TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
ADVANCE 88 is a microprocessor control unit pre-arranged for the connection to voice-synthesis and digital telephone dialler.This
technologically avant-garde unit satisfies the latest international standards. It is the ideal control unit for medium sized systems,
with complete management by means of remote keypad, easy to program and user friendly.The state-of-the-art of the
communication system ASSC and RTC allows a really and complete integration among the security system, the protected
environment, the telephone connection and the end-user.The system has constituted from the control unit and from the at least
one keypad model A600 - A600 Plus (until to a maximum of 8 keypads) and could be completed with extension satellites (model
SAT03, 04,SATWS) with the telephone digital dialler (LOGICOM) and or GSM dialler (GSM Plus) and with the vocal module
(EUROSINT88). NOTE: The numbers proceeded from a “(+...)” between parenthesis, are referred to the outputs of the satellites or
characteristics of the control unit.

BALANCED ZONES
ADVANCE 88 has a basic configuration of ten balanced zones, with end of line resistor of 4,700 ohm.
This is the simplest configuration of the zones of the control unit.
The opening or the short-circuit of a zone, is giving an alarm signalling.
It is not possible, in this case, the detection of the tamper alarm, (using the same wires of the line), so that
the tamper must be connected to the dedicated TAMPER input (or using a zone programmed as TAMPER).
The colours of resistor R1 are:
R1 4.700ohm
1) Yellow Value: 4
2) Violet Value: 7
3) Red: Number of zeroes: 2
4) Gold: Tolerance: 5%.
The dedicated Tamper input is always balanced with a single end of line resistor
DOUBLE RESISTOR CONFIGURATION (zones with alarm tamper signalling)
This configuration allows receiving the zone alarm and the tamper alarm of each zone, using the same two
wires.
The lines programmed in this formality must be ended with two end of line resistors from 4,700 ohm. The first
resistor identifies the alarm of line, while the seconds the tampering.
Doing reference to the figure, open the contact, the control panel is detecting the alarm status, while the shortcircuiting or the cutting of the line is detected (also with the system disarmed) as tamper alarm.
The selection of the double resistor configuration can be done line by line (see Chapter 27).
The dedicated Tamper input is always balanced with a single end of line resistor

Example: connection of two detectors to two different zones using the two resistors configuration.
The opening of the contact n.c. ALARM, provokes an alarm status.
The opening of the contact n.c. TAMPER or a short-circuit, provokes the tamper alarm of the
corresponding zone.
The colours of resistor R1 are:R1 4.700ohm

DOUBLE ZONES
ADVANCE 88 allows to duplicate the number of the zones (from 10
to 20 zones), without the addition of external modules.
To obtain this, program the option “Double Lines” .
Selecting this modality, each single zone’ input is doubling in two
different zones:
Example: The zone input L1 will correspond now to the lines L1 and
L11. This concept is valid for the other zones, so that we will obtain
a sort of “twin” zones.
The 20 zones are, to all the effects, independent among them.
Summarize:
Programming Double Zones (No) you will obtain an installation
type “Balanced Zones” and “Lines with signaling of Tamper” (max
10 zones).
Programming Double Zones (Yes) you will obtain an installation
type “Zones with signaling of Tamper” and “Double Zones” (max 20 zones).
The Double Zones configuration requires a balancing with three end of line resistors, as shown in the figure.
End of line resistors:

In the Detector 1, when the contact is open (C-NC) in parallel to
resistor R1, you will get an “Alarm Zone 1.”
In the Detector 11, when the contact is open (C-NC) in parallel to
the resistor R2, you will get an “Alarm Zone 11.”
If they are open together, you will get two different alarm signalling.
The Tamper signalling can be independently activated for each of
the zones (1 to 10) and of the respective twin zones (11 to 20)
If the zone is short-circuited or open, you will get the signalling of
TAMPER alarm of the two zones (e.g. 1 and 11) if the “Tamper Signalling” has been programmed for each of these zones. Otherwise
you will obtain the Tamper alarm of the activated zone.
The use of the Double Zones, will increase the sensibility of detection of each single input.

