An advanced version of Sony’s
Diamond-Like Carbon layer protects the signal, especially important during Pause and Freeze Frame operations.
• 50% less tape shrinkage than consumer DV tapes, for superior machine-to-machine compatibility.
DVCAM tape shrinks less during shooting in varied temperatures and stands up better to long-term storage.
That means more consistent tracking and fewer playback problems.
• Tighter tolerances for width compared to consumer DV tapes, thanks to more precise slitting. That’s another assurance of excellent machine-to-machine compatibility.
• 16 kilobyte Memory IC (PDV-ME models only) stores DVCAM metadata including Good Shot marks, Mark In/Mark Out time code, reel number, scene number and take number.
• Extended recording time up to 184 minutes in the Standard cassette
(DVCAM mode), up to 276 minutes (DV mode).
• Professional locking album base resists opening when dropped or tossed into an equipment bag.
