Download eBooks from the Yolo County Library OverDrive Digital
Media Collection onto your Kindle or Kindle Reading App.
What you need: Any generation Kindle device or Kindle Reading App, a
Library Card, and the Amazon account sign-in and password that your
Kindle is registered to. Also, library books require an active Wi-Fi
connection for delivering books to a Kindle device. Library books will
not be delivered via your Kindle's 3G connection. Note that Kindle 1st
Generation, Kindle 2nd Generation, and Kindle DX only have 3G
connection capabilities. If you're unable to connect your Kindle device
via Wi-Fi, you can instead load library books to your device via USB
Step 1: Turn your Kindle to Wi-Fi
Turn your Kindle on and set it to Wi-Fi by tapping Menu, Turn On
Wireless.
Step 2: Visit Yolo County Library Digital Media Collection on your
computer to browse, checkout and download books.
1. From your computer visit the Yolo County Library’s Digital Media
Collection http://yolocounty.lib.overdrive.com.
2. Click on My Account, type your library card number and click
login. Search by title, author or keyword or just browse. Titles
with the add to cart option are available; titles with the request
on item are checked out and can be requested for future use.
3. Choose any title, but it must say Kindle Book to use on Kindles
and free Kindle apps. Click on Add to Cart.
4. Items will remain in your cart for 60 minutes only. You can
check-out a total of 4 items. Select Continue Browsing to
checkout more titles or Proceed to Checkout. Adjust the lending
period for either 7, 14 or 21 days. Click Confirm Check Out. Then
click on Get For Kindle
6. Choose the device or app from the Deliver to menu, and
choose Get library book, then Download Now to send the
book to your device or reading app.
Step 3: Getting your eBook to your Kindle
Your Kindle will download your selected titles the next time it connects
to Wi-Fi.
Return eBooks and Manage your digital titles
1. Login to Amazon and go to Manage your Kindle
2. Click on Actions, Return this Book, Yes.

Yes. Three days before the end of the loan period, we will send a
courtesy reminder e-mail about the loan expiration. Once the loan
period has ended, an additional e-mail notification will be sent

You can view the status of a public library book for Kindle from the
Manage Your Kindle page. Click on the "+" symbol next to any title to
view more details about any book that you've borrowed including the
expiration date.
You can also access all of the materials that you currently have checked

At this time, public library books for Kindle are only available at U.S.
libraries.
