MANIPULATION
Digital TV operators require a solution to inject special
conditional access messages into digital TV transport
streams. Even if separate DVB scramblers and multiplexers
capable of some transport stream manipulation are currently
used, the Irdeto DVB Streamer offers additional capabilities
not available on other devices. These capabilities enable
operators to meet their business objectives:
• Offer an electronic program guide (EPG) to improve the
subscriber’s navigation experience
• Update set-top boxes (STBs) to respond to security or
business requirements without service interruption
• Support dual conditional access (CA) and mobile TV
business models with entitlement management message
(EMM) extraction and out-of-band EMM generation.
The DVB Streamer is a next-generation, intelligent headend processing device that is compact, flexible and easy to
implement. It is the ideal value-added component to any
Irdeto CA system.

KEY FEATURES
DVB SI Injection
• The DVB Streamer permits streaming of DVB SI to
the multiplexer’s input for EPG playout, enabling
operators to use the built-in SI generator of the
Irdeto Key Management System to deliver an EPG.
Injection of Private CA Data
• The DVB Streamer provides spooling and playout of
software updates from the Irdeto Code Download module
to STBs, without impacting the subscriber experience.
EMM Extraction
• This supports the Irdeto Dual CA business model.
Out-Of-Band EMM Generation for Mobile TV
• The Irdeto DVB Streamer supports S-DMB and T-DMB
mobile applications.

CONNECTIONS
Both the following functions are carried out by the DVB
Streamer just prior to multiplexing; carouseling of STB
code downloads and DVB SI generation for Pay-TV content
protection.
The rear wall of the DVB Streamer provides the connection
