4. Product Introduction
The Linkwave LTE Modem Board is a board-level product aimed at system integrators requiring LTE wireless communications. It is compatible with an extended set of LTE bands covering worldwide operators, with high speed connectivity of up to 100Mbps downlink and 50Mbps uplink. Both GPS and
GLONASS location services are available.
The product is intended for integration into OEM equipment which has host processor with available
USB interface.
The available frequency bands for this product are as follows:
• 2100 (B1)/ 1800 (B3)/ 2600 (B7)/ 900 (B8)/ 800 (B20) (LTE)
• 2100 (B1)/ 1900 (B2)/ 850 (B5)/ 900 (B8) (WCDMA)
• Quad-Band (GSM/GPRS/EDGE)
The product has a mini-USB interface for local communications and twin SMA connectors for antennas. A 5.0V DC power source is required for operation. The product does not derive power from the USB connector; a separate power connector is provided. However, the product must be connected to a USB host before it will power up.
The product also provides GNSS location data in NMEA format. The GNSS antenna feed uses a separate U.FL connector, and can be configured for active or passive GNSS antennas.

6.2 Conformance
The Sierra Wireless PCI Express Mini-card 3G & HSPA modems have an operating temperature range of -25 to +60 Deg. C.
Additionally these devices operate within the range +60 to + 75 Deg. C with a reduced RF performance (Reference 3 & 4, Sierra Wireless Product Specification documents).
7. Assumptions
The Sierra Wireless PCI-Express Mini Card conforms with all essential requirements of Directive
1999/5/EC. Customers should confirm the necessity of further approvals relevant to their product using the PCA. Testing and validation of these remain the responsibility of the customer.