KEYPADS
-
For the connection of the keypads must be respected the indications of the following
scheme, connecting the output of the serial BUS RS485 of the control unit, to the corresponding terminal blocks of the keypads.
- Different keypads can be connected, in parallel, on the same line (up to 8 keypads).
- The suggested section of the shielded cable is of 4x0.5mm.
- Total length of the RS 485 connection cable must be of (max) 600 meters (divided for
all the connected keypads).
- The positive supply of the serial BUS RS485 is protected from the fuse F1 (2A 250V).
Important Note
the back tamper against wall removal, is already connected and cannot be by-passed:
it is recommended, therefore, to pay attention inserting the spring that is pressing the
tamper button and close carefully the keypad.
During the first supply of the keypad the tamper button must be pressed, otherwise the
keypad is not initialized, giving a Tamper alarm signalling.
To exclude completely the tamper button, close bridge S-2 on the KEYPLUS board.
To esclude completely the tamper button, put in ON dip 5 on A600-A600 Plus board

The numeration of the keypads must be progressive.

In this case, for restore the operation, you must do:
a)
give the correct address to the keypads.
b)
remove and supply the power to all the keypads.
! Warning
In the control unit programming, you must program the number of the keypad(s)
installed.
Pressing simultaneously the keys (CLR) and (ESC) it is possible verify the correct address.

Enabling of Audio-communication on keypads (end-user)
To enable audio-communication on keypads, follow these steps:
- dial user code with attribution Master and enter menu 1 of the keypad you wish to enable
- scroll the programming steps until reaching “A600 setting”
- enter the menu and adjust “Audio Volume” on one of the possible settings (Mute - Low - Medium - High) by pushbutton CLR
Note: Mute de-activates any audio-communication of the keypad ( events and zone condition)
Enabling of Audio ZONES CONDITION of keypads (end-user)
To enable audio-communication ZONES CONDITION of keypads, follow these steps:
- dial user code with attribution Master and enter menu 1 of the keypad you wish to enable
- scroll the programming steps until reaching A600 settings
- enter the menu and set Audio Zones Condition on YES/NO by pushbutton CLR
Enabling audio EVENTS to the keypads ( installer)
To enable communication to keypads, follow these steps:
- set the telephone profile with Vocal Protocol
- set the telephone profile with Vocal A600 interface
- set Enable keypad events ; dial the number of the keypad, dial the number of te keypad to which you wish to send a virtual telephone call
e.g. set 1 to enable the call on keypad 1; set 137 for enabling the call on keypads 1, 3, 7;
set Þ to enable the call on all keypads
- the keypads will communicate all events associated to the telephone profile
Enabling of Audio ZONES CONDITION of keypads (installer)
To enable communication to the keypads follow these steps:
- set the telephone profile with Vocal protocol
- set the telephone profile with Vocal A600 interface
- set Enable Zones Condition Keypad; dial the number of the keypad to which you wish to send a virtual telephone call.
The keypads will communicate the opening of the inputs which are associated to the telephone profile (see example EVENTS)
Display Options and Rear-lighting (end-user)
It is possible to vary the contrast, the Led intensity and the rear-lighting . In order to vary these options, follow these steps:
- dial the user code with attribution Master and enter the menu 1 on the keypad you wish to enable
- scroll the proramming steps until reaching A600 setting
- enter the menu and scroll towards the bottom until reaching “Contrast Reduction - Led intensity reduction and Rear-lighting”
- Contrast reduction: setting YES, the display contrast is reduced
- Led intensity reduction: setting YES the keypad Led intensity is reduced
- Rear-lighting: (max 4) set the value (from 1 to 4) of rear-lighting intensity of display and keypad.
Interruption of vocal repetitions (end-user)
It is possible to cut down the cycle of vocal repetitions of the keypad
- dial pushbutton 3 on the keypad if you are in the user menu
- dial pushbutton 3 followed by ENT if you are outside the user menu
RTC enabling on A600Plus keypad
It is possible to activate the RTC directly on the A600Plus keypad with the same functions and use modes of RTC with telephone connection
Dial user code with attribution Master and press 7 (it has to be enabled in the “user profile”)
Follow the steps described in the user manual for RTC (page 23); press ESC to leave.

For the connection of the keypads must be respected the indications of the following scheme, connecting the output of the serial BUS RS485 of the control unit, to
the corresponding terminal blocks of the keypads.
- Different keypads can be connected, in parallel, on the same line (up to 8 keypads).
- The suggested section of the shielded cable is of
4x0.5mm.
- Total length of the RS 485 connection cable must be
of (max) 600 meters (divided for all the connected
keypads).
- The positive supply of the serial BUS RS485 is protected from the fuse F1 (2A 250V).
Important Note
the back tamper against wall removal, is already connected and cannot be
by-passed:
it is recommended, therefore, to pay attention inserting the spring that is
pressing the tamper button and close carefully the keypad.

