he 3Com SuperStack 3
Switches 3300 provide Ethernet
(10-Mbps)/Fast Ethernet
(100-Mbps) switching for your
network. Models are also
available with a fiber or copper
Gigabit uplink port.
Each switch has 24 autosensing 10/100 ports that adjust
automatically to the speed of the
attached devices. You can stack
up to two or four switches,
depending on the model you
order. You can even connect to
copper or fiber Gigabit Ethernet.
Choose from the following:
• Stack up to two switches
with the 3C16985B. It features
(24) RJ-45 ports and (1) DB9
serial (matrix) port.
• Use the 3C16988A-US to
stack up to four switches, for a
total of 96 autosensing 10/100Mbps ports. It has (24) RJ-45
ports and (3) DB9 serial
(matrix) ports.

• For fiber, choose the
3C16987A-US. It features (24)
RJ-45 ports, (1) DB9 serial
(matrix) connector, and a
1000BASE-SX MT-RJ fiber
Gigabit port. Stack up to two of
these SM switches.
• For copper, select the
3C16986A-US. It has (24) RJ-45
10/100-Mbps ports, (1) RJ-45
(1000BASE-T) copper port, and
(1) DB9 serial (matrix) port.
Stack up to two of these TM
switches.
All of the switches feature
standards-based flow control for
maximum performance and
minimal packet loss during heavy
network loading. And it complies
with Fast IP, IGMP snooping,
IEEE 802.1D (incorporating 802.1p
prioritization), and IEEE 802.1Q
standards-based VLAN.
Elastic port buffering allocates
memory to port buffers, so the
switch can optimize performance
based on network traffic.
Dual queues help prioritize
multimedia traffic. Trunking
support lets you aggregate links
into a single, high-speed
connection to other switches or
backbone networks. And
automatic detection of full/halfduplex operation on all ports gives
you the best performance without
manual configuration.
Troubleshooting is easy, since
the switch supports a Web-based
monitoring and control system,
embedded Remote Monitoring
(RMON), and 3Com Transcend
Network Supervisor software.
