AF 50I
50 Watt IP-Amplifier AF 50I
Series AF 50 provides a particularly high output range and
various loudspeaker outputs. Amplifiers of this series are
universally suitable for any size of application up to complex
public address and Intercom solutions. The devices are specifically optimised for installation either in a 19-inch rack or
on-site. This added flexibility helps to save on cabling and
the resulting costs.
1. AF 50I
50 watt IP-amplifier with housing made of polycarbonate for
connection to an Intercom Server. Output power 1 x 50 watt
at 4 Ω loudspeaker or 2 x 25 watt at 8 Ω loudspeakers or 50
watt at the loudspeaker output 70 V / 100 V.
The range of application environments is suitably flexible
as well, serving the public address needs in areas from
public service facilities (e.g. railway stations) to auditoriums
or waiting rooms, and covering the Intercom requirements
of noisy industrial facilities, garages, tunnels or office
buildings.
2. L-AF-LM (not pictured)
Licence to activate speaker line monitoring for the 50 Watt IPand digital amplifiers.

MOUNTING
The volume control is carried out via the potentiometer “Volume”
and via CCT 800 at “Subscriber > Audio - Features”.
For speaker line monitoring at the 70 V / 100 V loudspeaker output, the potentiometer “Volume” has to be set to the maximum
position.
It is possible to mount the amplifier via Wall- / Tablemountkit or
Rackmountkit:
Wallmountkit PF-WM (not in extent of supply)
→ Mounting see Short Reference PF-WM
Rackmountkit PF-RM (not in extent of supply)
Single or double mount in a 19“ Rack

Speaker line monitoring
FUNCTIONALITY
With the function speaker line monitoring, it is possible to detect following errors at the 70 V / 100 V loudspeaker output:
• Short-circuit (impedance < 100 Ω at 100 V, or < 50 Ω at 70 V)
Attention: The loop resistance for the loudspeaker cable must be lower than 100 Ω, so that a short-circuit can be detected.
• Short-circuit to ground (impedance to ground < 50 kΩ)
• Disconnection (impedance > 10 kΩ at 100 V, or > 5 kΩ at 70 V)
• Impedance changing (+/- 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50%)
The speaker line monitoring is based on an impedance measurement with adjustable tolerance values of +/- 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and
50%. These values obviate against errors, depending on temperature value changing, deterioration and so on.
During the impedance measurement a pilot signal (67 Hz, 23 dB) is put out. The measurement is also carried out during audio output. An
error is displayed within the first 100 seconds after the fault.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Hardware
• Amplifier AF 50D or AF 50I min. Rev. “AB”
• The amplifier must be grounded at the desired screw terminal.
Software
• Configuration software min. CCT 800 1.3 Serie
• Intercom Server Software min. PRO 800 1.3 Serie
• Licence L-AF-LM
Attention:
• Speaker line monitoring is not possible with the Intercom Server GE 700-UPG!
CONFIGURATION
Attention: For the configuration of the speaker line monitoring an active connection between CCT 800 and amplifier is required!
Station Properties > AF 50 > tab Line Monitoring
• The check-box Line Monitoring must be set active to start the configuration.
• In the combo-box Line the used line type has to be selected (70 V or 100 V).
• In combo-box Tolerance a tolerance value for measurement has to be configured. Within this tolerance an error is not indicated. The
tolerance value 30% is recommended.
• With click on Measure ... the impedance of the speaker line is measured. The measurement is displayed in the filed “Impedance”.
• With click on Accept ... the current measured value is set as nominal value – the current nominal value is displayed in the filed “Impedance nominal value”.
• After the configuration, the CCT 800 file must be sent to the Intercom Server.