Installation of the key
Further to keypad, the control panel can also be armed by an external actuator, by means of the zone inputs duly programmed
with arming in ON, HOME or AREA mode.

Program as “pulse” or “status” according to the management desired.
Zone Programming
Program a zone as Key ON: (arming ON), thus unbalancing this terminal by a negative for a few seconds “pulse management”
or keeping the unbalance “status”, the control panel will arm in ON mode and the zones programmed as “included in ON” will
be considered as active. The same is worth for the zone programmed as HOME Key: (HOME arming) and for the zone
programmed as AREA Key (AREA arming) .
If the option “double zones” is enabled, the twin zone of the one used to command an arming in any mode, must have
configuration as “not used”. On the contrary, to warn about wrong programming, the keypad shows “Error prog. #1”
“Pulse” Management
The pulse management allows to manage the control panel via both keypad or electronic key.

The above mentioned programming example is to be considered as an indication. Any input zone, with the exception of twin
zones (from L11 to L20) can become arming inputs.
Information about arming management
Control unit allows three different types of arming: ON, HOME and AREA. It is possible to arbitrarily associate any group of
zones to any kind of arming.
When control unit is armed in one of three possible modes, the zones associated to those modes will be active and will be
able to signal an alarm.
If control unit is armed by an external key, arming can be made in two different modes: impulsive mode or at state mode.
When it is armed by a keyboard, it always is in impulsive mode.
The fundamental difference between impulsive mode and at state mode, is the following:
•
impulsive mode, if the control unit has been armed by an external key, it can be disarmed by a keyboard and viceversa
•
at state mode, control unit cannot be disarmed by keyboard until an external key keeps it armed in at state mode.
Control unit gives a priority to arming modes where ON mode is the first one and HOME and AREA follow. This will cause the
latest higher-priority mode to be the final one
Example 1: control unit is armed in HOME mode by an external at state key. Later on, arming ON is given by
control unit. Control unit will go in ON. If it is then disarmed by keyboard, it will remain armed in HOME mode until
the external at state key disarms it completely.
Example 2: Control unit is armed in ON mode by an external at state key. Later on arming AREA is made by keyboard.
Control unit remains armed in ON mode. If it is then disarmed by at state key, it goes in AREA arming until completely
disarmed by keyboard.
Example 3: Control unit is armed by keyboard in any mode. Later on an impulsive key is used, in no matter mode.
Control unit is disarmed. The same would occur if the control unit was armed by an impulsive key and then
disarmed by a keyboard.

General Characteristics of keys (mod. EB3)/ serial readers (mod. RS)
Up to 64 keys TOUCH can be acquired and they will be associated to various User Codes
Any key acquires a User profile and as a consequence all enabling options.
Thanks to recognition of the reader where operating, and via correct programming, it is possible to make some partial arming,
some activations of open collectors or emergency calls.
The reader can operate in two working modes, single or immediate.
The two modes make activations in different way: in single mode various possible activations are proposed to the user, in
immediate mode the arming/disarming is directly operated according to the enabling of the user-key (Touch) which is
approached to the reader.
Installation of serial key EB3
EB3 serial key must be connected to terminals of serial line
RS485 normally used for connection of keyboards or satellites.

Mode of single command
In this mode, the peripheral can be associated to one or more areas and various possibilities of activation are proposed to the user.

How to proceed
a. both mains and battery supplying have to be taken off
b. insert proper plastic spacers into the holes on the right of the fixing base of the control unit board
c. insert the board of the GSM dialler by connecting the two connectors, respecting the fixing holes

This operation is necessary anytime a SIM recharge is made or at first activation, in order to have the panel
communicating the Sim Card Expiry.
It is recommended to set up the warning in advance compared to the expiry, in order to avoid a possible block by
the provider.
It is possible to visualize the remaining credit, the GSM signal level and to vary the SIM Card expiry, following the
procedure described in the User’s manual.

