Programming your remote control
There are three ways to program your remote control:

Step 4
After entering the correct code corresponding to your device and
after it turns off, press the “POWER” button to turn the device
back on again. Then, press the “VOL +”, “VOL -“, and “MUTE”
buttons for the TV mode button (or “PLAY” and “STOP” for the
DVD mode button) in order to make sure they function properly.
If any of the buttons don’t work, repeat step 3 by using the 3-digit
code in the code list until you find the best code for your device.
Using a pre-programmed 3-digit code
Automatic search method
Teaching method
Programming your remote control using the pre-programmed
3-digit code allows you to configure all the buttons at the same
time simply by entering the device’s 3-digit manufacture code.
These codes are included as an Appendix to this manual, select
the one that corresponds to the remote control you have.
Step 5
When you find the code corresponding to your device, save it by
pressing the “MODE” button that is lit up. It should blink twice to
confirm that the code has been properly saved.
Repeat steps 1 to 5 for each of your devices.
The automatic search function provides all the codes included
in the remote control, one at a time.
The teaching method allows you to “teach” a function from
another remote control to your remote control, one button at
a time.
B. AUTOMATIC SEARCH METHOD
Step 1
Turn on the device you want to pair with your remote.
IMPORTANT NOTE
For all the following methods, when you are in programming
mode, the “MODE” button corresponding to the device (AUX,
DVD, AUD, TV, STB) you want to pair with your remote will light
up for 30 seconds. If you don’t press a button within this delay,
this light will automatically turn off. You will exit programming
mode and you will have to start over.
Step 2
Simultaneously press the “MODE” button corresponding to the
device (AUX, DVD, AUD, TV, or STB) you want to pair with your
remote and the “OK/SEL” button for 3 seconds. The mode button
selected will light up for 30 seconds indicating that the remote
control is ready to be programmed.
A. USING A PRE-PROGRAMMED 3-DIGIT CODE
Step 3
Point the remote control at the device you want to pair with your
remote and press the “CH +” or “CH -” once your device turns off.
Step 1
Turn on the device you want to pair your remote with.
Step 4
Make sure all the buttons function properly (similar to method
A). If some of the buttons do not function properly, repeat step 3
by using the “CH +” or “CH -” in order to find the right code.
Step 2
Simultaneously press the “MODE” button corresponding to
the device (AUX, DVD, AUD, TV, or STB) and the “OK/SEL” button
for 3 seconds. The light of the mode button selected will light
up for 30 seconds indicating that the remote control is ready
to be programmed.
Step 5
When you find the code corresponding to your device, save it by
pressing the “MODE” button that is lit up. It should blink twice in
order to confirm that the code has been properly saved.
Step 3
Point the remote control at the device you want to pair your
remote with and enter the device’s 3-digit manufacturer code.
Note that the device will turn off if you have entered the
correct code.

D. Deleting a “learned” function
Step 1
Simultaneously press and hold the “MODE” button
corresponding to the device and the “ASPECT” button for 3
seconds. The light on the mode button selected will turn on,
indicating that the remote control is ready to be programmed.
Step 1
Simultaneously press and hold the “MODE” button corresponding
to the device and the “ASPECT” button for 3 seconds. The light on
the selected mode button will turn on, indicating that the remote
control is ready to be programmed.
Step 2
Align the UR5L remote control with the remote control of the
device. You must place them about 2 to 4 cm (1 to 2 inches) apart.
Step 2
Press and hold the button that contains the function you want to
delete for 3 seconds. The mode button selected in step 1 will blink
twice to confirm the deletion.
Step 3
Press any button on the UR5L remote control that you want to
“teach” a function. For instance, if you want to program the
“Mute” button, press the “Mute” button on the UR5L remote
control.
Step 3
To exit “Unlearn” mode, press and hold the “MODE” button that
is lit up and the “ASPECT” button simultaneously until the mode
button blinks three times.
Step 4
Press and release the button you want to program on the
device’s remote control until the “MODE” button on the UR5L
remote control from step 1 blinks twice. Press and release the
“Mute” button on the device’s remote control until the TV mode
on the UR5L remote control blinks twice.
E. Deleting all the “learned” functions for a “MODE” button
Step 1
Simultaneously press and hold the “MODE” button
corresponding to the device and the “ASPECT” button for 3
seconds. The light on the mode button selected will turn on,
indicating that the remote control is ready to be programmed.
Note
The “MODE” button will blink 5 times if a mistake has been made
during this process. If this is the case, repeat steps 3 and 4. You
can continue teaching the remote by repeating steps 3 and 4 with
other buttons.
Step 2
Press and hold the “MODE” button selected in step 1 and the
“Pause” button for 5 seconds. The “MODE” button will blink
twice to confirm the deletion.
Step 5
Once the process is complete for all the functions you want for
the “MODE” button, save the functions the remote has learned
by pressing the “MODE” button which is lit up and the “ASPECT”
button until the “MODE” button blinks 3 times. You can now test
the buttons to make sure the remote control has been correctly
programmed.
Step 3
To exit “Unlearn” mode, press and hold the “MODE” button
that is lit up and the “ASPECT” button simultaneously until the
“MODE” button blinks three times.

