Integrated cd audio player
eGo
phase 4
Integrated cd audio player
While most of cd players of the same grade are built on tray loader mechanisms or computer cd-rom
drives, eGo phase 4 features a true "top loading" concept. To achieve this performance, the designers
have installed a renowned read out system from Philips on a 4 mm thick aluminum platform. As with
the finest analogue turntables, this assembling is mounted on a sub-chassis thanks to a three-pointsuspension. The whole mechanism is superbly finished with a special coating improving attenuation of
resonances.

Of course, electronics meets very high level requirements too. The digital-analog section is built on a
24 bit / 96KHz converter designed by Burr Brown. The Delta Sigma modulator is based on a 5-level
amplitude quantizer and a 3rd-order noise shaper. This advanced topology has the advantage of
stability and clock jitter over the typical one-bit solution. With an internal 8x interpolating filter,
measurements and sonic performances are unusual at this point. The analog section includes a lowphase-shift filter and the output amplifier. As a natural transcription of sound needs a perfect control
of the harmonic spectrum of the signal, a topology using JFETs and bipolar transistors operating in
Class A is preferred. Energy is provided by an oversized tor oidal transformer. In order to avoid
interference between each section, the power supply includes several series-regulators with
independent filtering cells. Thanks to the famous " One Touch Control " concept, eGo phase 4 features
an attractive timeless ergonomic design. Finally, with a sound which could be almost qualified as
"analog sound", eGo phase 4 offers an exceptional ratio performance / price. eGo phase 4 is
dedicated to music lovers who are looking for high grade compact solution.

The D/A section offers high
accuracy and a very short
signal path.
Output amplifiers use JFETs and
bipolar transistors operating in

with the unique OTC button
and universalis-series remote
control handsets.
The topology of eGo phase4 is
based on unique layouts and a
clever use of SMD technology.
Only high grade and renowned
components are used.
The "top loading" concept