SINT88 characteristics
SINT88 is an optional board of vocal synthesis which must be connected to the control panel board
via 4 connectors (Can be used from version 6.0 and following ones)
The SINT88 model allows:
1.
to send 1 personalized message, followed by pre-recorded messages automatically
created by the control panel and showing the event to communicate to the programmed
numbers;
2.
DON’T ALLOWS to activate the RTC function (Remote Telephone Control); this function
allows to have access to a commuted telephone line or GSM by use of a DTMF device as
well as to the interrogation of the control panel status and remote management of the
panel itself; ONLY WITH EUROSINT88
The communication will activate when the events associated to the telephone number having the
protocol programmed as VOCAL, will occur.
Insertion of the circuit

Totally eliminate supplying to control panel

Insert in correct way the vocal synthesis board on the control panel, adjusting the 4 male connectors placed on
the lower side of the circuit with the female connectors placed on the circuit of the control panel; press softly until
complete insertion.
The control panel will communicate vocally all events associated to the telephone number in the menu “events association”
and the alarms of the single zones associated to the telephone number.
Recording and control of SINT88 – EUROSINT88 messages
In order to record the messages and to control them, use a normal BCA electronic telephone device
at low consumption, connected to the plug placed on the vocal synthesis circuit; check that the
device is in DTMF mode (MF)

Vocal messages
ADV 88 gives the possibility of sending specific vocal messages according to the events. These messages can be either
technical messages or alarm messages and/or inputs reset messages.
Technical messages: they re related to situations such as supplying problem, absence of telephone line or other. They are
automatically composed using the vocabulary of pre-recorded words shown in the Phonetics Chart; the introducing message
MESSAGGIO 1 (Phonetics Code 154) is ususally associated and placed before these messages. The introducing message
is used to record the address of the building where ADV 88 is installed and if the areas are activated, the message concerning
the belonging areas of the event.
These messages (Message 1 and Area) can be activated or not at the transmission, for any single profile of telephone
numbers.
Automatic Communication Zones
Alarm/Zone Reset Messages: they concern the opening or closing of the inputs
The communication of opening/closing of the inputs are usually automatically composed by ADVANCE 88 according to the
line set during SIA coding (e.g. Burglar line, gas line etc.) and to the zone number (1-88) and it is usually associated and
placed before the introducing message MESSAGGIO 1 (Phonetics code 154), and if the areas are activated, the message
concerning the belonging area of the event.
Personal Communication Zones
Should it be necessary to force the communication of ADVANCE 88, creating a different message, it is possible to use the
library of pre-recorded words and add the code of the word during steps “Vocal word 1-2-3-4” as shown in the chart “Phonetics

RTC function (Remote Telephone Check )
RTC function allows to make some operations with the control panel using a touch tone telephone (DTMF) connected to a
telephone line or using a mobile phone.
• Must be the optional connected board EUROSINT88;

Call the control panel sectors (partitions) using a touch tone phone.
After the programmed Num.Rings Answer for POTS call, or at the first ring in GSM, the control panel answers
automatically: “enter yuor code” or, only on GSM net, "GIVE COMMAND" if the procedure of recognition of the incoming
number is enabled
3. Digit slowly the RTC enabled User Code;

If an answering machine is connected on the telephone line, it is possible to bypass it.
a. Call the control panel and, after first ring hang up immediately.
b. Call again the installation after 10 to 20 seconds; the control panel will answer after 1 ring.
c. Digit slowly the User Code enabled to RTC
4. If the User Code is recognized, the control panel will communicate: Recognized User.
5. Now it is possible to activate some functions;
USER RTC with recognition of incoming number
This function allows the calling person to communicate directly with no need of dialling the User Code; this function is active
for calls
on GSM net only, so the GSM Plus is necessary. It only occurs if, during programming, the telephone number operating the
RTC has
been associated to an User enabled to RTC and to "Automatic RTC Validation"

Only the command #co# and #stato# provides the sending of an answer message, the others do not generate a reply (not