H. How to program the “SYSTEM ON/OFF” button
If you’ve used the automatic search function for programming a
device and you do not have its 3-digit code, follow this guide to
identify the code. You can take note of it and use it to reprogram
the remote in the future.
This method allows you to program the “System ON/OFF” button
so it transmits a series of “Power” signals with the simple touch
of a button. This allows you consecutively to turn on and off up to
5 devices.
Step 1
Simultaneously press and hold the “MODE” button
corresponding to your device and the “OK/SEL” button for 3
seconds. The light on the mode button selected will turn on,
indicating that the remote control is ready to be programmed.
Step 1
Press the “STB” button.
Step 2
Simultaneously press the “System ON/OFF” button and the “OK/
SEL” button for 3 seconds. The light on the “STB” button will
turn on for 3 seconds.
Step 2
Press the “INFO” button and count the number of times the
“MODE” button from step 1 blinks. This number is the first digit
of the 3-digit code. A second and third set of blinks will follow,
indicating the second and third digits of the code. This series of
numbers will be separated by 1 second of inactivity.
Step 3
Press the button of the 1st device you want to insert in the
sequence of the “System ON/OFF” button and then press the
“Power” button. Repeat this step until all the devices you want
paired with the remote are entered into the “System ON/OFF”
sequence.
Note:
10 blinks represent 0. For instance, 1 blink, pause, 8 blinks, pause,
and 3 blinks mean the code is 183.
Step 4
Press the “CH +” button to save your programmed sequence.
The “MODE STB” button will blink twice to confirm that it
has been saved.
G: AUX Function: Programming a 5th device
The AUX function is very practical when you want to pair a 5th
device with your remote such as a second television screen, DVD
player, or audio device.
I. Programming the channel buttons
You can program the channel buttons (CH+, CH-, Last and digits)
to control a device using the mode button corresponding to
another device. The default configuration of the channel buttons
on your remote control is the following:
Step 1
Turn on the 5th device that you want to pair with your remote.
Step 2
Simultaneously press the “MODE AUX” button and the “OK/SEL”
button for 3 seconds. The light on the “AUX” button will turn on
for 30 seconds, indicating that the remote control is ready to be
programmed.
STB: STB
TV: TV
VCR: STB
DVD: DVD
AUX: AUX
If you want your remote to control the television channels when
it is in TV mode, follow these steps:
Step 3
Press the “MODE” button corresponding to the device you want
to pair with your remote. Point the remote control at the device
and enter its 3-digit manufacturer code.
Step 1
Simultaneously press the “MODE TV” button and the “OK/SEL”
button for 3 seconds. The light on the “MODE TV” button will
turn on for 30 seconds.
Step 4
Check that the different buttons on the remote are working
properly (as when using the 3-digit code in method A, step 4). If any
of the buttons do not function properly, you must try another code.
Step 2
Press the “VOL -” button
Step 3
Press the “MODE TV” button again. The “MODE TV” button will
blink twice to confirm it has been programmed.
Step 5
When you find the code corresponding to your device, save it by
pressing the “AUX” button that is lit up. It should blink twice in
order to confirm that the code has been properly saved.

How to program your remote control
J. Programming the volume buttons
Step 3
Enter the 2, 3, or 4 digits corresponding to the channel you want
to pair with first (for example: 007) by using the numbered
buttons. Press the “STOP” button. Repeat this process for the
2nd and 3rd channels. The “STB” will blink once for each channel
entered.
The volume (VOL+, VOL-, and Mute) has been programmed by
default to work with the “MODE” button in the following ways:
STB: STB
TV: TV
VCR: STB
DVD: DVD
AUX: AUX
However, you can program your remote to control the volume of
another device that corresponds to one of the “MODE” buttons.
If you want to control your TV’s volume using your remote
control’s “MODE STB” button, follow these steps:
Step 4
Press the “CH +” button to save your programmed sequence. The
“MODE STB” button will blink twice to confirm that it has been
saved.
Step 1
Simultaneously press the “MODE STB” button and the “OK/SEL”
button for 3 seconds. The light on the “MODE STB” button will
turn on for 30 seconds.
To access the channels you’ve paired with the macro buttons,
press a macro button once. You’ll quickly tune in to the 1st
channel. Press a second time to tune in to the 2nd channel, and a
third time to tune in to the 3rd channel.
Step 2
Press the “VOL +” button
L. Restoring your remote control’s default settings
Step 3
Press the “MODE TV” button. The light on the “MODE”
button from step 1 (STB) will blink twice to confirm it has been
programmed.
One single step
Press the “MODE STB” and the “REC” buttons for 5 seconds until
the 5 “MODE” buttons blink 3 consecutive times. This will restore
your remote’s default settings and erase its memory.
If you want to control the volume with the “MODE STB” button
while in “MODE TV”, repeat the previous steps but press the
“STB” button in step 3.
K. Programming a “macro” button
The “M1”, “M2”, and “M3” macro buttons are designed to be
programmed, for instance, to rapidly select the channel that you
prefer in “MODE STB”. This will allow you to program up to 5
channels with 2 digits, 4 channels with 3 digits, or 3 channels with
4 digits. You can use one single button to quickly tune in to any of
these channels.
Step 1
Press the “MODE STB” button to select “MODE STB”.
Step 2
Simultaneously press the “M1”, “M2”, or “M3” macro button
you want to pair with your favourite channel and the “OK/SEL”
button for 3 seconds. The “MODE STB” button will light up for 30
seconds.
