Instructions for connecting an audio line output to an IPod, iPad
or iPhone
In order to connect a audio device through a line output to an iPod, iPhone or iPad for recording
purposes you will need the following cables:
CON01ADP (Conversor Adapter cable) – this is a 3.5mm 4-pin jack connector cable with a grey
microphone socket and a black headset socket. Enables you to connect a microphone directly to
the iOS device.
CON01IJS – this is a 3.5mm stereo jack plug to 3.5mm stereo jack socket which connects the audio
device to the adapter cable. This cable is attenuated and ensures the correct amount of signal
reaches the iOS device microphone socket.
Instructions for use
Before starting turn down the volume of the audio device. Plug the 3.5mm plug from CONO1IJS
into the Conversor adapter cable first, then plug the Conversor adapter cable into the iOS device
using the 4-pin plug. This will then switch off the iOS on board microphone. Then plug audio device
connector into the silver socket on CON01IJS. Adjust the volume on the audio device and the iOS
device to give a good signal strength and then start recording.