SOME NOTES CONCERNING SECTORS (PARTITIONS) AND ARMING MODES
Logitel 8 Plus ADVANCE includes the sectors (partitions) management.
With this control panel it is possible to create up to four (4) parted sectors (partitions) and one (1) common sector (partition) where
the zones, common to all sectors (partitions), will be included.
The common zones will be armed after the arming of all other sectors (partitions).
During the programming, we must set how many parted sectors (partitions) are existing in the installation.
The sectors (partitions) are usefull when a single control panel is shared for different installation, for normal application this
function is not used, and all zones will be associated to sector (partition) n°1.
Arming
Every sector (partition) could be armed in different arming modes. Example: sector (partition) n°1 could be armed in ON, and other
sectors (partitions) in HOME or AREA.
The common sector (partition), when all sectors (partitions) are armed, will be automatically armed in the lowest armed sector
(partition).
The control unit allows three arming modes: ON, HOME and AREA. To each type of arming it is possible the association of the
zones .
The arming of the unit from an external key can be of two different modes: PULSE or STABLE .
The arming from the unit’ keypad is always pulse.
The fundamental difference between the pulse and the stable modes are that in the first, if the control unit is armed from an
external key, the unit can be disarmed from the keypad and vice versa; in the second mode, the control unit armed from an external
key cannot be disarmed from the keypad and vice versa.
The control unit establishes a hierarchical order of the arming in which the ON mode is at the top level, followed from HOME and
AREA. This determines that if firstly there is an external arming and later take over an other of taller level, the control change to the
higher arming level.
Example 1: the control panel is armed in HOME mode from an external key (STABLE). Later is armed from keypad in ON. The
control unit is now armed in ON.
If then it is disarmed from the keypad, it is still pending the first external arming HOME.
Example 2: the control panel is armed in ON mode from an external key (STABLE). Later is armed from keypad in AREA. The
control unit remain armed in ON.
If then it is disarmed from the external command, it is still pending the second arming AREA.
Example 3: the control panel is armed in one mode from the keypad. Later can be armed/disarmed from an external command
if programmed in PULSE status.
Every zone must be associated to a sector (partition).
If one or more sectors (partitions) generate an alarm, the alarm outputs will active. For stopping the signalling it is enought to
disarm the sector (partition) where the zone is associated.
Every keypad must be associated to one or more sector (partition), this allows to keypads to visualise the events of its sectors
(partitions). The technical events are showed on every keypad.
The keypads associated to all sectors visualise the events of all sectors (partitions).
The common zones are visualised only when the last user will arm the last sector (partition), only this user, or an user associates
to every sector (partition), can by-pass and un by-pass the common zone.
The message “0 active zones” on keypad, exiting from installer menu, means that common zones are not associated to any
arming modality. To clear this message it is enough to digit the user code.
The message “0 active zone” on keypad, after an arming sector (partition), means that there are no active zones in that arming
modality.

A different pulse counter can be programmed for each
zone. A zone is just activating an alarm after a few detection
of this zone, equal to the value of the pulse counter of this
zone in a period programmed.The default value is one.

In this menu you can program the secondary functions of each zone.
Memo Alarm and Memo Restore: The alarm provoked from the opening
of the zones and the consequent closing can be registered on the memory
events of the control unit; Inserting “YES” the function will be activated
and vice versa.
Active Buzzer: The alarm provoked from the zones programmed with
“YES” will provoke the sound of the buzzer of the keypads; the sound
time must be programmed in the Timers Menu.
Chime: a detection on a zone(s) day mode (panel Disarmed). When the
panel is disarmed, the buzzer sounds on the keypad(s); to stop it, the
enabled USER CODE(s) must be entered.
Example: useful to control the EMERGENCY exits.
Door: When the panel is disarmed, and a door zone is open, the buzzer
sounds on the keypad display and stops in a time if the “door time”
Pre-alarm memory – the unbalancing of the inputs zones set as type of
zone with pre-alarm can be kept in the events memory of the control unit;
a YES will follow the setting of “Alarm memory” whilst a “NO” will not
keep the alarm in memory
Tamper detect: each zone can be programmed in the double resistor
configuration. This is meaning that it is possible to differentiate an alarm
and a tamper fault on the zone.
Under test zones: an alarm on a zone in test is only activating the
programmed open collector outputs and the dialler, NO sirens or relays
are activated. This event is stored in the memory, if the MEMO alarm for
this zone is programmed “YES”. The green LED on the keypad is flashing
to indicate that there are one or more zones in test.
Tamper exclude: programming “YES” when a zone is excluded, it’s
excluded also the tamper zone (Not available for Belgium)
Alarm Counter: with this function it is possible to limit the alarm sequences
for successive alarms on the same zone(s). If the successive alarms are
over passing the value programmed in the ALARM COUNTER, then:
• No new alarm cycles are starting.
• The alarm are counted and stored in the event memory as MULTI
ALARM.
• A new cycle of alarms on this zone is starting if there was an alarm
on another zone (it is recommended to install only one device for each
zone).
The range is 0 to 10:
• if “0”: alarm counter is NOT activated;
• if “1” to “10” : alarm counter is activated.
E.g. A detector fault will cause the maximum programmed alarm cycles
and the other alarms will be only stored as multi alarms.

