RECENT CHANGES TO SEMINAR ROOM 1154
Seminar Room 1154 has recently completed its first stage of an upgrade. The recent
changes include:






New CD Player
New DVD Player
High Definition Scaling Presentation Switcher
New Projector
Automated Screen
Adjusted lighting
The final stages of this upgrade will be completed as soon as budgets and time are
made available. This will incorporate touch screen automation, a document
camera/visualiser to replace overhead projectors and an internal computer with internet
access, wireless keyboard and wireless mouse.
Until the automated system is installed, manual switching between devices is required.
Please see the operational instructions below:
How to play a CD:
1. Turn on the CD player
2. Turn the Extron presentation switcher on
3. Turn the amplifier on and make sure the AUX input is selected
4. Insert a CD into the CD player
5. Select CD on the presentation switchers remote or directly on the presentation
switcher
6. Operate the CD player via the CD player’s front panel.
7. Adjust the volume on the amplifier to suit
How to play a DVD:
1. Turn on the projector via the projector remote
2. Lower the screen via the switch next to the light switch
3. Turn on the DVD player
4. Turn the Extron presentation switcher on
5. Turn the amplifier on and make sure the AUX input is selected
6. Select DVD on the presentation switchers remote or directly on the presentation
switcher
7. Operate the DVD player via the DVD remote or the DVD player’s front panel.
8. Adjust the volume on the amplifier to suit

How to play a tape cassette:
1. Turn on the tape cassette player
2. Turn Extron presentation switcher on
3. Turn amplifier on and make sure the AUX input is selected
4. Select tape on the presentation switchers remote or directly on the presentation
switcher
5. Operate the tape cassette player via the tape cassette player’s front panel.
6. Adjust volume on the amplifier to suit
How to play a VHS:
1. Turn on the projector via the projector remote
2. Lower the screen via the switch next to the light switch
3. Turn on the VHS player
4. Turn the Extron presentation switcher on
5. Turn the amplifier on and make sure the AUX input is selected
6. Select VHS on the presentation switchers remote or directly on the presentation
switcher
7. Operate the VHS player via the VHS player’s front panel.
8. Adjust the volume on the amplifier to suit

How to patch a laptop into the system:
1. Turn on the projector via the projector remote
2. Lower the screen via the switch next to the light switch
3. Turn the Extron presentation switcher on
4. Turn the amplifier on and make sure the AUX input is selected
5. Patch your computer into the system via the provided cable loom
6. Set your computer to display out an external image with the house resolution of
1024 x 768
7. Select EXT PC on the presentation switchers remote or directly on the
presentation switcher
8. Adjust the volume on your PC to roughly 75% of total volume
9. Adjust the volume on the amplifier to suit
How to patch a visualiser/document camera into the system:
1. Turn on the projector via the projector remote
2. Lower the screen via the switch next to the light switch
3. Turn on the document camera
4. Turn the Extron presentation switcher on
5. Select DOC on the presentation switchers remote or directly on the presentation
switcher
6. Operate the visualiser/document camera.
