonic recommends Windows 8 Pro. "Some of our more experienced surveyors were hesitant regarding the change to tablets, however now they love it and wouldn't be without it." Since 1996, Connells Survey & Valuation has been at the forefront of delivering the complete service solution for valuation panel management, chartered surveying and risk management solutions. The company works with a diverse client base including the leading residential lenders, house builders, asset managers and housing associations. Connells provide nationwide coverage through a large team of 220 inhouse surveyors and other specialist surveying partner firms. When Connells Group was looking to arm its surveyors nationwide with technology to improve the efficiency and quality of its mortgage valuation service, the IT management team turned to Panasonic Toughbook and Landmark Quest, a leading provider of mobile solutions and bespoke software for lenders and surveyors. The business required a rugged mobile device that its surveyors could use both inside and outside, that was ergonomically designed and had the communication technology to transmit large amounts of data back to the office. Alongside, the hardware, Connells also required specialist data capture software for its mortgage valuation service. After a thorough evaluation project, the company chose The Panasonic Toughbook CF-H2 rugged tablet and Landmark Quest's Q-Mobile intelligent property data capture solution. Phase one of a structured roll-out programme has now taken place to provide 230 residential surveyors with the mobile solution to improve report validation, efficiency and quality. Anthony Glasgow, Group IT Director of Connells said: "The business case for adopting Q-Mobile and Panasonic Toughbook for our mortgage valuations is to dramatically reduce paper-based, manual reporting. This will not only improve the overall quality and efficiency of the reports, but provides new layers of validation and enhanced data security. We initially planned to roll-out to 180 of our residential surveyors, however as the market is picking-up, we have already extended this to 230 so we are well placed to manage increases in demand." Q-Mobile, used in conjunction with Panasonic's Toughbook mobile devices, improves workflow, standardizes site notes and creates efficiencies for Connells' surveyors whilst they are onsite, as they can now access supporting data for each valuation report, such as neighbouring property comparables. In addition, the move to electronic reporting has removed the need for hard-copy report storage and archiving, which long-term will account for significant financial savings. Moreover, it provides a seamless process from the receipt of a valuation instruction, scheduling the appointment, undertaking the inspection and research and finally to the transmission of the valuation to the client. Jeff Smith, Technical Director from Connell's Survey & Valuation business is leading the training with the frontline team. Confirms Jeff, "Already, the turnaround time for valuation reporting is improving, as the report is completed on site. Previously the written valuation would be dictated over the phone and a typed report would subsequently be returned for sign-off.