Second profile

For any zone of the control unit it is possible to activate the secondary profiles
The zone acquires this profile if it has been activated to do it and it changes its programming according to setup of
secondary profile.
When the area is disarmed, the zone is always coupled to the basic profile.

It is the code that, once entered in the keypad, active a communication
with XS40 for direct reprogramming, or the downloading of the memory
events. the default number is: to set.
• Example: Comm. code for the reprogramming with XS40

Access Code
It is a code composed from 6 digits (memorized in the EEPROM of the
control unit); the default value is 000000.
In the Winrec software, must be memorized a Code of Access,
composed from 6 digits, for each Logitel 8 Plus Advance existing.
These two Access Codes (control panel and Winrec) allow activating
the Ring Back function for a remote reprogramming.
Programming Code
It is a code of 6 digits memorized in the EEPROM of the control panel; the
default code is 000000 (6 zeroes).
In the Winrec software, must be memorized a Programming Code,
composed from 6 digits, for each Logitel 8 Plus Advance existing.
These two Programming Codes (control panel and Winrec) allow the
transfer from the computer to the control unit Logitel8Plus Advance of
the configuration program; the transfer could be activated from the
Code of Communication entered in the keypad of the control panel or
from the function Ring Back.

Each USER CODE can be programmed to obtain different operations:
Active Code: with “YES” the code is active.
Profiles User: the code must be associate to one of 8 profiles, the profiles are the attributes
of the code.
Sector (partition) control: the code must be associated to sector (partition) 1, 2, 3, 4 and
the code could manage only in that sectors (partitions), or to more sectors if it is enabled
to operate in more sectors (partitions).

Master User
If the User is enabled to Master, the code will have priority on the keyboards, it will then

Double consent (on A600Plus reader only)
“SI” activates the possibility of dialling the code for 20 seconds, only after the key associated

The User Profiles are the attributes of each code, it manages the control panel
respecting the programming of the user profiles set for the code.
Arm in ON:
with “YES”, this code is enabled to arm in ON status.
Arm in HOME:
with “YES”, this code is enabled to arm in HOME status.
Arm in AREA:
with “YES”, this code is enabled to arm in AREA status.
Disarm panel:
with “YES”, this code is enabled to disarm the panel.
Immediate disarm: with “YES”, this code is enabled to disarm the panel without
using the key 5 after the code. (note: this function is valid only if the code is
enabled to disarm)
Disarming in Watch:
with “YES”, this code is enabled to disarm the panel even if previously automatically

In this menu it is possible to program the working of the
zones of external arming for a key board. Entering and
leaving this menu, we will have the disarming of all
pending arming.
Working mode of the key
At status: when an arming input is balanced by its
resistance, the control panel is disarmed; when the
resistance is opened or short-circuited, the control panel
will result to be armed. Example of arming addition: the
arming by keypad and the closing of the input arming
cause an addition of arming, resulting in the following: in
order to have the control panel back to the status of
disarmed, the arming terminal board must be open and
the keypad must be off.
ATTENTION when two arming add, the most important
one in the hierarchy prevails
Pulse Mode: the closing and following re-opening of an
arming input causes the arming of the control panel in the
concerned mode; a new pulse will determine its
disarming. With this setting the control panel can be armed
and disarmed no matter if by keypad or by an arming input
with no limits.
Disarming with active PO (timer): with a YES, the external
arming are enabled, e.g. “electronic keys” to disarm the
control panel previously armed by a PO (timer). With a NO,
in order to disarm the control panel it is necessary to wait
for the automatic disarming by the PO (timer), or disarm
by keypad with a User Code enabled to disarm with active
PO (timer).

The Autotest, it is a function of dynamic test of the battery of the control panel and of the
additional power supply unit(s) (POWER1B or POWER4B); the microprocessor is controlling
the discharge curve of the relative batteries.
It is done at the programmed hour and can also send a digital communication.
With the programming of the interval, it is settled the moment in which the function of Autotest
will performed.

