Camera Viewing your camera The camera widget allows you to view live footage from the dashboard. Click the play button on the widget to view your camera feed in real time, or increase the video window size by selecting the enlarge icon in the bottom right of the widget. If you have more than one camera on your system, the drop down allows you to select which camera you would like to view. The widget also informs you of the remaining storage space, advising you how much recording time you have remaining. Setting your camera to record As you watch a live stream it is also recorded. The widget will show a red light whilst recording. You can also set the camera to record automatically when the intruder alarm is triggered. When the alarm triggers and the camera records automatically, the recorded video will also include 10 seconds of pre-recorded footage taken prior to the alarm being triggered. This means any events leading up to the alarm being triggered will also be captured. You can set up this automatic recording by following the link to ‘EDIT SELECTED CAMERA’. You can also rename the camera within this section. Viewing your recordings Past recordings are available to view within the widget. You can delete unwanted recordings here also. To automatically delete past recordings when storage capacity is reached, you’ll find the option to do this in ‘ACCOUNT’ and then ‘SETTINGS’. Setting up your camera on wireless 1. Head to ‘DEVICES’ and you will now see your Camera listed along with your other system devices. Select ‘MANAGE’ next to the camera; this will open a pop up box where you can configure the camera. 2. You will see a wireless network drop down menu which will show you all available wireless networks. Select the wireless network for the same router your hub is connected to. 3. The system will then automatically choose the security type you have, you will then need to enter the correct password. This will be case sensitive. 4. Now remove the power and ethernet cable from your camera and then reinsert the power cable only. 5. Wait 5 minutes, and then go to your dashboard. The camera widget should now be working correctly and allow you to view live and recorded camera footage. If at any time you wish to reconnect the camera using an ethernet cable, you will need to reconnect it, ensuring it is to the same router the hub is connected to, and then remove and reinsert the camera power cable. Camera What is the storage capacity policy for cameras? Your system is capable of storing around seven hours, or 250MB, of recorded footage. How can I clear old video recordings that I no longer want? To auto delete past recordings when storage capacity is reached, head to ‘ACCOUNT’ and then ‘SETTINGS’. Tick the selection for ‘AUTO-DELETE...’. Do I need any software on my computer to view my camera? For you to be able to view live and saved videos, you will need to have Flash installed on your computer. If you do not have Flash installed you will be prompted to download it. To download this please visit http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer. If for some reason you are still unable to view video, please check that you are running the latest Flash plugins - new versions are available quite often so do check that there are no further plugins for you to download. How do I set my camera up to record automatically? You can also set the camera to record automatically when the intruder alarm is triggered - this can be set to various durations or not turned on at all. Within your camera widget there is a link to ‘EDIT SELECTED CAMERA’ - in here you can set up automatic recording, the time it will record for and you can also edit the camera name. Why is my camera showing as available but not letting me view any footage? First of all, check that the privacy button is not lit. This is found just above the lens, and when pressed will light up green and no footage can be viewed or recorded. For you to be able to view live and saved videos, you will need to have the required Flash software installed, details of which can be found above. Why is my camera not showing as available? If the camera is showing as not available, then please try the following steps: If the camera is connected via a wireless connection, first of all check that the camera is still in range of your wireless network. Following this please restart your wireless router and unplug the power from your camera. When the internet returns, please plug the power cable back into your camera. This should show up as present within a few minutes. If the camera is connected via ethernet cable, remove the power cable and then restart your router. Once the internet returns, plug the power cable back into your camera. This should show up as present within a few minutes.