PROGRAMMING DIALLER
In this menu, it is possible to memorize up to 8 profiles of 4 telephone numbers, the communication protocol (Vocal, Fast,
Sia, Sia_Hayes, Contact ID) and the number of attempts allowed for each of them, the kind of interface used for sending
them, and whether the general or the area phonetics has to be communicated.
The first step to do is to associate a User ID (identification) to the telephone numbers, in order to give the User
specifications to the telephone number.
The second step to do is to set the optional telephone parameters, which are present in the menu “Telephone Options”

FAST FORMAT: Ademco 1400 - 2300 Mz, DTMF 10 pps format
SIA HAYES: This digital protocol is used to communicate the alarm and technical
events to a receiver. With WINREC program is possible to set the Zone Codes for

Dial Tone Listening :
in dailler there is a circuit for free dial tone survey. This circuit sends the telephone call only
when there is free dial tone.
Dial Mode:
to select the dialling mode between Pulse or DTMF mode.
Answer Listening:
if this function is enabled, the vocal message playback will start only after the answer of
Called User has been detected; in this case, the telephone call is considered as having a
successful conclusion and is repeated no more.
If this function is disabled, the message begins as soon as the dialler has finished to form the
telephone number and the vocal message calls are repeated for all programming attempts.
Autoanswer Machine:
if the Answer Rings Number function is enabled and there is an autoanswering machine
installed, It is possible to bypass it. Operation for accessing logicom in RTC: Call the
installation Logitel 8 Plus, wait for the first ring and hang up immediately; recall after 10 to 20
seconds and the control unit will immediately answer.
Pause Attempts:
this is the pause between 2° and successive attempt s to the same telephone number.
Vocal Repetition:
decide how many times the vocal message must be repeated when a thelephone call is sent.
Number Rings Answer:
enabling this Ring Back function, with a ring number more than 0 (zero) it is possible to call
the installation where the Logitel 8 Plus is positioned to make a check or a remote management.
For the Vocal protocol, the control for a successful conclusion of a call, is enabled using the
parammeter “Answer Listening” as YES. If it is “NO”, the dialler will call the telephone number
for all the programmed “Number Attempts”.
If the option “Vocal Repetition” is greater than 1, it is possible to stop the vocal telephone
communication pressing the push-button [3] on the phone.
Enable RTC by GSM
If this function is enabled, the RTC function can be also made on GSM net, taking care
of the following:
- Only telep.-book: it accepts RTC in GSM only by numbers included in telephone profiles
- Only CLI numbers: it accepts RTC in GSM by all visible numbers
- All tel. numbers: it accepts RTC in GSM by all incoming numbers
Interval GSM autotest
To define after how many weeks a telephone call will be made, in order to test the correct
working of GSM Plus.
This counter refers to the succesful issue of the telephone call and is resetted at anytime if
any telephone call to the settled profile in "profile autotest telephone call" is succesful.
Profile Autotest Telephone Call
To settle from which profile the telephone numbers to call for testing GSM will be used.
The telephone call will be made after the time set in "Interval GSM Autotest"; if the telephone
call is not succesful, it will be repeated the following day at the same time .
Set a profile having "GSM" or "POTS+GSM" as interface.
Take Care: the RTC function is active only for the user’s codes associated to a profile

Watch-Dog is a particular failure recovery event on microprocessor; if there are strong electric
disturbances (thunderbolts, mains transients, ...) this circuit restarts the system without the loss of
any memorized data, communicating this event to the associated telephone numbers.

it communicates the dialled User Code, which is associated with the function “Code Communication”, to telephone numbers
Communication of EMERGENCY CODES (no fast):
it communicates the digited Emergency User Code, associated with the function “Comm.Emergency

it communicates the selftest to the associated telephone numbers that can be used to send a

Account code profile

Entering in this modality, you will obtain the block of all alarm signalling for a
period of 60 minutes; in such way it is possible make a more simple
maintenance service of thesystem.

Codes Reset
In case the INSTALLER CODE got lost, it is possible restart with the default code, following this procedure on the control
panel board:
1. close and maintain closed (jumper S1) near to the RESET push-button.
2. press and release the Reset push-button.
3. after approximately 12 seconds the alarm relay will be activated; as soon as active, open (bridge S1).
4. the alarm relay will be automatically disabled after approximately 2 seconds.
5. now the INSTALLER CODE is back to the default one (value 000000). All the arming and telephone calls are resetted.
